...So there's this boy. He and I were basically best friends for almost three years, and he told me he liked me about a year ago, but I wasn't really sure so I just let it hang like that and we remained best friends. Then about a month ago, I decided it was time to tell him I liked him back. He was ecstatic, and we flirted a TON, but couldn't date because a really good friend of mine has liked him for ages, so I had to ask her first. But before I could ask her, he went and talked to her and somehow ended up dating her instead. I know, it sounds like BS, and it made me really sad.

Even though I didn't, I feel like I just went through a breakup. I'm devastated that he doesn't like me anymore, and now I'm really sure that I DO like him. It's not like his girlfriend (my friend) is far prettier or smarter or anything than I (we're about equal, I think) so I just don't understand!

Anyway, my question is, how should I approach getting him to like me again and break up with her?

He apologized for his stupid trickery and right now he's treating me like a friend again, but I want to be more than that. Should I ...

a) Avoid him and hope he feels bad and/or misses me and maybe reconsiders this dynamic

b) Continue being just a friend and hope he doesn't get complacent like that

c) your suggestion.

PS: I'm a high school senior, so I have three months to fix this. I don't want to leave with no closure! What a terrible end to everything.

I'm a senior in high school and in our class we're doing a book exchange. Everyone will bring in a book wrapped in wrapping paper, and we'll hold a "Chinese auction" of sorts.

I need ideas on what kind of book to give! It needs to appeal to just about any kind of high school kid, boy or girl, etc. I don't want Twilight or other super-common books, or really boring books or really long books (War and Peace? No thanks.) Other than that, anything goes--a classic favorite, a contemporary cheesy novel, or a book of crossword puzzles.

Any ideas? I was thinking something funny like perhaps the Failblog book (Fail Nation) or something of that sort. I wanted to use the FML book but I don't think it's quite "school appropriate".

I customize canvas shoes for birthday presents etc., and I'd like to cover up the "Faded Glory" (cheap shoe brand) logo on the bottoms of the shoes with my own name.

Should I...

a) hotglue a fabric tag over it

b) sew a fabric tag over it (is it possible to sew into the insoles of shoes?)

c) something else?

There's this guy I know, Mike. He's in college (I'll be a senior in high school) and we're basically acquaintances. We know each other from tennis clinics when he was in high school.

Anyway, he's back for the summer and he asked me to catch a movie with him on Sunday (500 Days Of Summer). It's a romantic movie, but does he expect me to be romantic? I sort of like him, but I'm not sure if this is just a friendly thing or what.

I have a pair of really nice leather gladiator sandals that I LOVE.

Unfortunately, today I found that I've been wearing them too much and they now have that ugly brownish dirt "footprint" on them that flip flops usually get.

How can I get it out?! I'm not sure if I can scrub the leather without ruining it.

Seriously, it's like an ordeal when I go to the bathroom in my house, and it's SUPER embarrassing. Even with the fan on, it takes hours for the smell to go away.
