  • Determining a kitten's age beyond five weeks?

My husband just brought home a kitten that looks to be about six weeks old. She looks very healthy, with the exception of needing worming which I plan to do today. My question is with giving her flea drops. She is pure white and so I'm sure that she would have a serious flea allergy and we have a bad infestation so I want to get her doctored with the Frontline plus as soon as possible. But I'm not sure if she is old enough for it. I noticed she doesn't have many teeth so eating dry food is hard on her so I'm moistening it. But I can't remember the growth stage of a kitten because it's been years since I've had a young kitten, and all the information I've found on the web only goes to four and five weeks of age without detailed information on the development of their teeth. I know she's at least five weeks old because she is playful, eyes brightly open, ears up, and she knows what dry cat food is and eagerly tries to eat it, but I'm not sure if she is old enough for flea drops.

  • Can airline passengers take shampoo and such on their flight in carry-on luggage, or is it still banned?

I'm flying to California for Memorial day weekend and I only plan to use a carry-on bag or suitcase. I thought I heard it was once again allowed for passengers to take shampoo and lotion and such on their flights, but I'm not sure so I wanted to find out before I go buy my travel toiletries.

  • I heard about a story that was printed somewhere about the "binky fairy", where can I find that story????

I have a toddler who will be 3 next month and I am trying to get her to give up her binky on her own. I have gotten her to where she only has it when she goes to sleep and in the car. She doesn't take it into stores or houses, except home of course. Anyway, I personally feel it will be better for her and the rest of us if she gives up her binky on her own, kind of like potty training. So I am trying to find stories about kids giving up the binky for good on their own. Any ideas of where I can find the binky fairy story would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

  • What product will really totally eliminate cat urine out of carpet and furniture?

I have been dealing with cat urine in my furniture, I've shampooed, used Kids N Pets, Febreze, etc. I was able to lighten the smell, but not totally get rid of it. I found out my sister in law is highly allergic to urine smells, and my brother and her are going to be staying with me for a few days when they visit. I need to find something to get rid of this urine that is inexpensive and really truly works well. Any suggestions? Please? I need to do this within two weeks! HELP PLEASE!?! thank you.

Oh and in case someone decides to give stupid answers like get rid of the cats, no, this happened as an accident, I have an old cat who is going downhill, but is not suffering so I won't put him to sleep yet. He's very happy and healthy, just old. All other answers, thank you very much for your input.

  • Vets or Vet techs please, or anyone else who's had this with their pets?

Ok, my siamese cat is almost eleven years old. Lately we have had a bad flea problem, used everything to get rid of them, they are almost gone now. My question is this. My cat has been sneezing a lot! He is showing no other symptoms of being sick. Just the sneezing non stop. Could his sneezing be from his own dander from him scratching so much from the fleas? Or allergies maybe? Unfortuantely I can't afford to take him to the vet to find out for sure right now, as much as I want to in order to make sure he is not sick and just hasn't shown any other symptoms. I would like some opinions on this sneezing issue if anyone can help me please? As soon as I can afford to get him into the vet, I will, but it may not be for another couple of weeks yet. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

Also, no stupid answers from idiots please! This is a serious question, I only want serious answers from people who have dealt with this! Thank you, those of you who are serious.

  • If lice hate tea tree oil, would it work to get rid of fleas also?

Someone told me to use tea tree oil for lice, because they hate it. Would it work on my cats to help deter fleas also?

  • Lice? Serious problem with it can anyone help?

We have a serious lice problem. My little sister has been treated ten times, my mom has treated everything with the Rid, but they still keep coming back. I have had to treat my house and family as well because everytime my little sister comes around, the lice show back up. Is there any way we can permanently get this problem taken care of? Anything else out there that will kill the lice and their eggs. We have treated everything from heads to bedding to stuffed animals to the furniture even the yard. Please is there anything else we can do...we are so tired of constantly treating and treating and treating.?!
