Isn't Chicago a shining example of gun control?

Can those that are for gun control explain how reducing legal gun ownership keeps criminals from breaking the law?
9 AnswersGovernment8 years agoIn light of a gay marriage push, should polygamist be allowed to marry?
Should multiple Gay people be allowed marry?
What about 4 straight people in polygamy?
What about 2 sisters marrying the same man?
I just want to find out what is OK and what is not. If 2 people of the same sex can be married, why cant 3 or more? Aren't these Mormon's being hated and their civil rights violated?
8 AnswersLesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender9 years agoDo gay people think that just because I believe marriage is between a man and a woman I hate them?
I dont hate gay people, but I have a difference of opinion of what the definition of marriage is and has been for thousands of years.
Do you hate me because I have a difference of opinion or belief? I dont hate people who differ with me.
6 AnswersLesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender9 years agoCan elected officials deny your 1st ammendment rights if you are a business owner?
If you owned a business and made a political statement, should an elected official be allowed to deny your ability to run a business?
What if a mayor said this about you:
“If they need licenses in the city, it will be very difficult"
What if you were on the other side of the coin and a mayor, congressman, governor or president said you couldnt operate a business because you stated a personal belief you held? Would you stand for your rights to be violated? How is this showing tolerance of others beliefs? Just because you disagree with somebody does not mean your free speech should be squelched by a politician's threats.

2 AnswersPolitics9 years agoWould outlawing assault weapons have caused more deaths in Aurora?
Guns were outlawed at this theater. There were clearly "no gun" signs in the windows and the only people without guns were the law abiding citizens slaughtered in the theater. Obviously the law has no direct effect on those dedicated to breaking it.
This guy had and was willing to use bombs and gas, as clearly demonstrated at his apartment. Bombs are illegal and he had those. You cannot walk into a store and buy a bomb but he still got them or made them.
Do you think outlawing guns would have stopped him from getting one?
If so, do you think he would have used a bomb instead and quite possibly killed more people with a bomb than a gun?
4 AnswersGovernment9 years agoSince it is my constitutional right, why hasn't the government given me...?
a gun? I have the right to have a gun, why is the government infringing on my right to have a gun by not giving me one free of charge.
I should not have to pay for my rights, especially since I am poor. Guns cost hundreds of dollars and some of us just can't afford them.
10 AnswersPolitics9 years agoHow many condoms will employers (I mean insurance companies) be required to give out?
I mean, I know you could get the pill, but lets say I don't want to use it and I want to use condoms. Is there going to be a limit on how many I can get? Because I am going to need a LOT. I mean will I only get 1 per day, or 1 per week?
8 AnswersPolitics9 years agoShouldn't women have the right to buy contraceptives if they want to? Likewise not buy them if she doesnt?
I mean suppose she had a job, shouldn't she be able to buy contraceptives?
Isn't it also her right to not be forced to buy them if she doesn't want to?
Why do liberals want to take away her right to chose?
9 AnswersPolitics9 years agoWhat has changed in the availability of contraceptives in the past week?
Contraceptives are just as easy to get as before and can even be free from Planned parenthood and the local health department as well as most middle schools. Since Obama wants to force people to pay for them that don't want to, all of the sudden contraceptives are mysteriously unavailable?
How are people being denied contraceptives? They are still on the shelf at my Walgreen's. The problem is just that you have to pay for your own rubbers?
6 AnswersPolitics9 years agoWho should pay for birth control?
I mean, everybody should know that Democrats don't want to force people to take birth control (in general).
And Republican's don't want to outlaw birth control (in general).
The question is who should pay for birth control, right? What is so wrong with if you want it, buy it. If you don't, don't.
For those that think it should be free, isn't that what planned parenthood is for?
17 AnswersPolitics9 years agoShouldn't we defund planned parenthood since insurance must pay for birth control & womans health?
Now that the government is going to require everybody to pay for birth control and provide woman's health, shouldn't we stop funding planned parenthood? Seems silly to me to have both.
Planned parenthood and the local health department already provides contraceptives. Little girls can even get condoms at school. No need for duplication, just make people pay for insurance that is required to hand out a condom to each girl when they get off the bus and make it simple. Also, put free condom dispensers in every public restroom (especially in religious based businesses, they should DEFINATELY be forced to have them).
We dont want people to have to walk to the store for them or ask planned parenthood or the local health department for them afterall.
12 AnswersPolitics9 years agoCan you name a government program that is efficient & successful?
The governments main role is to protect its citizens through military action. I believe the US does this well (although not as efficiently as it could). I would say it is the governments "best" program or service is the military. All others are failures (social insecurity, medicry, cookiestamps, unemployment etc).
Can you think of any programs the governement operates successfully and efficiently?
4 AnswersGovernment10 years agoWhy do people want another failed government run program? What does the government run well?
Considering Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security and the Post Office are all bankrupt and every government run program is inefficient, why do some want another one of these programs (health care)? Please explain.
5 AnswersElections1 decade agoHow is health care more than free - its going to pay us?
It sounds too good to be true. I heard its going to reduce the deficit by 130 billion in 10 years and by 1.2 trillion in the second 10 years. Why have we waited so long if health care is going to not just be free - but pay us?

3 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoWhat services does the government run well?
What areas or services does the government run well?
For example:
The IRS?
Social Security?
DMV?
Public education?
Military?
So far, I can see none. Why are so many people wanting the government to run their lives (ie health care, banking, etc).
For all the private sector does poorly, consider the alternative of long lines similar to the DMV, innefficient spending like the military, broke social security, education worse than our aisian counterparts or the warm customer service you receive from the IRS.
Please provide examples of where I am wrong.

17 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhy is abortion not murder, please use intelligent answers?
Serious question, I am seeking others views. I know this question has been beat to death, but the answers are usually bashing, one liners and provide no insight.
If your answer is medically based, please provide the level or stage at which medically a baby is a human. (ie heartbeat, brain function, at delivery, etc.). Indicate if partial birth abortion is ok or at what stage.
Please include an explanation.
One liners or yes/no will indicate you gave no thought and have no basis. I am looking for clear, logical answers, not ranting or bashing. Use some intelligence.
