Isn't Chicago a shining example of gun control?

Chicago....otherwise known as the cesspool of American politics is a shining of example of liberalism gone astray. Only the cops and criminals have guns in Chicago...well of course the politicians do to and being that politicians in IL are elitists, they really do not care about the regular guy. However, welfare is pretty easy to get in IL from what I understand.

Gun control in a small area like Chicago or New York city means nothing when guns are so easily available a few miles away. Did you know how easy it is to transport a truck load of guns from Florida to Chicago?

Currently individuals convicted of misdemeanor weapons possession are barred from having a firearm in their home.

Also banning individuals with a violent misdemeanor conviction from getting a gun permit for five years is going to increase gun violence ?

The mayor also hopes to ban convicted felons from ever owning a gun. IN what way is that going to INCREASE gun violence ?

Your quoted article goes on to say "the disarming of law-abiding citizens doesn't remove guns from the hands of those who wish to do harm.". Sorry - but if convicted of a misdemeanor or felony - you are NOT law-abiding.

Now you're thinking - well they're not law-abiding so laws mean nothing. But what they mean is if found in possession illegally, you go to jail - I defy you to contribute to violent crime in the community, while in jail.

Um, the guns involved are illegal. Gun controls would require heightening the penalties for those in possession of the illegal weapons.

Don't be confused with legal guns (and ammo) vs. illegal guns.
