I have a 10 year old JVC 'tube' TV and really want to watch Discovery HD Theater, however it does not come in on my TV (it's part of my channel line up through Comcast, but it's pixelated when I tune to that channel). I've heard of other cable boxes being able to force 1080 content to 480 for this purpose, but can't find anything about doing that with my box. I just can't swing a new TV at the moment...

My wife bought me a violin for Christmas since I always wanted to learn. She spent more on the instrument itself (it's not top quality, but a good student violin made in Romania) than she did on the bow. The bow is a $30 Glasser fiberglass model. I'd like to upgrade the bow so I'm wondering if I should go with something like the Glasser X Bow carbon graphite for @$100 or jump straight up to something like a JonPaul Bravo or a Coda Bow at @$300??
