I went to a hospital that was in network for my insurance. Now that I am home and the bills are coming in I find out that the dr's in the ER are part of a group that are NOT in network. When I called about this they tell me they can charge anything they want. I was never told or asked id I wanted to be treated by them so I shouldn't have to pay a bill 5 times what my ins will cover for the process. They are operating under the assumption that they in network as is the hospital. What can I do ?

Can I pick up cobra coverage as a result of voluntary termination? My new insurance is taking longer than anticipated.
