  • Is frying an egg a denaturing process?

Studying microbiology and a few times the textbook has mentioned that frying an egg white (specifically the white) coagulates proteins by denaturation. I'm simply curious, is there a different process that takes place for frying an egg yolk? Sorry for the dumb question, haha.

  • Easy. Grammatically correct?

I'm writing up a cover letter to an internship I'm applying to and I want to mention that I could see myself working there in the future.

    I want to word this:

"If an opportunity presents itself, I could see myself continuing within this company long-term. "

I'm not sure if this sounds grammatically correct, or if there is a better way to word this.

    Thanks in advance.

  • Why am I constantly hungry?

This past month, I've been hungry constantly. I've always been somewhat of a nervous-eater but never before has it been such a problem. The strange thing is that I can go through a large chunk of time without eating (although I try not to) and be content. But once I start, I have to constantly eat something every 1-2 hours it seems. It's constantly on my mind and it's difficult to focus on other things. I try to keep my meals small, but generally at some point, maybe that day or the next, I will just binge on one thing and take in 500-700 calories within an hour. Usually it's something like nuts. The only thing that really helps me a bit is drinking tea, but that is only temporary. I am also drinking quite a large amount of water daily, think 150-200+ fl oz. No other beverages besides water and tea. This is strange to me, because I feel that drinking so much water, would give me less of an appetite. Whenever I start to get hungry again, I feel that I shouldn't be hungry because I just ate, but my brain is telling me I'm still hungry. It's quite frustrating. I consider myself fairly active, and lately have been doing more high intensity workouts. I'm at a healthy weight and have a fair amount of muscle but trying to shed about 5-10lbs to trim up a bit, and this is definitely not helping, haha. :p I don't believe I've gained any weight, just feel bloated from all the extra food. However, I definitely don't want to continue this habit. Any ideas, what could be the cause? Change in exercise? Psychological? I'm not pregnant, so that isn't a possible cause. :p Any advice?

  • Algebra Question: unique solution, no solution or infinitely many?

Can you help me with this algebra concept? I thought that unique solution: only one solution to the equation, no solution: the equation is false, and infinitely many: there are an infinite number of solutions to the equation.

I'm pretty sure I answered these first few correctly--

    4 x + 5 = 1- I answered unique, because x=-1

    (x+4)(x+5) = x^2 + 9 x + 20 - I answered unique, because x=-4, -5

2(4 x + 5) = 8 x + 10- I answered infinitely many because whatever you plug in for x on the left side you will get an equal answer if plugged in on the left

And these, I answered no solution, because if I plugged in any number, say 2, I wouldn't get the same answer on the left side as the right:

    1 x + 4 = 1 x + 5

    1/(4 x + 5) = 1/(5 x + 1)

    1/(4 x + 5) = 2(4 x + 5)

  • Chemistry help: redox rxn and emissions?

    1. Using the half-reaction method, balance the following redox reaction occurring in acidic solution:

    NO3- + I2 --> IO3- + NO2

    2. Radium-226 undergoes alpha emission. The resulting nuclide then undergoes beta emission. What is the resulting nuclide after both subsequent emissions?

  • User name for youtube?

The user name I created in middle school is embarrassing... I guess I have to create a whole new account. :P So it needs to be good.

I'm going to be using my account for lots of different things: tutorials/how-to videos, singing, maybe some vblogs. I was thinking of incorporating my name in some way: "karami" or "anjaleh," even part of it. Any cleaver suggestions or ideas? :)

  • Where to find Sunless Tanner Pump?

Anyone know of any good sunless tanners with a pump and where I can get them?

There used to be one (Neutrogena, i think) and it was really nice because with the pump you always got a consistent color. :P Now all i see are spray and squeeze bottles. I think the stuff i used was sort of like a foam/mousse-ish but if it's lotion that's fine too.

  • Insulin and Weight Gain?

I have type one diabetes and am curious on how specifically insulin effects weight gain. I know that insulin will be converted and stored as fat if the body doesn't use it. So does this mean injecting insulin itself can cause you to gain weight or simply taking more (even if just a little) insulin than needed? I have found it easier to loose weight by limiting my carbohydrates, therefore decreasing my insulin amount. But perhaps I shouldn't be as concerned with limiting carbohydrates as much as focusing more precisely on the exact amount I consume. :/ Any input would be appreciated.
