  • Should I lure and deal with a sexual predator?

A grown man has been trying to contact our minor daughter through the internet to do some modeling. She is a role model kid and straight-A student. He's made references to her doing porn without acutally coming out and saying so. The police have refused to do anything about this obvious predator because he hasnt used lewd language or images (yet). As parents, we want this piece of garbage off the street. Should we take matters into our own hands and try luring him in and "dealing" with him ourselves or what? What if it were your daughter?

  • Should I accompany my daughter when she applies for her first job?

My 15 y/o daughter wantst to apply for a job at a local ice cream parlor. I stopped by one day and picked up an application for her at this business and three others. She filled out the application and wants to turn it in at the ice cream parlor. However, when we drive over to the store, she wants me to join her inside to turn in the application. I feel that she should do this on her own since she is 15 and I've already done all the legwork. She feels that this is wrong and I should be there for her.

    Thoughtful insights appreciated....

  • New Years Eve - Times Square?

We are flying into Laguardia on New Years Eve (morning) for the big event and then flying right back out at 0630 on new years day. What is the BEST/EASIEST way to get out of Times Square and back to Laguardia at that time of night/early morning so we can make our flight? (Bus, Taxi, Subway, etc.)

  • Should children tell their parents "Thank you" for their meals?

The other morning, I woke up and prepared a nice breakfast with eggs, bacon, pancakes, etc. for my family. (Something I can't typically do because of my work schedule) When everyone was finished, they went about their business to get ready for the day. At this point I asked my wife if she thought the children (ages 12 & 14) should say thank you for my making breakfast. She said that they should not because it’s my responsibility as a parent to feed my children. I wholeheartedly agreed that it IS my responsibility to feed my children, but I also feel that they should express gratitude for what is given them. We usually say thank you when a waiter brings us our food at a restaurant even though it’s his responsibility?

    Any thoughts on the matter?

  • When answering Y! Answers questions, why do people put "The Bible" as their source?

The bible is 66 Chapters long and takes weeks to read cover to cover. If you're going to use the Bible as your source, at least provide a chapter and verse. It will do you good to look it up and do the rest of us good to know where the Bible answers the question.

2 Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

  • What if God showed up today for all to see and prove His existence?

What if He came down and the proof was undeniable and everyone believed? What if the whole event was documented and recorded on in books and video? Would our decedents 2000 years from now call all of our proof that we record a huge lie? I wonder...

  • Do you use different language at church?

When you are at church, mass, temple, mosque, or around others that are of strong faith, do you clean up your language or use "Christianeese" or whatever language is acceptable in that faith? Do you behave differently than you would at work or around others outside the church?

  • Who has done more damage to Christianity - Religious people or Atheists?

I think the hardcore, “burn in hell” shouting, condemning, religious have done more damage to the beliefs that they hold so sacred than the atheist ever has. We’ve all seen them from time to time and quite often here on Y!A. Christ himself never told us to go Judge, condemn and preach that non-believers are going to hell. He told us to “Go into all the world, and give the “good news” to everyone.” Mark 16:15. In other words, be a friend, not preach Hell Fire and Brimstone. Nobody ever won someone to their beliefs by being rude, condemning, and full of themselves. The people that Christ had the biggest problem with were the religious leaders that were so full of themselves and condemned everyone who wasn’t like them. This is not what Christians were called to be.

Matt 23:13 But a curse is on you, scribes and Pharisees, false ones! because you are shutting the kingdom of heaven against men: for you do not go in yourselves, and those who are going in, you keep back.

  • Mormons- How Do You Respond to the Book of Mormon’s Inaccuracies?

I ask this not to condemn, but to enlighten and for you to search for truth.

Ether 15:2 says "there had been slain 2 million of his mighty men, *and also their wives and children". This makes the population of the Jeridites between 4-6 million people. Joseph Smith himself declared that the Jaradites lived in the Americas more than a thousand years, and covered the continent from sea to sea, with towns and cities. (Teachings of Joseph Smith, p.267) They had vast culture, and a broad infrastructure to sustain the millions of lives that settled here. But, with all of the battles, and weapons used, there has never been found even a small shred of their language, or archeology found on this continent.

Mosiah 9:9 says we began to till the ground, yea even with all manner of seeds, with seeds of corn, and of wheat, and of barley, and with neas, and with sheum, and with seeds of all manner of fruits... However, none of these but corn are native to that region.

  • Do you Accept or Deny Jesus Christ?

I'm just trying to get a rough head count / RSVP as to how many will be at the table.

Matt 10:32 Whosoever shall confess me (Jesus) before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven.

Matt 10:33 But whosoever shall deny me (Jesus) before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.

John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: NO man cometh unto the Father (enters Heaven), but by me.

  • Why would we pay Social Security benefits to illegal aliens?

After working for over 25 years in the Unites States of America, Serving in the military for 21 of those years, it is frustrating to hear that our government considering paying my Social Security benefits to illegal alliens who have never paid in a single cent?

This is what apathy will do in our country if we do not stand up for what is right. Your hard earned dollars that you pay to social security every paycheck will go to people who are in our country illegally and will get a FREE ride on YOUR dollar.
