  • Can stuttering me "learned"? My son began 3 days ago out of the blue...please read below for detais.?

A new child enrolled in my son's daycare who is seeing a speech pathologist for stuttering and my son, who will be 3 yrs old in August came home from school on Friday and began stuttering with the first word of his sentence for the very first time. It caught my wife and myself off guard because we had never heard him repeat the first syllable of his sentence before this day. I spoke with his teacher who indicated that the other child and my son Max had been spending time around each other alot since the new child started and that he could be picking up on it from this child. I went to the stuttering website and the type of stuttering displayed by my son is the "less severe" kind they speak of where it is an effortless repetition of the first syllable of his first word of his sentence numerous times. How should i best try to curb his speaking with this stutter? Can it turn into a permanent problem for him? Should i seek out a speech pathologist as a preventative measure? Find a new daycare? Please help me..i am very worried about my little man. God bless and thank you.

  • Can I cut the ends off my Bahia bracelet?

My dad gave me a Bahia bracelet for good luck. I wrapped it around my wrist 2 times and tied 3 knots while I made 3 wishes just like it said. Is it ok to cut the ends so that they're not so long?

  • Can my wife's urinary tract infection cause her groin lymphnodes to become inflamed?

I am worried about my wife's health. She got her 2nd UTI in the last month and this time has been prescribed cipro to help with the infection but her groin lymphnodes (umbilical??) were inflamed in both UTI's. Could the inflammation be caused by the infection? Her doctor seems to think they are unrelated and she is going for an ultrasound of the nodes per her doctors advice. The tenderness and inflammation left after the 1st UTI and returned with the 2nd one. Can the inflammed nodes cause the UTI? I am worried about her but she will be going for the ultrasound in 4 days and hopefully things will be more clear after. Does anyone know if a urinary tract infection could cause inflamed nodes? She is 36 years old at the present time with our son who is 2. Thank you for your help!

  • What could cause my 22 mo old son's throat to be so red?

They swabbed his throat at the pediatrician's office and it was negative for Strep and they didn't give him a prescription for antibiotics, so I know it's not caused by bacteria.

  • My 19 mo son began losing hair for the second time. Does anyone know the possible cause?

Nutritionally, my wife and myself are dietitians and know what to feed our son so I highly doubt he is deficient in any nutrients. All of his other little parts are working fine (healing, skin, nails, other indicators of low protein) except his hair which has fallen out a quite rapid pace in a patch about the size of a CD on the rear left side of his head for some reason. We did notice that the 1st time he lost hair he was sleeping on the side where he lost the hair so that could be it but i really just don't know. His pediatritian at his 18mo wellness checkup said something to the effect of "you lose your hair, i lose my hair, he loses his hair. As long as there isn't any irritation i wouldn't be worried." So I wasn't until the latest episode which is about double in diameter of his first patch he lost. There are some hairs in the circle of missing ones, but they are very fine, and could be newer, lighter color. Please help shed some light if at all possible and I thank you!

  • Is it worth one spouse lying straight to the face of another to protect the mental stability of the other?

My wife lied to me about a small matter to my face for the first time in our 5 years of being together in our relationship (2 yrs of which we were married). We have a small child and my mental state has been very shaky lately. I have heard that without trust there is no relationship, but where do you draw the line when someone may be trying to protect you when lying to you? I am certainly not a trainwreck, but have been feeling very depressed lately, a fact that is well known to her. I love our son more than anything in the world and want to do what is right for him too. If my wife lied to me once (that i have caught her in) what else could she be lying about and furthermore, is this a environment conducive to developing the moral values our son will need to be honest and forthcoming in the future? Thank you so much for listening and offering words of advise.

    Have a happy holiday season.
