I found this strange organism swimming in my pool today, i video is here:

As you can see, this organism can be classified as having two (leg like) appendages, which aid it in swimming. A narrow, oval shaped body, and a mouth much like that of a water spider.

I have spotted around seven of these critters so far (there are probably more) swimming around the pool. There are also quite a few smaller organisms which at a glance, appear to belong to the same species.. They also seem to like clinging onto the walls, whenever i get close to one floating on the surface, it quickly submerges itself. At one point i was able to fish one out of the pool, i noticed that it had wings, and was shortly thereafter able to fly. I flew in a circle and eventually landed back in the pool.

Seeing as how this organism only has two legs, which seem to only serve one purpose, i wouldn't say that it is a land living creature. Also, there is plenty of chlorine in the pool, this doesn't seem to affect them in any way.

So here is what i need to know:

-What species of organism is it?

-What do they eat?

-What threat do they pose?

-What actions should i take to get rid of them?

So i want to restore one of my computers to complete factory default. (all files/programs removed, windows completely renewed).

So in a nutshell, i want to perform a master reset. I know how to do this initially. Back up the files, install a new version of windows (using the windows install disc), reinstall OS, etc, etc....

BUT, how does one go about doing this without a windows disc, or using system restore.

So my computer was recently infected with a virus so bad that i had to back-up and re-format my HDD. But in the process i lost all of my crucial Software apps, music, photo's, videos, etc.

Clearly you could see why i am frustrated, So my question is, is there a way to restore ALL of my data to its original state?

Also, if i do a system restore, will i also be restoring the virus to my system?

So i have a problem on my hands.. My laptop won't start up completely. What i mean by this is that it will go through with its normal processes (loading boot files, running windows start-up, etc.) HOWEVER, about 13 seconds after the boot has finished (i am at the login menu) it just shuts down.

I have never had this sort of error before, and i think a Trojan Horse may be at work here. I did run a full system scan the night before and it came up with one Trojan Horse, which it had failed to remove. I ignored it because the threat was deemed as "Low". The next day (today) when i started it up i was presented with an error message "Your computer failed to come out of hibernation" and it displayed what i presumed to be a corrupt registry file. I ignored this.

I have also done may things in an attempt to repair the issue, i started it up in safe mode, which seemed to work fine, and restored it to around a month ago. To no avail. Then i ran windows under system repair mode and scanned for start-up errors and none were found. My security settings also seem to have been hi-jacked as far as i can tell, in safe mode the windows firewall kept turning itself off.

SO THEN. My question to you brilliant IT pro's out there is, how do i go about fixing this? I think i may have to restore all of my system files eventually. Unless of course there is some easy way to bypass and correct the error. Which i am sure there is.

So my laptop shuts off on it's own during the startup process. I launch startup repair and it does the same exact thing. It would be helpful if you told me how to fix this. Thanks.

So I just installed Microsoft Flight Simulator X on my desktop, However, the program did not add a desktop icon, so i can not open it from my desktop.

I know this is going to make me sound like a total idiot!, but i need to find a way to open this program without a desktop icon.. And yes, i looked into the program files, opened every application in its file folder, no results.

So here is the deal, i need a visual map of the inside of a computer and its components, you know, RAM, Motherboard, HDD, Video card, etc.

ADDITIONALLY, this is important, i need the functions of the components as well. Each and every part. Maybe you have a .pdf file like this? If not, just whatever you can find... I will be looking too.

So i have been working out lately and I've gotten pretty ripped in my abdominal muscles. And then this question hit me; why have them?. I mean, what exactly are abdominal muscles used for? I know the purpose of biceps, shoulders, back, legs, etc. But not abs! Silly huh?

Also, i have been doing 150 situps a night for 6 months. Can anyone suggest an awesome ab workout? Thanks! :D

I know this question seems silly. But I've been playing online with Yoshimitsu (I am quite good with him) lately, And I've been noticing that most people choose Eddy/Christie or Alisa, you know, all the easy mode characters. But no Yoshi's out there it seems. So I guess my question is, do any of you play as Yoshimitsu in Tekken 6?

Say that you are a person that is socially awkward. You have a hard time making friends and few friends that you have are never around and you hardly get to talk to them.

For as along as you can remember you have been outcasted by those around you. You are called names (mostly ugly, and funny looking), but after all there are those that simply walk up to you and tell you that you look funny or that you are ugly. You are often stared at as well as pointed at when you go out into public, constant stares and whispers. Noone seems to want to be around you, and when they are forced to they grunt and say things like (i don't want to be around him/her). even your family doesn't seem to be around you and when you meet people for the first time you are given a stink face or something similar.

At this point in your life you don't see to point of going on. This hasn't seemed to have changed and wont anytime soon. You can not find any meaning to your life and every day is a drag, in fact, you are starting to develop a hate for people in general and avoid going out because of it. You have talked to people about it (both professional and family) and no one seems to understand you.

Put yourself in this persons shoes, what would you do to improve your situation, I'm trying to help someone out here so be as detailed as possible.

ALSO: i am not looking for answers like "beauty is on the inside" or "looks don't matter" because we all know that stuff isn't true. Lets not patronize here. Be as honest as possible.

I am thinking of buying a 200mW green laser pointer, I am currently living in the US. Does anyone know of any regulations for shipping lasers to the US that are over 5mW? would this laser be accepted under US customs?
