Are there any statistics for the % of kids who were raised by parents on welfare ending up on welfare later on in life?

Question on how you think this play should be scored. With nobody out and a runner on first the batter hits a line drive up the middle to the pitcher. The pitcher does not have enough time to react to field the ball, but does manage to make contact with his glove. The deflection off of his glove goes to the shortstop who otherwise wouldn't have been able to get to it. The short stop fields the ball with only enough time to get the runner at 2nd do to his proximity to the base, but a poor throw gets bobbled by the 2nd baseman and all runners end up safe.

Is this a hit, fielders choice, or straight up error? If it's an error who's the error on? I would argue that you can't give the pitcher an error because he had no time to react, and you can't really expect "normal effort" to be able to get an out on a ball that was deflected by another infielder even though due to some luck, and slow base running he still had a decent shot at it.

I think this should be ruled a hit, but I could see how people could have different opinions.

This is probably so simple that nobody bothered putting it in the tutorial, but how do you call one c++ program from inside of another c++ program. So inside the main of one program i'm in I want to call the main from another program that I have and store the return value from it.

so if I have programA and programB which accepts two strings can I just say:

result=programB(string1,string2);

from inside programA?

Since the current health care bill has passed both houses of congress and is now being reconciled. When the bill is finally reconciled and sent back to the senate for a vote. Will it need a full 60 votes in order to get an up or down vote, or will it just be submitted for an up or down vote requiring only 51?

Could someone who understands Relativity pretty well read this link and tell me if this makes sense? I've read a ton of information on the subject, and it all seems to stop short of explaining why relativity works. From everything I understand about it, this is the best explanation for why relativity works I can come up with.

A couple years ago I had a personal loan go to collections. A relatively small amount $4000. I've been trying to work with the collection company to pay of the debt, but they're basically saying I have to pay them a lump sum or go to court, and I can only afford to make smaller monthly payments, so this has just been sitting out their killing my credit rating for a few years.

I make decent money so i'm sure i can get the thing payed off, but it will take a few years with all the other bills i have to pay on top of it.

Unfortunately though my car is breaking down on me, and I really have no choice, but to get another one.

I'm going to have to find someone who will give me an auto loan to do that though and with my credit in the shape it's in i don't know what my options are. Any suggestions on how to get a decent deal on an auto loan when your credit isn't very good. I'm sure i can find one, but it'll probably be for an outragous interest rate.

If I refuse to pay a bill that is given to me by a mechanic, and I have good reason not to. Can he call the police and have me arrested for it, or would he have to take me to court?

I know if I go in front of a judge and explain to him/her what happened the judge will side with me, but I would rather make the mechanic try and bring the lawsuit against me, rather than me have to bring the lawsuit against him.

Lets pretend you and a friend are rock climbing up a really steep cliff. All of a sudden your friend starts to fall. You reach out and manage to grab him by the wrist.

So now you are both dangling there with only your one armed grip keeping both of you from falling to your death. You realize that if you had both of your arms free you could pull yourself up to safety, but your friend is too heavy to pull up with just your one arm.

Luckily a rescue crew was watching you and sees you in distress. They are on their way to save both of you, but it will take 15 minutes for them to get there, and even then there's a chance they won't be able to save both of you.

On top of that you aren't sure if the Rock you are holding onto will support both of your weights for that long, and your shoulder has been pulled out of it's socket causing you a ton of pain. The longer you hold on the more tired you become, making the likely hood of pulling yourself up worse.

Are you allowed to let go of your climbing buddy or is that Murder?

Basically I wan't to implement the equivelent of a live online fantasy baseball draft on my site. Essentially the same thing that you can do on yahoo fantasy baseball. How do I do something like in php?

I recently transfered by database over from a different host, and now I can't access it from my site. I keep getting this message:

Can't connect to mysql.

I'm assuming it's because I'm either sending the wrong hostname, username, or password to the mysql_connect function, but i'm not sure how to figure out what the right one is.

I can get onto the phpMyAdmin site and look at my database through the background, but how do I figure out what I need to be sending to connect from a php site?

About 3 months ago I told the woman I love more than anything in exactly how I felt about her. A week after that she told my best friend and roomate how she felt about him. They are now dating.

I'm not angry at either of them. I can understand why she made the decision she made, and I can't blame him for liking her either. They met before I met her, but they were both dating someone else. Then she broke up with her boy friend, and a short time later he broke up with his girlfriend. Then he had sex with this other girl, so I thought I had a window and that nothing was going to happen between them.

The question is how do I move on. I have no choice but to see them together all the time, and it tears me a part but I can't do anything. How can I ever truly honestly love another woman when I will always have to see the woman I truly want in the arms of my best friend?

I'm going through the later, and I don't think I've ever felt a worse feeling.

I'm running a fantasy baseball keeper league with a 5 player minor league system. The rules are that as long as a player would be eligable to win the rookie of the year trophy if he was in the majors, he is considered minor league eligable. If a player begins the season with minor league eligibility, he has it for the full year. We also have two DL spots allowed on our major league roster , but players must officially be on the DL in real life to qualify.

The problem is I have Liriano on my team. Technically he doesn't have rookie eligibility so I can't send him down. He is also not technically on the DL so I can't put him there either.

If you were running a league like this, how would you handle the situation? Would you allow the team with liriano to send him down to the minors, allow the team to put him on the DL, or make the owner keep liriano on his active roster and waste a spot? Why would you do it that way? Where could i find a standard set of rules for this situation?

I know milk is supposed to, but I don't really feel like sipping a glass of milk. Scotch usually does the trick for me, but I'm looking for something non-alcoholic.

I'm thinking more along the lines of tea. Any good ideas?

What are the Major league Baseball rules regarding sending a veteran player down to the minor leagues? If a team like the twins sent Livan Hernandez to the minors could other teams sign him to a major league contract?
