  • Do you think Islam has a chance in America?

I'm an American Born Muslim and I've seen many Muslim teenagers become pretty lazy when it comes to following Islam. They have girlfriends, never go to a mosque, only pray when their parents are watching etc. What I'm thinking about it whether Islam will even exist among future generations of these people. Plus, living in America and being a Muslim is a challenge in it self. The people who I'm talking about are basically the children of immigrants from the Middle East and South Asia and their logic is that Islam is from the "old times" like speaking the languages of their country of heritage.

But as the generations in America grow more and more apart from the countries of heritage in Asia, do you think there will be any serious practicing Muslims in future generations?

  • Being a minority in America?

Both of my parents are from South Asia and they immigrated to America where I was born and raised. I grew up living in my parent's culture at home (hearing them talk in Urdu, eating cultural food, etc.) but then in the typical American culture outside. What I'm sort of wondering is what kind of culture will by own children have being third-generation born American born? My parents came directly from their homeland and really know everything about it, but I don't. Like I can barely speak the language they talk in (which is Urdu) although I can understand it somewhat.

Will Americanization continually effect my future descendants until they know nothing about the ethnic culture? I'm confused whether I should just lose all hope and just completely forget and not bother to learn my culture if Americanization will eventually strip it away no matter what.

Is there any possible way to maintain the culture of my ancestors in America for generations to come or should I just not bother and give up? I've always wondered if maybe somewhere in America they have like pre schools and educational institutions that teach other world languages for the descendants of immigrants but I've never seen one. I plan on taking Urdu in college but I honestly don't know if it's of any use.

  • How do I keep it halal if I'm living in the West?

So I'm a 16 Pakistani American who's been born and raised in the US. I like to think of myself as a practicing Muslim because I pray, fast in ramadan, don't drink alcohol etc. But being in high school it's difficult for me not to fall into the dating and premarital sex culture of normal Americans. I see my friends taking girlfriends and enjoying themselves with them, but I so far haven't had one and am trying not to, but there is SO MUCH pressure. Practically every show on television and in movies the concept on "free sex" is shown, but Islam doesn't allow it. I know plenty of attractive girls literally who always wear literally 8 inch shorts and tight shirts in my school who I've been told to by my friends to ask out, but I always manage to say no. And it's just so agonizing to go through the same struggles everyday when I see everyone around me doing things that I "shouldn't" do. I even know some muslim guys my age who have secret girlfriends in school but dont' tell their parents.

  • How do I preserve my culture for future generations?

Okay so my parents are from Pakistan and moved to America where I was born. I'm 16 now, but I know nothing about their culture! You could say that it's practically the same as the culture of North India really... But I know none of it. I can't speak the language very well (which is Urdu), I have no idea how to make any of the food I have grown up eating (like tandoori chicken or any curries). And I really feel the pressure of having to learn about this culture because I want to eventually teach of children this culture. But HOW?? Living in America, I've only spoke in English although I can understand Urdu pretty well. I'm just afraid about what will happen to my later descendants... Will they know anything about their homeland?

  • Should guys masturbate?

I'm a 16 year old teenage guy and I am very conflicted over whether masturbating is right or wrong. I do it but am currently in the process of stopping.

    CONS:

1)masturbating seems like an addiction to me. I used to do it daily but I felt bad about it so I'm trying to lessen how often i do it.

    2) it gives u no benefit physically except that it gives u pleasure during it but is only temporary.

    3) honestly when people say that it is a substitute to sexual intercourse they are lying to themselves. U can do it again after an hour and it actually makes u think about having sex more.

    4) it makes actually having sex with someone lose its meaning as I know guys who masturbate every day like it's a chore they have to do in their schedule.

    5) I think masturbating is "too much of a good thing" when it comes to sex. Sex used to be considered something almost as a privilege, the main reason people got married and had kids. Now sex has become something as insignificant as taking a piss.

  • Where do Christians get the idea that we Muslims are terrorists?

That kill people who are non-believers?? Just where? It's so unfair how we get some bad media and we get blamed on as having a violent religion, when actually it's a peaceful religion

Here are some verses that refute the mere thought of terrorism in Islam

“Fight in the cause of God those who fight you, but do not transgress limits; for God loveth not transgressors. (The Noble Quran, 2:190)“

“But if the enemy incline towards peace, do thou (also) incline towards peace, and trust in God: for He is One that heareth and knoweth (all things). (The Noble Quran, 8:61)“

“If thou dost stretch thy hand against me, to slay me, it is not for me to stretch my hand against thee to slay thee: for I do fear God, the cherisher of the worlds. (The Noble Quran, 5:28)“

“God does not forbid you from showing kindness and dealing justly with those who have not fought you about religion and have not driven you out of your homes. God loves just dealers. (The Noble Quran, 60:8)“

“And fight them until persecution is no more, and religion is for God. But if they desist, then let there be no hostility except against wrongdoers. (The Noble Quran 2:193)“

“Let there be no compulsion in religion: Truth stands out clear from error: whoever rejects evil and believes in Allah hath grasped the most trustworthy handhold, that never breaks. And Allah heareth and knoweth all things. (The Noble Quran, 2:256)“

“Again and again will those who disbelieve, wish that they had bowed (to God’s will) in Islam. Leave them alone, to enjoy (the good things of this life) and to please themselves: let (false) hope amuse them: soon will knowledge (undeceive them). (The Noble Quran, 15:2-3)“

Say: ‘Obey Allah, and obey the Messenger: but if ye turn away, he is only responsible for the duty placed on him and ye for that placed on you. If ye obey him, ye shall be on right guidance. The Messenger’s duty is only to preach the clear (Message). (The Noble Quran, 24:54)“

“Say : O ye that reject Faith! I worship not that which ye worship, Nor will ye worship that which I worship. And I will not worship that which ye have been wont to worship, Nor will ye worship that which I worship. To you be your Way, and to me mine. (The Noble Quran, 109:1-6)“

  • Contradiction in the Bible?

    Matthew 28:18-20

18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

Okay, every Christian on this website against me has quoted this to me BUT doesn't this verse contradict this verse found earlier on in the book of Matthew??

    Matthew 15:24

    New American Standard Bible (NASB)

24 But He answered and said, “I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.”

    AND

    Matthew 10:3-6

    English Standard Version (ESV)

3 Philip and Bartholomew; Thomas and Matthew the tax collector; James the son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus;[a] 4 Simon the Zealot,[b] and Judas Iscariot, who betrayed him.

Jesus Sends Out the Twelve Apostles

5 These twelve Jesus sent out, instructing them, “Go nowhere among the Gentiles and enter no town of the Samaritans, 6 but go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations"

    VS.

"Go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel"

And I don't want any of those answers in which all they say is "Jesus is God" or "Muhammad was a false prophet". I want a real explanation from peole who actually look at the bible with a logical perspective rather than believe every word of it BECAUSE YOU CAN'T because it has contradictions!!

So how can you prove me wrong on this one?

  • Why don't Christians think God is the same as Allah?

When since the founding of Islam, Muslims have known that Allah is the same being that helped Jesus perform miracles and saved Moses from Pharaoh??

The Jews call 'Uzair a son of God, and the Christians call Christ the son of God. That is but a saying from their mouth; (in this) they but imitate what the unbelievers of old used to say. God's curse be on them; how they are deluded away from the Truth! They take their priests and their anchorites to be their lords in derogation of God, and (they take as their Lord) Christ the son of Mary. Yet they were commanded to worship but One God: there is no god but He. Praise and glory to Him! (Far is He) from having the partners they associate (with Him)" (9:30-31).

"O you who believe! Be helpers of God -- as Jesus the son of Mary said to the Disciples, 'Who will be my helpers in (the work of) God?' Said the disciples, 'We are God's helpers!' Then a portion of the Children of Israel believed, and a portion disbelieved. But We gave power to those who believed, against their enemies, and they became the ones that prevailed" (61:14).

Why don't Christians believe in the same thing vice versa?

  • So according to Christianity are all Jews and Muslims going to hell?

    Because the Quran says:

"Surely those who believe, and those who are Jews, and the Christians, and the Sabians -- whoever believes in God and the Last Day and does good, they shall have their reward from their Lord. And there will be no fear for them, nor shall they grieve" (2:62, 5:69, and many other verses).

"...and nearest among them in love to the believers will you find those who say, 'We are Christians,' because amongst these are men devoted to learning and men who have renounced the world, and they are not arrogant" (5:82).

BUT does the Bible say the same thing to Jews and Muslims?

  • ALL Christians... Isn't this true?

    From the Quran:

"Christ, the son of Mary, was no more than a messenger; many were the messengers that passed away before him. His mother was a woman of truth. They had both to eat their (daily) food. See how God makes His signs clear to them; yet see in what ways they are deluded away from the truth!" (5:75).

"He [Jesus] said: 'I am indeed a servant of God. He has given me revelation and made me a prophet; He has made me blessed wheresoever I be; and He has enjoined on me prayer and charity as long as I live. He has made me kind to my mother, and not overbearing or miserable. So peace is on me the day I was born, the day that I die, and the day that I shall be raised up to life (again)!' Such was Jesus the son of Mary. It is a statement of truth, about which they (vainly) dispute. It is not befitting to (the majesty of) God that He should beget a son. Glory be to Him! When He determines a matter, He only says to it, 'Be,' and it is" (19:30-35).

"When Jesus came with Clear Signs, he said: 'Now I have come to you with Wisdom, and in order to make clear to you some of the (points) on which you dispute. Therefore, fear God and obey me. God, He is my Lord and your Lord, so worship Him -- this is a Straight Way.' But sects from among themselves fell into disagreement. So woe to the wrongdoers, from the penalty of a Grievous Day!" (43:63-65)

Where is the Christian's proof that any of this is wrong?

  • How could Jesus be God if...?

Then during all those times when Jesus was praying to God, was he really praying to himself??

Then what was the point in praying to his "father" if Jesus is God and can do anything pretty much?

    36. Then Jesus went with his disciples to a place called Gethsemane, and he said to them, "Sit here while I go over there and pray."

    37. He took Peter and the two sons of Zebedee along with him, and he began to be sorrowful and troubled.

    38. Then he said to them, "My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death. Stay here and keep watch with me."

    39. Going a little farther, he fell with his face to the ground and prayed, "My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will." 40. Then he returned to his disciples and found them sleeping. "Could you men not keep watch with me for one hour?" he asked Peter.

    41. "Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the body is weak."

    42. He went away a second time and prayed, "My Father, if it is not possible for this cup to be taken away unless I drink it, may your will be done."

    43. When he came back, he again found them sleeping, because their eyes were heavy.

    44. So he left them and went away once more and prayed the third time, SAYING THE SAME THING.

Or was Jesus a demigod or a half-blood giving him only certain powers? Or are you going to say he's a lower God in the Christian hierarchy of the Gods.

Some Christian explain this to me, because it makes no sense to me whatsoever.

  • Couldn't you say that Christians are idolizing Jesus?

    idol·ize

    verb \ˈī-də-ˌlīz\

    idol·izedidol·iz·ing

    Definition of IDOLIZE

    transitive verb

: to worship as a god; broadly: to love or admire to excess

Shouldn't Christians be worshipping the one and only God instead of Jesus?

I mean... This is the same God here who created Adam and Eve, who sent the flood to Noah and saved him and his family, who guided Abraham out of Canaan and gave him sons, who freed the Jews from Egypt, who sent Jesus as the messiah.

Instead of just worshipping Jesus (which is idolizing), shouldn't Christians worship the almighty God?

  • How would Christians respond if...?

They realized that the Bible today is not the real Bible written down by Jesus' apostles?

How would you guys respond if it was discovered that the church literally pick and chose parts of the original Bible and simply copied and pasted the ones that they thought made sense and threw out other passages about Jesus??

How would you respond if we found a copy of the ORIGINAL Bible and it literally said the same thing that the Torah said today with the addition of another chapter about Jesus's life without any contradictions to the OT?

How would you guys react if I told you that all Muslims today believe everything I wrote above??
