What are the main complications with delivery of macrosomic baby?
I am 36.5 weeks & my baby is already measuring to be 9.5-10lbs. I had an amnio yesterday and the baby's lungs are not quite mature enough for an induction. Both of my boys were born, vaginal deliveries, at 36.5 weeks weighing 7lbs 1 oz and 7lbs 11oz w/ stays in the NICU due to lungs. I do not have gestational diabetes & doctors don't see anything wrong with the baby other than genetics has made him large for gestational age. I have read about some of the complications w/ macrosomic deliveries and I am scared that somehow my baby or myself might die or suffer from major complications. Should I try vaginal or just opt for c section?

We might be having a boy and we like "Jagger" as a middle name. My husband and I like rock and outlaw country. We thought about Waylon Jagger. What names following that music genre would you suggest?

31 AnswersBaby Names1 decade agoHave you ever been misdiagnosed?
I was diagnosed with a blighted ovum on June 5th and I declined the option to schedule a D & C. On June 13th, I had another ultrasound. I saw my fetal pole and heard my baby's heartbeat. I was told that I was about 6 weeks pregnant and congratulations you don't have a blighted ovum after all. So technically if I had the D and C, I would have been having an abortion because there was a baby after all. Don't get me wrong, I am extremely happy that I was misdiagnosed...but I can't believe that a doctor, that I have been going to since I was 14 and he delivered my first two children, would be so quick to make the blighted ovum diagnosis. My husband doesn't want me to go back to this doctor. He has given him the nickname "Dr. Kevorkian". I can only hope that I go on to have a healthy baby and to educate some people about being misdiagnosed with blighted ovum and the importance of waiting things out.
Please share your misdiagnosed story.

1 AnswerOther - Food & Drink1 decade agoDo/did you have raging pregnancy hormones?
This is my third pregnancy. I have two boys from my previous marriage. This is my first pregnancy with my husband and I can't stop thinking about having sex with him. lol
I am about six weeks pregnant and I am having to take prometrium. I took this with my other pregnancies too, but I have never spent this much time thinking about being intimate with my husband. The other day he was hitting the steering wheel, like he was playing the guitar, while listening to Ozzy and I had to ask him to quit because it was really turning me on.
Did/does anyone else have this reaction during pregnancy? I don't want to call it a "problem", because I think it is actually funny. Was it different with every pregnancy?
I forgot to mention that I look 4 months even though I am only 6 weeks and my doctor has advised me not to have sex for a few weeks.
2 AnswersPregnancy1 decade agoWhat are step parent's rights if the biological parent, their spouse, dies?
I have a wonderful husband who is an awesome stepfather to my two boys. My boys are two and five and my husband has been around since the youngest one was 6 months. I am now pregnant with our first child.
What kind of rights would my husband or parents have if I died? I am assuming that my exhusband would take full custody of my 2 and 5 year old. Is there any legal way to guarantee that my parents and/or husband could get visitation? It really concerns me that my exhusband would not allow them to see the boys if their wasn't a legal binding document. I can't imagine the pain and emotional stress that my boys, husband, and parents would go through if they never got to see each other again. We all live in Texas, not sure that matters.
13 AnswersMarriage & Divorce1 decade agoWhat is the most annoying sound you have ever heard?
I am pregnant and I have noticed that some sounds are really irritating/annoying me. Some sounds are even freaking me out lol...
My husband sometimes grinds his teeth while sleeping. It is a freaky sound in the middle of the night that disappears for a few minutes after I jab him in the side. I also can't stand the sound of this plastic bag being slighty blown by my ceiling fan as I type. It gives me chills lol. My other top two sounds are anything that sounds like a mouse scratching and a electric smoke detector's battery going dead at 3 am (it requires a ladder to get to). It really sucks when you don't have a battery to replace the dead one :(

16 AnswersBaby Names1 decade agoPositive Pregnancy test-how far along?
I have taken a few first response pregnancy tests and they all had a very faint pink line indicating that I am pregnant. Since the line was so faint, I took the EPT digital pregnancy test today. It said, "pregnant". My last period started around 4/1/07. I have never been regular. I took 2 pregnancy tests around 5/6 & 5/7, both were neg. My doctor started me on prometrium to start my period. Today would be the 7th day since I have been off prometrium and no period. My 1st pregnancy I had to be on clomid and the 2nd pregnancy I took prometrium and found out I was pregnant before I started clomid. So about how far along do you think I might be since the EPT Digital test sensitivity is about 40mIU-50mIU? I plan on seeing the Dr in the next few days...
5 AnswersPregnancy1 decade agoDoes Texas Law use a "new" spouses income to increase child support?
If my husband is taken back to court for a child support modification, will they use my income to determine an increase in support? If we have to fill out a financial information statement, do we include our combined expenses and income? We have a 2 and 5 year old that he watches and he is under Doctor's care for stage 2 Hypertension, so he only works part-time. We are also expecting to have a baby within the next year. My husband actually makes less than when the original child support payment was determined. I understand that a judge won't usually change support unless there is a 20% and/or $100 difference from the original support.

1 AnswerInfectious Diseases1 decade agoCan elevated Troponin levels be related to Thyroid or Infertility problems?
I often feel fatigued and seem to have a low energy level. This happens a few times a week. I usually have to take prometrium to have a period or I have to be on a birth control pill just to be regular. My first child had to be conceived with clomid. I can go six+ months with no period, if it isn't medicine induced. I have never been told that I have a thyroid problem, but I know that I have irregular periods and infertility issues. Can this cause heart damage or elevated troponin levels?
Recently, I went to the ER and had an abnormal ekg/ecg. I had an irregular heartbeat and my blood pressure was up and down. After bloodwork and many tests, the only thing they could find wrong was that I had an elevated cardiac enzyme, troponin, in my blood. It was .11 to begin with and about 12-16 hours later it was .10. The doctor told me that this suggested possible heart damage. I had a treadmill stress echo today...no results yet :( If it isn't my heart, what could it be?
7 AnswersHeart Diseases1 decade agoWhat causes elevated troponin levels in a 28 year old female?
I was just released from the hospital. I went into the hospital with severe right side adominal pain, throwing-up, and feeling faint. While I was there my blood pressure and heart rate were all over the place. My pulse was over 100 several times and it was 130 a few times. I had an adnormal ekg and my cpk bloodwork showed that I had elevated troponin levels in my bloodstream. When I left the hospital they said my last troponin level was .10. I have to go back on Thursday to have an outpatient Stress Test. After all tests, ct, and xrays...the only thing they are worried about is my elevated troponin level. Being only 28, they don't think I had a heart attack, but they are concerned that I might have some heart damage that would be causing my tropnin levels to be elevated.
5 AnswersHeart Diseases1 decade agoIs there a new Cell Phone law in Texas?
I went to a Cingular store today and I was told that as of March 1, 2007 Texas will enfore a new cell phone law. The rep said that you would be given a ticket if you were driving and talking on a hand-held cell phone. Has anyone heard about this? Is there a website that I can view that talks about the new law? I have talked to several people and no one has heard about this new law. I would hate to think that the Cingular rep was giving me wrong information.

I have recently been out 3k over some court issues to protect my children. I am looking to be out another 3k before it is over. My ex has been ordered to have a psychological evaultion and social study. Right now the court will only allow him to have supervised visits...cps has been involved....etc
I have pretty much maxed out my credit cards and I have been out over 4k in salary just this year...the 4k is due to taking off with sick children and court visits. I can't really afford to keep paying my attorney, credit cards, and etc. I don't want to lose my house and ruin my credit, but I want to protect my children.
