The Bible and the Bible Only John 3:16 Keep the faith I am a believer in the faith of Christ and the Ten Commandments of love. "Here is the patience of the saints: here are those who keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus." (Revelation 14:12). We are saved by grace alone, never by works. Yet, our works reveal that we have been saved out of sin, not in our sin. Exodus 20 1. No other gods than God 2. No idols or images/carvings that lead away from God 3. No misuse or misrepresentation of His name 4. Remember the seventh-day Sabbath in honor and dedication of God the Creator of all good things 5. Respect your parents 6. No murdering 7. No adultery 8. No stealing 9. No lying 10. No envying These reveal the loving character of God, and this is the standard of love for all mankind. Glory be to the Creator forever.
Who remembers the seventh-day Sabbath?
"Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy. Six days you will work, and do all your job: But the seventh-day [Saturday] is the Sabbath of the Lord your God... For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day [Saturday]: wherefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it." (Exodus 20:8-11). If we, as Christians, believe in the Ten Commandments, why do so many excluded this one? The Ten Commandments is the law of love, such as not killing, stealing, lying, worshiping other gods, etc. These show both our love to God and or love to man. If we do not believe in killing and stealing and taking the name of God in vain, why do so many eliminate the fourth commandment, which dates back to Creation and the Garden of Eden? Where does the Bible ever change the seventh-day Sabbath to Sunday? Why did Jesus keep the Sabbath? Why did His followers keep the Sabbath? This is the only day He has every claimed as His own. Isn't this the Lord's Day, seeing he has claimed it?
13 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWho inherit eternal life?
Don't those who believe inherit eternal life? "He gave His only unique Son, that whoever believe in Him will not perish, but will have eternal life." (John 3:16b). If the wicked burn forever in agony, doesn't this imply that God has perpetuated their lives for the sake of torture? Isn't everlasting life given to the righteous, not the wicked? Why do so many Christians present the idea that God will grant eternal life to all, including the wicked in their suffereing, which would not be a God of love?
When Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed by God with fire and brimestone, because of their evil condition, are the cities still burning today? The result of the fire is certainly eternal, and it is true that God destroyed the evil, but since it is destroyed, it does not exist anymore, right? So, when God says He will destroy all the wicked in the end, why do we think they will be burning for eternity with everlasting life, supposed to be reserved for the righteous?
Through prophecy, didn't God say He would destroy Satan to ashes, not perpetual life? "Your heart was lifted up because of your beauty, you have corrupted your wisdom because of your brightness... therefore will I bring forth a fire from the midst of you, it will devour you, and I will bring you to ashes on the earth in the sight of all them that behold you. All those that know you among the people will be astonished at you: you will be a terror, and never will you be any more." (Ezekial 28:17-19). Isn't Satan going to be destroyed? If the whole purpose of salvation is to free us from sin and to purify the universe from evil again, why would He maintain the existence of sinful men and demons (seeing He is trying to get rid of it) for His own anger. Is this the God of love we know? Would He not, in His abundant mercy, destroy the wicked to relieve both them and the righteous from misery?
Adam and Eve were not allowed to eat from the Tree of Life for a reason, after sinning. Eating from it would perpetuate life, and eternal sin was never in God's plan, because of its agents of misery and sorrow. If God would not allow sin to be eternal from the beginning (being merciful that man should die to be rested from the world of sin), why do many think that God will allow its eternal state in the end?
May the Lord guide us all in His love and truth daily, leaning solely on the full context of God's Holy Word.
