I'm looking at a small above ground soft side pool, 8' diam x 30" depth. Some come with pumps and some don't.?
I've had larger pools in the past. My kids are grown and gone. Looking to get this for me and my small grandsons. The price difference in the one with the pump and the one without the pump is about $50, obviously reasonable either way. Why would they sell the SAME pool with or without a pump. If they would sell it without, would it really be necessary? I know the pump filters the water, but do you really have to have it. If you shocked the water once a week, would that be adequate without a pump?

8 AnswersGrade-Schooler1 decade agoWhy would my finance company want me to "escrow" my taxes and homeowners insurance, when I have always paid it?
yearly on my own? Will I be charged interest on the amount of my taxes and insurance? I have already paid my insurance up for one year paid in November 2008. If I don't sign my finance papers til February 2009, and they calculate the insurance into my payments, will I get back the portion of my insurance that I have already paid, which would be 10 months of the yearly premium. If you can, explain this to me in simple terns. THANKS
4 AnswersInsurance1 decade agoAny law students, lawyers, or anyone knowledgeable about the law? I am remodeling a house, and we have hit ?
speed bumps, and I need some advice. Here's the short of it: I hired a company to do my remodel job, siding, windows, new roof, new heat and air unit, remodel kitchen, bath, refinish hardwood floors, and lay new tile throughout. I do not have to sign anything or pay anything until all work is complete. The hardwood floors looked like kids finger painted them, literally, and the kitchen cabinets looked almost as bad. The only thing I was happy with was the siding, windows, roof, and the central h/a unit. So, they agreed to redo the floors, and said the kitchen cabinets would have to be painted instead of stained and varnished for some reason. I really didn't want to paint the cabinets but finally agreed, and picked a color. I had already chosen my tile floors, and couldn't change that, my walls were already painted and didn't want to change that, and the new countertops were in place and I was happy with them. So I was just hoping the color I chose for the cabinets would blend. Luckily, it did, but they hung some of the cabinet doors wrong, to open the wrong way, and a corner door especially won't open because of the handle on it. It should open from the other side. When they were redoing the wood floors, the sander was parked in a corner and must have been hot because in the night, a fire started and burnt through the wood floor. Now, the floor had to be replaced. The wood floors look beautiful this time around. They had to hire another crew to redo them. The tile floors look great. But, they still have so much to do. A few kitchen cabinets are missing. Pulls on some of them are missing. Some are still hung crooked. They need to finish placing the sinks and toilet in the bath. The kitchen sink is yet to be installed. They haven't even wiped the walls down from the soot from the fire, and the walls that the sander was parked by when it burned need to be sanded and repainted. The contractor is pushing me to sign and saying, "These are minor details, and we can finish them after you move in." On top of all this, I was told we would be in the house by Dec 1, and told it was safe to give my notice at my apartment. I gave a tentative notice, which my apt. mgr. interpreted as a final notice. The fire happened on Nov. 28, and when I went to tell them I needed to stay at least another month, I was told I had two days to move. So my kids and I moved our belongings into a rental storage and moved into a motel. The remodel company is paying for this. My legal question is: If I move into the house unfinished, am I in a way saying I accept it as it is? and if they do not finish it, can I do anything? OR Should I refuse to move in until it is complete, and demand that they continue to pay for our present accomodations, which are really pathetic, considering it is Christmas? Should I contact my attorney, and let them know we will do what we have to do to get the job done? We are having to eat out every meal, and the room is getting smaller every day!!

3 AnswersLaw & Ethics1 decade agoMy dog, a west highland terror, is 10 months old and in heat for the first time. I always have my dogs fixed ?

strange, just laying around...she is usually bouncing off the walls. She is also dripping a little blood, not much...What I need to know is...how long is she going to bleed....is it too late to take her to the vet to get her fixed...and when should I keep her locked up...because we also have a male Shitzu and a male Maltese, and we don't know if we want babes. When is the best time to get a female fixed...after first heat, or after first litter? Or before, and I missed it?!

3 AnswersPassword and Sign In1 decade agoWhat was the name of this candy? In the 60's and 70's, it was kind of like Sweet Tarts, kind of like Smarties?
It came in a package about the size of a small envelope, and there were about 20 or so pieces in each package. They were multicolored, and had animals or animal heads embossed onto them. And their mascot was a tiger. They would almost melt in your mouth after a few seconds, they were tarter than Smarties, and softer than Sweet Tarts. Does anyone remember the name of this candy, and what happened to them? Does anyone know of any stores that sell old, vintage items like this anymore, if they are even made anymore?
Thanks for your help. This has driven us 40 somethings crazy all day at work, and the babies (20 year olds) think we're nuts. They don't even know who the "Eagles" who sang on the Country Music Awards were. LOL

3 AnswersGrade-Schooler1 decade agoDo mothballs help ward off snakes? What can I do to fix a 1/4 inch or less gap under my front door?
I live in a nice apartment complex, but there is a small (maybe 1/4 inch or less) gap at the bottom of my front door. We were sitting in the living room one night and our little dog started acting funny. Just a few minutes later, I looked down at her and she had what I thought was a rope in her mouth slinging it around. She was right at the front door. To my surprise, it was actually a small snake. I started screaming. My son beat it with a shoe, thought it was dead, but no, it was not. I called our apartment manager, and the B____ she is told us to " be careful, snakes are dangerous" and told us that she would call maintenance in the morning, and that if we didn't kill it, we could call the police and they would come get it out of our apartment. We did call the police, they came, and were just as rude. One of the officers picked the snake up and said "it's just a little yellow corn snake, it wouldn't hurt you if it bit you." I told him that didn't make me feel any better, it could have been any kind of snake. The next day, I came home to a multitude of mothballs in the landscaping by my apartment. And, the gap under the door is still there. I have never heard that mothballs would help keep snakes away, but I am hopeful. There is a wooded area just out my frontdoor, and we have had a lot of rain lately.
