Can someone please tell me how Obama can 'fire" people who are Board members of a Company?
I've read the Constitution and can not find this power given to the president. Also, where is it that the US government can own common (i.e. voting) stock in GM and Chrysler?
6 AnswersGovernment1 decade agoCan you tell me what exactly are Obama's positions?
I don't want to know what the others say, but what you believe they are.
19 AnswersElections1 decade agoWhat happened in the 7th game of the 1960 World Series that is very unusual?
I am not talking about the walk-off homer to end the game and win the Series.
3 AnswersTrivia1 decade agoDoes anyone know of an athiestic society in the past?
I'm not talking about Russia, or China or othe communist countries because they did/do have many believers in them. I am asking for a society that was purely atheistic and held no believe in a god whatsoever. I have looked and not seen one.
12 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoA tough trivia question for everyone.?
Who is the only player in baseball history to have had an official at bat, but never had a ball pitched to him?

These and many other matters which might be noticed, add a volume of unofficial declarations to the mass of organic utterances that this is a Christian nation."

10 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoFor the Atheists among us--How Come you say...?
you don't want to spend time talking to "a person who does not want to learn and would hold onto his assumptions no matter how much proof was given to refute those assumptions."(from a recent answer)?
Yet how many of you would be willing to listen to the Christians make their points with an open mind?
Why should you condemn us as closed minded when you are just as closed minded, if not more. Many of you simple say "There is no God" and leave it at that. Where is the "scientific method" in that answer. Would you accept the answer "5" to the question of "How much is 2 plus 2?" if someone were to give it. No you would say they are wrong. I believe that dialogue between opposing groups depends on both sides listening to the others point of view, accept it a a valid starting point, then discuss the points with an open mind.
But I fail to find that in most of the answers given to Christian questions.
Why is that?
17 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoFaith and Evolution? Did you answer this Question?
If you have, please go back to it and read my additional thoughts and respond here. I am interested to see what you might say.
7 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoHow much faith does it take to believe in Evolution?
Evolution has many gaps between the "advances" of the species. Some claim that birds evolved from the dinosaurs, yet no intermediate species has been found. The development of the eye has never been explained, in fact Darwin stated that the eye could be the downfall of his theory. Or how about the atom, how did a hydrogen atom grow into a helium atom or were they both always there?
30 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoA thought about ancient gods and Jesus, which came first?
In an answer one wrote: "Did you know that your jesus is just a rehash of earlier, cooler gods?"
My question is this: Given that God exists (allow me this "fact" though you might not agree) and is good, would it not be logical for an evil being existing that would counter his plans? I say yes it is and the Devil is it. If that is the case, wouldn't it be logical for Satan, who knows God's plans, to provide the very "gods" mentioned in the above quote?
25 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhat do you think of this statement and who do you think said it?
"...let us with caution indulge the supposition that morality can be maintained without religion."
8 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhat is the latest example of evolutionary change in an animal, either extinct or presently alive?
Does anybody know for sure? (And don't answer with the moths of England, they are an example of adaptivity not evolution.)
7 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoAre we looking back at ourselves when we look at distant galaxies?
With Einstein's theories showing light bends, and if we have enough distance can the light from the Milky Way bend enough so that we end up looking at the other side of our galaxy? I ask this because Spiral Galaxy NGC 7331, look a lot like the Milky Way?
