  • Calculus - I have an integral with a lower limit of R and no upper limit. I'm not sure what it means.?

It's hard because I can't show subscript and superscript here. Imagine that the R is the lower limit and there is no upper limit. I'm used to seeing limits like -∞ to ∞ or a to b but never just a lower limit of R. What does it mean? Here is a sample question.

    ∫R dx/(1+x^2)

  • Since Feeling is First- EE Cummings?

I need it to be a line by line analysis. I added mine.

I need to analyze and annotate this poem:

since feeling is first <--- Feelings are more important than intellect

who pays any attention /_____________ Criticizing other poems who misspell things to show life's imperfections

to the syntax of things \

    will never wholly kiss you;

    wholly to be a fool

while Spring is in the world

    my blood approves,

and kisses are a far better fate

    than wisdom

lady i swear by all flowers. Don't cry

--the best gesture of my brain is less than

    your eyelids' flutter which says

we are for each other: then

laugh, leaning back in my arms

for life's not a paragraph <------ Life is not structure like a paragraph

And death i think is no parenthesis

  • Help with Zest (Ze?t) Level 5 B?

Okay, Zest Addict got me hooked on http://zestriddle.fanzine.pl/ No, I take full blame for this – I was warned. I started playing tonight and I’ve made it to level 5B but I’m seriously stuck. I see the blue and white code and I see the hints in blue and white but I’m just not seeing what word(s) are being made out of all these letters. What am I missing or doing wrong?

  • What's the meaning of this poem, or what does it make you think or feel?

You declare you see me dimly

through a glass which will not shine,

though I stand before you boldly,

trim in rank and marking time.

You do own to hear me faintly

as a whisper out of range,

while my drums beat out the message

    and the rhythms never change.

Equality, and I will be free.

Equality, and I will be free.

You announce my ways are wanton,

that I fly from man to man,

but if I'm just a shadow to you,

    could you ever understand ?

We have lived a painful history,

    we know the shameful past,

but I keep on marching forward,

and you keep on coming last.

Equality, and I will be free.

Equality, and I will be free.

Take the blinders from your vision,

take the padding from your ears,

and confess you've heard me crying,

and admit you've seen my tears.

    Hear the tempo so compelling,

hear the blood throb in my veins.

Yes, my drums are beating nightly,

    and the rhythms never change.

Equality, and I will be free.

Equality, and I will be free.

  • Yet another poem i need the meaning of.?

When I was young I looked high and low for a father,

And what blond sons you must have tried on then!

But only your blood could give us our two men

And in the end we settled for on another.

Whatever death is, it sets pretenders free.

The secret loss or boy or self-defense

That won me your affectionate pretense

Is in a grave. Now you judge only me.

But like a living son I go on railing

A little, or praising under my breath,

Not knowing the generosity of death,

Fearing your judgment on my old failing.

Dear ghost, take pleasure in our good report,

And bully me no further with my blame.

You use my eyes at last; I sign your name

Deliberately beneath my life and art.

  • Can anyone tell me the meaning of this poem?

Long live the weeds that overwhelm

    My narrow vegetable realm!—

The bitter rock, the barren soil

    That force the son of man to toil;

All things unholy, marked by curse,

    The ugly of the universe.

The rough, the wicked, and the wild

    That keep the spirit undefiled.

With these I match my little wit

And earn the right to stand or sit,

Hope, look, create, or drink and die:

These shape the creature that is I.

  • Can someone tell me the meaning of this poem? Here's the beginning: When those who can never again forgive the

Finish their dinners, rear up from the chair,

Turning to movies, are caught in demonstrations

Sweeping the avenues- meet them there.

Watch how their faces change like traffic light-

Bold blood gone green as horses pound the street,

As the plates of sweated muscle push

    Them squarely back into retreat.

    Notice their tremulous late overthrow,

Caught irresponsible; as the first rank presses

Up at the brown animal breast of law,

    Defying government by horses.

And after the quick night-flurry, the few jailed,

The march stampeded, the meeting stopped, go down

Night-streets to unique rooms where horror ends,

Strike-songs are sung, and the old songs remain.

    Vaguely Ilonka draws her violin

Along to Bach, greatest of trees, where under

    Earth is again familiar, grandmother,

    And very god-music branches overhead.

Changeable spirit! Build a newer music

Rich enough to feed starvation on.

Course down the night, past scenes of horror, among

    Children awake, lands ruined, begging

  • Can anyone tell me what this poem means?

    And…and so it goes:

As the thread outlasts the spool,

    So the thorn, the rose.

    Time observes its rule:

    Each instant leaps back into

    The dark lilied pool.

    It sprang from. Each blue

    Tile along the garden wall

Ends where it has to go

    End, in a thin scrawl

Of grout that marks out its grave.

    Summer comes to fall.

    Though breathing and brave,

The sentence stops, that must burn

    The air in its cave.

    Thus our great concern –

Feeling shut in by the wall

    Of our own pattern –

    Seems quite natural:

    Even with some makeshift plan,

    How to keep it all

    Going, how to fan

    The embers of aftermath

    Up now into an

    Even flame – not wrath

Nor sudden lust yielded to –

    But light on a path

    That would continue

Until some kind of an end

    Crept up into view

    From around the bend

Or straight toward us from the dark

    Who but would extend

    That path, keep the spark

    Still left glowing, nursed along

    A last walk through stark

    Finality? (Strong

Last words will count more than fond
