  • Babysitting rates... Help for 10 points!?

    Here is the back story:

Last summer I babysat two children of people that I go to church with. Not exactly "family friends" but not strangers either. I babysat them from 8 to 3 everyday and got payed 20 dollars a day.

Now, I've been asked to babysit them again. I need to make some money as I am 18 and will be going off to college soon. I have already decided that I will do it, and she told my mother that she would pay me more money.

What would be a good rate? The children are 7 and 13 years old. I would be watching over them for 7 to 8 hours each day. Responsibilities include making sure they eat, keeping them occupied, fixing lunch, finding something fun/educational to do, making sure they don't fight, and don't spend too much time on the computer, etc. etc. Last year I had to drive the 13 year old to cross country 3 days a week, and I had to drive both children to the library at least twice a week if not more (Each is about 10 minutes away). I paid for my own gas, but if we bought a snack or supplies for a craft the mom usually paid.

I will accept whatever increase she offers to pay, because I like the family, but I'm also curious as to what the going rate is.

Thanks, and I hope this wasn't too confusing! :)

  • Healthy baking (low sodium and sugar) questions?

I have five questions. Whoever answers the most with the best information gets 10 points!

(P.S. You don't have to answer them all!)

    1. How do you bake without using baking soda and baking powder? I am not able to get low sodium versions.

    2. What is the best natural substitute for sugar in baking recipes (not splenda or any sweetener)? (Like what fruit or concentrate tastes the best?)

    3. Any healthy, low sodium, no sugar added (except for fruit) recipes...

    4. What is better to use in healthy baking? Oatmeal, whole wheat flour??

    5. How do you make them taste good when you are cutting down on fat, sugar and sodium. Any extra recipes or tips?

THANK YOU, and if you need someone to answer your questions, just let me know!

  • Animal names? 10 points!!!?

My two previous cats were named vince (after vincent van gogh) and leo (after leonardo divinci). I want to name my next kitten after a famous artist, but have came up empty handed. Any cute artist nicknames are welcomed as well, and if you can't think of any artists, famous literature or scientific pioneers are fine too. Thanks!

  • What to be when I grow up?? 10 points!?

I have always wanted to be a teacher when I grow up, but because of the low salary, I am deterred. I am at the top of my class in my junior year and usually get all A's. I am fairly good in all subjects and here are my interests:

    -Math and Algebra

    -Creative Writing

    -Reading

    -Tutoring/Teaching

    -Maybe Medical or Law-NOT sure

    -Nutrition/Eating Healthy

Please give me a list of occupations that fit my interests. If there is a type of teaching job with a higher salary that you find, great, but otherwise, I would like the occupation list have reasonable salaries. *Starting salaries, not the top 10% salaries.

Thank you! 10 points to top answer!

  • Cell phone water damage? Help!?

During volleyball practice I noticed that my sports bag was a little wet, picked up, and a whole gush of water came spurting out the end. NOT GOOD!

So, I got everything out and checked my phones. Yes, plural PHONES. (We are trying out to see if Sprint is better than Verizon, so I compare the signal strength on both phones).

Anyways, my samsung intercept was completely off, and my (Verizon) older model chocolate had a weird colored screen and wasn't working.

So I removed the batteries and had my mom come pick them up and she put them in bowls of rice.

    My questions are:

    1. Does it matter if it is in a bowl or bag? Is there a difference?

    2. Does it matter if it is brown or white rice?

    3. Should I have each piece in a separate bowl? (Right now I have each phone's pieces in 2 bowls)

    4. Should they be completely submerged in rice?

    5. How long should I wait to try and see if they work?

    6. When should I give up, if they don't work?

    7. And should I change the rice every day? Or just leave the same rice in there...?

Any answers to the questions above would be GREAT!!

10 points to whoever best answers my question (all 7 would be nice).

    Thank you!

BTW: I already asked this once and got great answers, but I would like to hear some different opinions. Both questions will get the best answer!!

And should I change the rice every day? Or just leave the same rice in there...?

Read because they are a great author?

  • Energy saving websites?

What is the difference between the energy saving websites?

I was feeling a little green today so I decided to look up BLACKLE. People were telling me about so I decided it would be cool. I typed it into yahoo and three engines came up: blackle, earthle and the green spider. There are probably more, but I was just curious to know how much energy they save, how much that helps and maybe which one is the best!

Any help is welcomed. I will choose the most informative answer for 10 points!

    Thanks so MUCH!!!

  • I need help finding a swimming pool online?

I am looking for a 52 inch pool. It has to have a diameter wider than 15ft or be under 500 dollars or it could be wider for under 1000.

It can be a metal frame pool or an actual pool. Preferably above ground, but thats probably all you can find anyways :)

Give me a couple of websites and you will get the 10 pts.

To break ties give me your opinion of what type of pool to get.

    Thanks!
