Drilling into a wrought iron railing. The screws I will be using are 8 - 3/4 sheet metal screws.

What size drill bit should I use for the holes?

Any other recommendations would help as well.

I have a washer that crapped out with matching dryer that still works. While the same model # is still available, its apparent the unit is defective and will die for the same reason in five or so years based on my and everyone else on the web who has owned one's experience so I would prefer to buy a more reliable unit.

Any experience stacking non matching washers and dryers? Is there a universal stacking kit available?

We have a Kenmore Stackable Front Loading Washer 417.44042400.

Over the weekend heard a banging during the final spin and stopped it. The inner drum seems looser than nornal, doesnt hand spin as smoothly, almost as if it is off track. Took a look at lower panel and the two shocks seem good, did not see any damage. No access to the top with dryer up there.

I see SEARS service is a flat $129 plus parts. Any thoughts on the problem, expected expense to repair?

We have a Rheem oil furnace in the basement. When we set the thermostat to AUTO and HEAT the fan never comes on and eventually the heat shuts off. If we set it to FAN, it works but we do not want to constantly run the fan if it can be avoided. The thermostat is a basic non programmable Honeywell.

Is this possibly a fuse? If so where would it be located?

Other potential candidates? Anything beyond the fuse may require someone more technically inclined with HVAC, but I'd be curious to know what it could be.

Bought last week, have receipt and original packaging but box has been opened. Any experience?

..just started all of a sudden. When I turn off the valve on the water supply line to the tank the leak stops even if water is in the tank. It does not however appear to be from the screw on connection at the end of this line to the tank which i removed and tightened but from the base of the tank itself and the piece the line screws into.

Turned on the heat for the first time this year and noticed the fan will not blow with HEAT and AUTO FAN. However it works with HEAT and FAN ON setting. Both fan settings work when set to COOL.

Any thoughts on a DIY fix if possible? I do not have access now to give the model # but it is a rectangular Honeywell thermostat, non programmable.

Over the weekend not long after filling up the gas tank the check engine light went on. Had the codes read yesterday at Autozone...

P0125 - re:fuel coolant

P0135 - Os2 Sensor bank 1

P0141 - Os2 Sensor bank 1

Hard for me to believe both sensors in that bank happened to fail at the same time unless its electrical, something else possibly causing these codes?

I have been commuting a round trip of 70 miles each day this week without issue but do not want to push it. Get regular oil changes, full synthetic and keep maintenance up for the most part. I know a transmission flush was recommended last time I got oil changed.

Thoughts?

Set is about 5 years old right now. Standby light flashes 6 times, pauses, repeats.

Tried to leave unplug overnight and plug back in, no go. Tried direct plug to wall as opposed to cable box with same result.

Any idea on repair required or estimate of cost?

We have a Kenmore Stackable Front Loading Washer 417.44042400. After a regular wash cycle finished this evening the door has not unlocked. Tried to set the wash to the end of the cycle a few times to see if the latch would spring but it has not.

Any fixes? Or at least a way to temporarily open so that the wash can be removed while waiting for service?

Kenmore washer won't start at all at any setting, no lights on machine, etc. A day ago a circuit breaker tripped, went to wash today and nothing. I check the outlet for power and it is fine but the machine will not start. Tried jiggling the knob after pulling out to start in case a connection was not hitting, but that did not start it either. Thoughts?

I know its after the catalytic converter, just passenger or driver side and whereabouts in the exhaust system? Easy to access?

Additionally, if I am going to change the one giving the SES- P0161 code, should I change the other as well or wait til it goes?
