How to get over a work crush?
There's a woman at work. I have a massive crush on her, which is causing me a great deal of emotional pain.
I'm so shy around her I can hardly look at her, and she seems to do the same around me. Either she has a crush on me too, or she just isn't interested. I strongly suspect the latter.
I need to get over her but her office is almost opposite mine! I do change offices soon, though I will still have to work alongside her.
Any ideas for getting over her? Every time I see her it makes my heart hurt.
1 AnswerSingles & Dating1 decade agoWho wrote this book, and what is it called?
I am looking for a book that my ex girlfriend owned many years ago which I really enjoyed reading. I think there were actually 2 or more books, and they were short rules for living, written by a father for his son, e.g. "Never drive with hot coffee between your knees" and "Invent a sign so that you can tell your wife you love her from across a crowded room". Does anyone know who wrote this book and what it's called, please?
3 AnswersBooks & Authors1 decade agoCan one cat break another cat's leg?
My neighbour has a 12 week old kitten which she is letting outside. Trouble is, the kitten doesn't know that up until now my neighbour's garden has been the territory of one of my cats.
She claims that my cat has "very badly broken" the kitten's leg. I have seen the kitten and whereas the leg is shaved, it is not plastered. I am not even convinced that the leg is broken.
My question is: can one cat bite another cat so hard that it breaks its leg?
5 AnswersCats1 decade agoWhat is this film?
I saw a film about 10 years ago about plane crashes. What was actually happening in the film was that extra terrestrials were taking the plane and replacing the passengers with "copies", because they had seen proof of the extra terrestrials. There was a scene where the passengers were going up an escalator away from the plane, and on the other escalator, going down towards the plane, were corpse-like copies of all the passengers.
I can't for the life of me remember the name of this film. Does anyone know what I'm talking about?
4 AnswersMovies1 decade agoWhy do drunks in the UK drink in parks?
I don't know if this holds true for other countries, but in the UK, drunks (alcoholics) often seem to have a tendency to gather together on benches in local parks and drink their brew of choice (usually strong lager or cider). Generally they are quite peaceful, they just sit and drink (though you get the odd shouty one).
Why do they do this? Sometimes they congregate in pretty cold weather. Wouldn't they be more comfortable at home in a chair if they're going to drink that much?
Yesterday when I was getting out of my car I saw a guy on the park bench who was so paralytic he didn't know where he was. He appeared to be trying to post a letter into thin air. It was very sad...

The husband of a friend of mine had suffered all his life with terrible clinicial depression. during these times he was completely unresponsive, would not eat, wash or shave, and his entire life was torment. Two weeks ago he hung himself. He left a wife and grown-up children.
Was it better for him to end his torment by taking his own life? Or should he have continued to suffer in this way?
