I bought a very long, modacrylic wig for a cosplay costume. It's in pretty good condition being it's new, I would just like to get some tangles out, and give it an all over smoother look and texture. I would also like protect it from future damage and tangles. Is there any sort of precautions I should take, or any sort of product I should use to get out the tangles and keep them out?

Alright so exactly a week from today I'm going to be going out to Baltimore, MD for Otakon 2010. I'm looking for anyone who's ever gone to this event, and to tell me a little about it. I've been to anime/manga conventions before, and i'm just wondering if there's anything about Otakon that makes it distinctive from other conventions, or if there's anything I need to look out for, make sure i'm prepared with...etc. Also, I would like to know how much money I should bring with me (excluding admission fee) and how cosplay is received there.
