Something is wrong with my knee but not sure what?
Hi, so I was running pretty fast and I tripped over a rock. My leg got twisted. My ankle is sore and I think I pulled some muscles in my calf (the rear muscles). My knee, however, is so painful. I'm not sure what happened to it but I can't walk on it without a brace. I can't bend it without more pain. Without a brace on, the pain is about a 7/8. With a brace it's about 4/5. Advil and Ibuprofen help a little. It's getting a tiny bit better each day but it's still really painful. Should I go see a doctor? My mother (she's been a nurse for 20+yrs) thinks it's just twisted and that there's nothing a doctor can do. It just hurts so bad!! My job requires a lot of walking and I work 10+hr shifts which isn't helping it at all. How can I make it heal faster? I'm 18 btw if that means anything.
1 AnswerInjuries8 years agoI turned him down but I might have changed my mind? I don't know what I want?
Sorry if this is long! So there's this guy that I work with that I like a lot. We started talking about a month and a half ago. We were texting 24/7 and we both started to like each other. So we started hanging out and saw a movie. went bowling, cuddled a couple of times. I've met his mom and his best friends. We never kissed though. but we came close. I like him so sooo much but I told him two nights ago that I didn't want a serious relationship right before going to college (I'm 18) so I asked if we could just have a summer thing. He said no, that he wanted a real relationship and that he's not that kind of guy. So we just agreed to stop. He was really understanding and nice about it. I know I hurt him a lot but I would have felt worse if I led him on and broke up with him when I left for college
.
Even though this happened 2 nights ago, I'm already having second thoughts. Am I doing the right thing? I'm taking a year off just to work so I'm not going to college till next fall. So maybe I would have changed my my mind by then and decided I wanted to stay with him? But here's my problem, it would be long distance since we aren't going to college in the same state, my parents won't let me date until I move out *yeah, they're crazy over protective*, and I'm a christian and he doesn't believe in God, and he's not the cutest, but I'm starting to see past that. (I have this bad tendency to be shallow with looks) And he's my supervisor at my job (he's 19) so that could get awkward.. But other than that, he's so perfect. He's sweet and always there for me. He listens to me even when I'm ranting or upset. He can make me laugh even when I feel like crying. I just feel so happy around him. I miss him so much and it's only been two days. He would have been my first boyfriend.
What do you guys think? Did I do the right thing by ending things? Do I really want him back or do I just miss the attention? I don't want to hurt him anymore than I already have. I hate myself for hurting him. Maybe I should just wait a couple more weeks and see how I feel then? I saw him yesterday at work and he was really nice and said we can still be friends. But it hurts to be around him. I still really like him. I just don't know if I can handle a relationship or if I even want one. Please tell me what to do. </3
1 AnswerSingles & Dating8 years agoYoung adult paranormal romance books with a hate-turns to love-relationship? :)?
Hi there :) So I'm looking for a young adult book in the paranormal romance genre where a boy and a girl hate each other in the beginning but start to love each other by the end. I'd like a book similar to Obsidian by Jennifer Armentrout? I can't stand those books where the guy meets the girl and bam! they're in love. *Insert eyeroll here* But if you don't know a book like I was looking for, do you have any other good paranormal romance books? I like books that have a good love story to them but it has lots of action too, not just pages and pages of making out. Thanks!!
3 AnswersBooks & Authors8 years agoI don't know what to do about my horse? Seriously, it's making me very depressed..?
Hi there. I'll try to keep this short(-ish?). So I got my horse 2 years ago (I was 16). He's a 11 yr old Pinto Arabian cross (very good bloodlines) but looks/acts completely Arab. Everyone is always shocked that he's 11 because he looks/acts like he's 4. He's on the short side (14.5-15 hands) but he's very high energy and has an attitude that makes up for it. Honestly, although it had been my lifelong dream to get a horse, I was not prepared. The only experience I had was working at a stable for six months. Koda's previous owner was getting too old to ride. When I got him, Koda had not been ridden in over 2 years. Sadly, I didn't know then what I know now and didn't recognize the behaviour issues he was forming.I took lessons for 2 months and for awhile everything seemed great. Koda started coughing a lot and then his nose started found out Koda had heaves AND asthma AND severe allergies . The vet said it started before I got him and the previous owner probably thought it was just a cold. He had to be on steroids for long time because his breathing was so bad. He got really underweight and wasn't eating. You could see all of his ribs and his hips were so pointy. It's really hard to keep weight on him because he is always pacing. It was very scary. With the help of the vet and the stable, we figured out a diet for him. He eats soaked alfalfa pellets with senior feed to help keep his weight up. The vet told us not to give him round bales anymore because he was breathing in too much dust. We have him on very high quality hay that is soaked. He gets wormed every month. He is actually getting quite chunky! Which is such a relief. But he doesn't do very well in the summer, especially when it's super hot. That's when his heaves are worse. I don't know what to do for the summertime. Any suggestions?? Although his health has been resolved, I don't know what to do about his behaviour. I have been out of town for 5 months working but there is no indoor arena at the stable so we can't ride during the winter anyways because of all the ice. Here are the issues Koda has:
1. Crowding. This drives me up the wall. He has no respect for my personal space and when I'm leading him he always steps on the back of my heels. Koda's previous owner thought this was really sweet, like Koda was following him like a dog but I don't think he realized that it was bad behaviour.
2.Charging the gate. Ugh, this is the worst! Because I've been gone, the girls who own the stable (friends of mine) are taking care of him for me. Well they aren't very, um, strict with him. He never did this with me before but when they take him out of his pasture in the morning this is what he has been doing lately. When I went home to visit, I worked with him on it for about an hour and he was doing really good. But the girls who own the stable don't discipline him at all when he rushes out like that and it's just plain dangerous. They just swing open the gate and run out of the way. It's so irritating. I can't be there every day with school and work and college coming up; and when I finally teach him to walk through it they just let him do whatever the heck he wants to.
3.When we're riding on trails, I think he gets kind of spooked or something but he tries to to turn around constantly and or he tries to constantly go faster. He just wants to go, go,go all the time. How do I get him to relax? I know alot of the hyperness is because of the feed he's on to help him gain weight. I have also tried lunging him but he is also pretty out of shape so he starts wheezing pretty bad and sometimes he'll cough. I just don't know what to do.
4.He is the worst trailer loader. Ever. I don't think his previous owner ever taught him how to load. It took over an hour to get Koda into the trailer when I bought him. It took four people just to get him in.
I'm going to college in the fall and I'd really like to find a good home for him that will love him and hopefully there will be someone who can do a much better job that me to keep him in line. It's just..he has all these issues. I mean, yeah, we have his heaves under control but he's a lot more work than other horses. Do you think anyone will buy him? I paid 1000 for him . I know I won't get that for him. To be honest, I'm more focused on him getting a home that will love him and can handle him. I just don't have the time and I really really don't have the money with college so close. I feel very guilty, like I failed my horse. He deserves a lot better than me. So if you have any advice or suggestions I would really love to hear it? Please be nice. I already feel bad enough.
5 AnswersHorses8 years agoWhat to do with my pants?? Help!?
Hi ya'll, so I just got hired at Six Flags Great America this week. I got my uniform today and let's just say they leave a little something to be desired. Ha. Anyways, the pants do not fit. I tried on a 2 (the smallest size they have; although I wear a one in jeans) and the Wardrobe lady said they were too tight. I tried on a four which fit great except they were a little long and the lady said they were still too tight. *sigh So then she makes me try on a 6 which she says fit great. HA! No, they do not. The waist I can live with but the rest of it is awful. The legs are so baggy it looks like I have no legs at all and they are so long I have to fold them up to make them the length of everybody elses. I asked her to hem them and she kept saying they were the perfect length over and over. It was so frustrating! The legs are so huge/long on me. It's embarrassing. And she says they don't need to be hemmed. So I'm washing them right now to see if they shrink but it they don't is it okay to go to a tailor and have them hemmed and tapered? I don't want/need them to be skin tight, I would just like to not look like I'm wearing navy tree trunks. Also the material is so stiff that it chafes my legs. Will fabric softener fix that? Thanks!
2 AnswersFashion & Accessories9 years agoPlease help with my horse?
So I have had my horse for about a year or so. He's a Pinto-Arabian (Pintabian) although he looks completely
Arab, except his socks are a little high. He is very high strung and full of energy. His previous owner hadn't ridden him for two years (which he failed to mention when I bought him) and he had a lot of behavior issues that I didn't know about. He was doing really well last summer and he had improved alot but the stable I am keeping him at doesn't have an indoor arena so I wasn't able to ride him at all during the winter. Alot of his old habits came back. I am trying to work him up to trail riding for the fall but he is very stubborn and he gets jumpy. His one major issue is that he refuses to stop on command. He will stop on a dime when leading on the ground. But he refuses to stop when lunging or when I'm in the saddle. I haven't been riding for very long so I am pretty much a newbie and I don't know very much. I have asked advice from people and they said to "lunge the heck out of him until he stops when you want him to." The problem with that is that he developed a mild case of heaves last year and he had to be put on predizalone for a couple months (Sorry if that's not spelled right) and he only eats pellets/grass now. His breathing is great in the winter but it gets bad when it's really warm out (75+). So I can't really run him like you can another horse because he gets out of breath very easily. Some people said he's out of breath because he was out of shape when I got him or because of his lungs or because he thinks that if he breathes hard he won't have to work anymore. I really don't know what to do! I'm only 17 and I don't have a lot of experience, or money. Should I hire a trainer or do you think I can do it on my own? I don't want to risk making his behavior worse just because I'm new to this. What do you all think??
Also I am working on getting him to stay out of my personal space. This issue I blame completely on his previous owner. The other owner thought it was "cute" when the horse would push him with his nose or follow him so closely when he was leading that he would step on the back of his shoes. Personally, I find it irritating because I don't like being pushed around and I don't like him stepping on my feet. Any tips on getting him to back off? I don't use crops or whips and I want to be as non-violent as possible.
Thanks!
8 AnswersHorses9 years agoIs this normal for my dog or should I be worried?
Lately (as in the last couple of weeks) I have noticed that my dog has tears draining from her eyes. It is mostly all fluid, except it is a tiny bit goopy right in the corner of her eye like the protein people get in their eyes when they wake up. She is a 5 year old Australian Cattle Dog. She's really healthy. She is outside alot during the day though so maybe it is allergies? I have been using a damp wash cloth to clean her eyes twice a day but she looks really miserable. Is there anything I can do to get rid of it permanently? I know lots of smaller breeds have tear stains but she has never had this before. Any advice? Thanks!
5 AnswersDogs9 years agoShould I take my dog to the vet??? Plz help!?
My dog, Angel, is a four year old Australian Cattle Dog. She had a malignant cyst in one of her breasts that we had removed last year. Now there are tiny, little bumps around that area where the cyst used to be and they seem to be getting bigger. I don't know for sure if they are growing or not..Maybe I am just paranoid. They are just small bump-like nodes beneath her skin. You can definitely feel them and you can sort of see them if she rolls over so you can rub her belly. You have to stretch the skin a tiny bit to make them visible though. I'm just not sure what it could be. It's not a solid mass like the last time. Just little tiny ones. Any ideas on what it could be? I think I should take her to the vet, if anything just for some peace of mind. Our vet is really expensive and if you guys don't think it's serious, I would like to save my money. I'm only 17 and I'm trying to save up for college, but if you do think it's serious or should definitely be checked out I will gladly take her. My dog's health is very important to me and she's my best friend. I don't want to risk anything happening to her. So should I? Thanks for your help :)
4 AnswersDogs9 years agoHow do I keep my caramel from getting so hard?!?
Hi! So I'm having a birthday party on Friday and I always make a cheesecake. Well this year I am making this English Toffee recipe and it calls for the caramel pieces. Everytime I melt those they pour onto the cake really nice but after I refrigerate it the caramel gets really hard and impossible to cut without smushing the cheesecake. Is there anyway to keep the caramel pliant enough that I can cut it without ruining the rest of the cake? I melt them in a saucepan with a bit of water. Am I heating it too hot? Would I be better off just making my own sauce? The only problem with that is that I need a sauce that will be soft enough that you can cut it but stiff enough that it won't run off the cake. Thanks for your help!! :)
4 AnswersCooking & Recipes9 years agoDo I have a sleep disorder?
Hi! So everytime I get in a car or moving vehicle I fall asleep after two minutes. (I know because people have timed me.) It's just as soon as the car starts moving I get so relaxed and I just immediately feel sleepy. I go to bed at 11 everynight and I get up at 8 so it's not like I'm not getting enough sleep. I also fall asleep at my school desk or when I sit down to watch tv. Everytime I sit down for a long time I just fall right asleep. It started out just in the car but now I fall asleep almost everywhere. I'm 17 and I want to get my license but if I'm constantly falling asleep I need to figure out what's wrong first. Any ideas?
4 AnswersMental Health10 years agoColored Contacts??? Yes or no?
So I wanted to try some colored contacts. You know, just for fun. But do you have to have a prescription? I know you can get the non prescription kind but I have heard it can be really bad for your eyesight if the contact isn't made specifically for your eye. I already wear glasses so would it be better to just go in for a contact exam and get some prescription colors? I just don't want to give my eye an infection or anything. Or does anyone know a safe trustworthy site where you can get non prescription colored contacts that are safe to wear? Thanks alot :)
7 AnswersOther - Beauty & Style10 years agoWhat to do about heaves for my horse?
Hi, so my horse is a ten year old Pinto-Arabian (although he looks/acts completely Arab). I bought him late August of 2010. He had had a slight cold over the winter but his previous owner had been treating him with antibiotics and it was almost completely gone. When I moved him to the stables, his cough started to get worse. He is kept outside as much as possible unless there is really bad weather. Last winter he ended up hurting his leg and it started to swell so we put him in a stall so we could take care of it better. The next morning he had really gummy mucous coming out of his nose and he was coughing really bad. He also would groan really loud too like something was stuck in his throat. We called the vet right away and treated him with prednazilone (not sure how to spell that srry) and he was doing alot better. He gained alot of weight and coughing was almost gone. Once it got to be late spring and summer came he started coughing again. Now he has dropped a ton of weight (you can see all of his ribs) and he has to work really hard to breath. He wheezes alot too (like an asthmatic). We were supposed to have his teeth floated today but the vet couldn't sedate him because he was already having trouble breathing. So we are going to put him back on the prednizalone for a week to try get his breathing back to normal. Any advice on how to control the heaves? I know there is no cure as of yet but is there a way to at least lessen the effects? I can't ride him for very long because he starts coughing really bad and it is hard for him to catch his breath. I also need to help him gain alot of weight because he is far too skinny even though he eats all the time. The vet said because he works so hard to breathe it is making him burn all the food that he eats before it can turn into fat or whatever. I keep him outside all the time because he is allergic to some sort of dust in the barn. His pasture is dry so it can get pretty dusty in there if the wind is going. I have noticed that he doesn't have as many problems when it is cold and a little rainy. Any ideas? Thanks in advance
1 AnswerHorses10 years agoGingivectomy coming up?
I have to get a gingivectomy, a fiberotomy, and franectomy all on the same day!! My appointment was supposed to be in August but they had a cancellation and it got moved up to this Wednesday! So I am kind of freaked out since it has all been moved up to so soon. I know that the gingivectomy is done with a laser but I don't know about the other two. Has anyone had any of these procedures done? I am also supposed to get the laughing gas (although I don't know if I will have it during the whole thing). I have really really bad anxiety issues so I was wondering if there was anything that I could take before hand to calm my nerves? Also, is there anything I can use that will make my gums extra numb? I am already getting Novicaine but I want them to be the as numb as possible. Any tips/suggestions??
1 AnswerDental10 years agoTop five Victoria's Secret Garden Body Sprays?
I found this deal where you can get 6 bottles (different ones, of course) for 35 dollars but I am not surre which ones to get. They all sound so good!! I have three I am sure about :Love Spell, Pure Seduction, and Amber Romance. Endless Love and Wild Scarlet sounded really good too, but they both have apple in them so I am worried they will smell the same? Luscious Kisses sounded delicious. What are your favorites?? Oh and do guys really like Love Spell as much as I have heard?? haha thanks :)
4 AnswersOther - Beauty & Style10 years agoSurgery at the orthodontist???? Need advice please!?
Next month I am supposed to get a gingevectomy AND a fiberotomy all in the same appointment. They say it will take about an hour and fifteen minutes (which seems super long to me). I am supposed to have a consultation next Monday and I do NOT want to be conscious for this whole thing. I get really nervous whenever I am at the ortho's office and I tend to freak out/hyperventilate/etc. They told me that the normal procedure is to just give you some shots in the gums and numb you up but even when I get a cavity drilled I can still feel it. So which is better :the nitro or being put to sleep? I just don't want to be able to feel it, I don't want to be awake! Just thinking me about it freaks me out. So which is better? Any advice? Has anyone had either of these procedures done? Did it take long to heal? How did you feel afterward? Thanks :)
2 AnswersDental10 years agoHow do I keep my face from sweating?!?!?
Hey everyone! Ok so, I am leaving for camp at the end of July and everytime I go it is always really hot. (Last year we had a heat index of a hundred and ten). At this camp we actually sleep in army tents, not cabins, and it is sweltering all day. My makeup slides right off cuz there is no air conditioning and we are constantly running around, playing soccer etc. I love running but I also hate looking like my face is melting. So I bought a loose powder that works fine if I am only out in the heat for two hours. But I'm going to be out in the heat for a whole week! So hopefully you can see my dilemma... So are there anyways to make my makeup stay put? And plz don't say go without it because sorry, that won't happen. So any products, suggestions, ideas??? Thanks
5 AnswersMakeup10 years agoI really need to get a job!!!?
Ok so I am a 16 year old and I really need to get a job. But my parent's work from noon to 10 p.m. on. So I need a job from 11 p.m. to 12 noon. But fast food places don't hire teens for the pm shifts. And my parents won't let me get my license untill I can pay for the insurance myself (whis is one of the reasons I need a job). I would love to work with pets. I have plenty of experience with them. I have a horse and ten other pets beside. I am also really good with kids but I need to get my babysitters license first and take some CPR classes. I am good at manual labor: mowing, raking, sweeping, lifting etc. I can cook pretty well too. But probably not a professional level. I am a fast learner and I am also home schooled so other than my parent's work schedules, I am very flexible. Does anyone know any jobs that hire for early morning that I could do? Please, I have been searching the web for hours and hours every day and I either A. don't qualify because I'm under 18 or B.you have to have prior experience. This is my first job (well, other than my previous one where I worked at a stable, but I didn't get paid for that). So if you have and advice/suggestions/help I would really really appreciate it!!! Thanks

Hey everyone, so I signed up for YourIpodTouch4Free.com on the Transcending Innovations site. I am doing the referrals instead of the poinst, btw.
