Watched this movie a long time ago, can't remember the title.

Middle aged guy befriends an old wealthy widow by helping her choose a fashionable hat in a store. He convinces her to leave him money in her will, then she's murdered, so he becomes the prime suspect and is taken to trial. his (seemingly cold) wife (Christine?) gives testimony against him, and she seems to hate him, so even though she's implying that he COULD be the killer, the jury doesn't trust her as a witness because they suspect she's just trying to put him away. later he's found not guilty, and it turns out Christine's entire testimony was all an act to fool the jury into reasonable doubt, and that she doesn't hate her husband at all. but when his mistress emerges, Christine goes crazy and shoots/stabs her husband right there in the empty courtroom.

Watched this movie a long time ago, can't remember the name. About a middle aged man who befriends an old, wealthy widow, then is accused of murdering her. He is tried in court, his wife (Christine?) testifies for him but she seems to hate him and seems reluctant to help him. I remember this pivotal scene of him standing in court screaming that he is innocent. After he is found not guilty, it turns out that Christine gave the lawyer false evidence, and that her "I hate my husband" testimony was all an act, so he really was guilty. But then when it is revealed that her husband has another lover, she (stabs? shoots?) her husband right there in the empty courtroom.

During the scene in Coach Carson's room when he brings in his prostitute friend for KC. There's a song playing, it is a dance-y type of song, with both a guy and girl singing. The only lyrics I can hear are

"I feel all right. I feel all right"

"The only thing I really want from you"

and then either "I really want you too" or "You really want me too" or it could be both.

I was watching this last night and had some confusion.

- At one point, Borden's wife Sarah said, "I know what you are" and then he gets really angry and defensive about it. Does that mean she knows he is living as a double? Or is that British vernacular for "I know what kind of a lying, cheating bastard you are" ? Because if she knew he were living as a double, she didn't need to commit suicide. So why exactly does she hang herself?

- Borden gives Angier the name "TESLA." What connection could Borden have to Tesla if it didn't involve the clone machine? So does that mean Borden/Fallon are not brothers/twins but are actually duplicates from that clone machine? Because he suddenly hires this guy Fallon out of nowhere. Is it possible he had himself cloned just for the purpose of his magic trick?

I know that there used to be a whole lot of discrimination against Jews and that still happens sometimes now in America. But my question is.. how do you even know someone is Jewish?

If this was back in the early 20th century when Jews immigrated here, it'd be easier to tell based on the way they dress/spoke, but nowadays they're very much assimilated into American society, so I can't even tell who's Jewish or not. But it seems like there are people who can just look at a person on the street, or look at a name on paper and know that's a Jewish person.

Then again, I'm a 21-year-old Asian-American who lives in a predominantly Asian community, so maybe I'm not exposed to enough white/Caucasians to be able to tell the differences.

So can someone tell me what last names are common for Jewish people and what physical features are stereotyped/common for Jews?

I can't remember the movie or the actress, and it's driving me crazy!

All I have is a vague recollection in my head about a scene in a bar, or something. One of the main female characters in the movie is holding her martini drink, and is about to take a sip from it, but realizes the glass is empty, she looks mildly annoyed. Then she takes the skewered olives from her glass and eats the olive in an exasperated/annoyed fashion.

DOES ANYBODY KNOW WHAT MOVIE I AM TALKING ABOUT?

I'm a 21 year old female who's been trying to update my wardrobe. Before now all I had were t-shirts, jeans, and sneakers, but I'm trying to go for a more older and stylish look.

Wearing sneakers all my life has made me used to wearing socks. This past winter I wore fashion boots, which were nice because it was comfortable, stylish AND I got to wear socks. But now spring is coming up, and I don't know what shoes besides sneakers are

- comfortable

- look grown-up

- and can be worn with socks

Do you ladies have any suggestions?? If you could provide links to certain shoes, it would be really helpful. Thank you all in advance.

P.S. I know that typical summer shoes are tennis shoes, flats, and sandals. I'm looking for anything that can be worn with socks, that I can wear with casual-to-dressy attire.

Hi, a little while ago there was a Law & Order (original series) episode re-run where the team discovers a dead woman in the trunk of a car at the end of the episode; she was bloody and apparently murdered. I didn't catch her name, but I was under the impression that she was either a central character to the series or one of the defense attorneys who make occasional appearances from time to time. Do you know who I'm talking about?? I really appreciate it if you could tell me her name and who she was. Thank you!

This happened a while ago, but I'd like to know how to handle this better in the future. I ran into an old high school classmate of mine, and of course we talk awhile, but as we get ready to say goodbye, he asks for my phone number. I really didn't want to give it out, but suddenly I didn't know how to refuse in a polite way without having to blatantly lie.

Ladies, how would you react in a similar situation?

Guys, what could a girl say to not hurt your feelings?

I realize the common answers would be (1) give out a fake number, or (2) tell him that I have a boyfriend. I'm interested in alternatives, however.

I met this guy two years ago, but he had a gf and I had a bf. Shortly after, we both became single again, coincidentally. Over the years we'd talk sometimes and he'd drop hints that he was interested in me, but it didn't go anywhere because we live six hours apart. Suddenly a few months ago I was compelled to contact him, and so we started to talk again. We began finding out more about each other and realized how perfect we are for one another. Each of us is exactly what the other is looking for. Even though long-distance relationships are tough, we are both up to it. I get the feeling that marriage is definitely a possibility if we wanted it. However, there is one major problem: I don't feel sexually attracted to him. At all. I will definitely tell him the truth soon, but in the meantime, could you please tell me HOW this could be happening? If he's the best guy I've ever met, why don't I have romantic feelings for him?
