Tad W
I am an opinionated, contrarian 50 year old father of between 8 (biological) and 13 (biological plus step and former step) children. I am interested in all things related to children, including education, adoption, parenting, etc. You can find my crazy ramblings on these and other subjects at http://insidetadsmind.blogspot.com/ I'm also a technical theatre geek, a bibliophile, and an audiophile. I find philosophy, history, math, and economics fascinating. From a religious point of view, I'd describe myself as "esoteric eclectic." I despise all forms of religious bigotry, especially those that arrogate to themselves some sort of monopoly on truth or the right to judge others, while I think there is something of value in all cultus and mythology. You may find me arguing either or both sides of religious questions.
Religious Influence on Adoption?
I am looking for birth parents and adoptive parents that were motivated by religious ideals either to relinquish or to adopt. Please tell me what religion influenced you and how it influenced you. Were you counseled by a pastor, priest, bishop or family/friends within your church to relinquish? Did you feel "called" to adopt? If you are considering adoption or relinquishing, how is religion playing in your decision? If the deed is done, how do you feel about the influence religion played in it?
Please feel free to contact me via Y!A message if you prefer. Also, let me know if you are willing to respond to some written interview questions for a paper.
5 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhat are the views of your religion on parenting vs. adoption in unplanned pregnancies?
I am researching a paper on this topic, and I am interested in as many different views as possible. I am aware of some religions that counsel that all unwed mothers should relinquish, and others that practically forbid adoptions. Please describe the views of your religion and why those views are considered correct.
7 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhat does your religion counsel about unplanned pregnancy to the unwed?
I am researching a paper for a religious diversity class. My topic is "Religion's influence on the decision to parent vs. relinquish for adoption in cases of unplanned pregnancy." I am hoping to get a well rounded set of responses representing many different religious views. Please provide whatever background is necessary to illuminate this topic.
