  • Can you help with Daitem Door Entry System Please.?

I have a Daitem D5731GB system that has worked well for a few years. Recently it appears that I have lost radio control between the handset and the control unit. I have tried the precedure as stated in their handbook to regain the radio frequency, all attempts have failed and all I get is white noise and crackling. The handset still operates the electric gate latch and will open that but I cannot use the intercom as the white noise appears again when I press the intercom speak button on the handset. The bell push on the caller unit is working and the bell can be heard at the gate but not indoors on the handset.

    Any ideas? Many thanks

Also, if you think that i may need a new handset can you tell me which model handset is compatible with this system. Thanks.

  • Bossy Dog. Any suggestions please?

I have had my Beardie ***** for 6 years since she was a tiny Pup. She has been a loyal, loving dog full of fun and has welcomed play with other dogs of all shapes and sizes. Recently she has started to grumble and growl at passing dogs and pull at the lead toward them. She is ok with the dogs she knows and likes but for others she seems to want to boss them away. Any tips?

  • Do you have any new tips to manage Psoriasis?

I have recently had to come off of the medication that I was using for my Psoriasis. I wonder if any one out there has found any new, helpful ways to manage theirs, particularly on their face and hands.

    Many thanks.

  • Intercom system fault. I need help with fault diagnosis please?

I have a door entry system made up of Caller Unit, Controller and Handset. It has been working well for 4 years. Now the radio communications do not work i.e. the bell sounds on the Caller Unit ok but not indoors on the handset, so I cannot hear when someone calls. When I use the Intercom button the the handset I get a swishy noise and loads of interference but no contact BUT the handset still releases the door catch ok from indoors. Please have you any ideas what may be wrong? and how to fix it as I have tried in vain to get an engineer to call, they all say they are too busy at the moment to take on any more work (and I thought we were in a recession!). Can't come for 2 weeks!

and I need to hear my callers. Many thanks.

  • Help! Can you tell me how to restore a gold varnish on brass item?

I am furious, someone has put my 1950's Heatmaster Tea Service Bowl Cover in the Dishwasher! It is now all cloudy and dull. I have tried tomato sauce, toothpaste, vinegar and salt etc etc etc but still no improvement. Any ideas? It was originally a gold varnish on brass finish.

Also, if I have to respray with a gold varnish What would be the best one to use on a Tea Service

Any advice would be appreciated as I am very sad as it was so beautiful. Thanks.

  • How can i get them to pay me what they owe me?

Their dog attacked my dog causing £47.00 worth of Vets bills. The owner said they would pay the vets bill but when i gave them the invoice it remained unpaid. After a month i paid it myself to save incurring interest and sent a letter to them informing them of this and asking them to reimburse me direct. I have not heard anything from them. They seem to be ignoting my request. I cannot take them to small claims court as there were no witness to the attack other than the owner and myself and she will lie, i know this as she has already lied about accepting the vet's charges. What should i do?.

  • What would you do about a Careless Dog Owner?

My dog was very badly bitten by a dog that lives on the village, whilst she was in my garden. My dog needed veterinary attention and had 6 bites. When i went to tell the owner of the dog what had happened she was dismissive, disinterested and frankly a bit rude. I informed the dog warden and the police but they both said that there was nothing they could do about as it had not bitten a person. But the Community Ploice Liason Officer visited told me that they had warned her to keep her dog contained. Yesterday my neighbour rung me to say that she had seen the owner walking her dog through the village off the lead and that the dog had gone into their garden whilst they were sitting out, off the lead, on it's own and out of the eye of the owner. Minutes later the owner arrived in their garden to collect the dog and acted like it had every right to be there. Fortunately, they do not have a dog of their own. It seems thatthe owner is not heeding the advice of the Police and is blatentley disregarding what has happened. What would you do about it?

I was wondering what you think of Fold Hill Complete Food. It is a new one on me. I am looking to change my Collie's food as she is bored with what she is on at the moment. If you have experience of it what do you think? Thanks

  • What is the best time to feed my dog to stop her wanting to go out in the middle of the night?

My vet suggested that i change my feeding time for my 5 yr old dog from early evening to midday to help with her weight gain, as she said that we could "run off" the calories in the afternoon instead my her going to bed on them. Since i have done this she is waking up around 2am wanting to go out into the yard for a poo. Whereas i can see the logis in this, I cannot let her carry on doing this as it is breaking my sleep and i am tired all the time. Can anyone please suggest a better feeding time for her so that she will start sleeping through the night again and i can get some sleep. Thanks

  • why has my dog become aggressive to other dogs whilst on the lead?

I have a 5 year old Collie Cross *****. I have had her since she was 6 weeks old. She has always been gentle, loving, friendly, well behaved, well socialised, non aggressive, playful with other dogs etc. but now if we are lead walking and another dog approaches near or on the other side of the lane she starts to growl and pull and tries to get to the other dog in an aggresive manner. Also, on the odd occasion that we have met a small Jack Russell type dog and she has been off of her lead, she has attempted to "go for" the other dog. I cannot think what has caused this behaviour and i wonder if anyone has any experience of this and how they dealt with it. Many thanks,
