I Adore My Little Man

I was wondering if anyone has any advice on dealing with this kind of situation. My step-brother has been divorced for years now but has been actively involved in his sons' lives. Goes to all their school events, has them every other weekend/holiday... is just extremely involved in their lives but of course... he doesn't have full custody.

Now... his ex-wife just randomly pulled the kids out of school this week (they are 11 and 9) as well as her other two step-children so that she can home-school them because there are drugs and alcohol in the world... which is actually rather funny because she drinks and smokes pot. Anyway... this woman, who never finished high school and can't even get along with her oldest son and has sent him to my step-brother on many occasions because she can't control him, has decided that homeschooling is the best thing for the kids.

Is there a chance that the courts will rule in favor of public schools?

I've been considering getting a rat for awhile now but I'm still a bit unsure. I've read up on them, but I'd like to know what other people have experienced with rats as pets.

I'm going to my boyfriend's company party this weekend and I haven't the slightest idea what to bring for the gift exchange. The limit is $12 and its a building supply store just to give you an idea of what kind of people will be there. I'm at a loss... alcohol seems to be the most popular gift for this party but I'm not sure I want to do that. Any ideas?

My friend recently received a kitten from a friend of his and now we're having major problems litter training him. We've used all the little tricks like putting the box where the kittens is using that bathroom, putting the poop in the litter box... he just eats the litter. He has access to his litter box all day and night but he refuses to use it... he even pooped on my friend's leg in the middle of the night. Is there anything else we can try?

I have recently started talking to an old friend of mine. We've talked about getting over our age difference and have started dating but we're not technically together. I really want to get him a Christmas present this year, but I haven't the foggiest idea of what to get him. He's an avid outdoorsman, loves hunting, fishing, hiking, antler hunting... He's such a great guy, I wish I could get him something special (and no, I am not going to get a bottle of whipped cream and play around with him... sorry, we're both saving sex til marriage). Anyone have any ideas?

I'm searching for a mythical creature that best describes a friend of mine. Why? I'm not really sure, but he asked me to. I've been searching through lists of mythical and legendary creatures trying to come up with the right one.

I'm looking for a creature that is extremely intelligent and well liked by many. It should also be somewhat manipulative and sneaky, but good natured.

Can anyone come up with a mythical creature like this?

Can anyone explain Buffon's Needle and the Actual Probability of the needle hitting the line in terms that a non-math major could understand? I am in the process of writing a short paper on the game we played in class and I cannot figure out how to explain Buffon's Needle. I would appreciate any help. Thanks.

I don't usually pose questions, but this one has been eating away at me for awhile now. I've read many answers to similar questions saying that age shouldn't matter if its who you love and I was wondering what everyone here thinks.

Here is the situation: I am a 21 year old female college student, he is a 33 year old friend of mine. We've known each other for years and have entertained the idea of dating because we have so much in common. Neither of us want to date for lusty reasons or money. Our biggest obstacle is whether or not my family can accept him because he is 12 years older than me.

I could go on and on, but I'll leave it there. What do you guys thinks. 12-Year Age Gap, Okay or Not So Much?

If you were asked to be the maid-of-honor in your best friend who happens to be pretty much your sister's wedding but the date of the wedding happened to be on the date of your brother's high school graduation, what would you do? I'm at a such a loss right now. If I got to the wedding, my mom won't support me in the family anymore and she'll kick me out, but if I don't go, I'm going to majorly disappoint everyone else. What would you guys do in this situation?

In episode five, during SoReal's performance, Jackie's tie was undone on second and the next all nice and fixed, and then when she was laying back for the whipped cream, she didn't have a hat on and then she did... does anyone else find this a little odd?
