What options are there for me as i've had a bad allergic reaction to L'Oreal Infinie Platine bleach and I need to bleach it!?
I had my hair bleached for the millionth time in my life, and for the third time with L'Oreal Infinie Platine, and I have had a horrible allergic reaction. My entire body is covered in big red welts and they're not going. I have blue hair which has extensions in that is bleached and then dyed blue with Manic Panic or Crazy Colour. There is also a possibility I was allergic to the crazy colour, I just don't know!
So what options are there for me. I am really stuck as I don't want to get another reaction like this, or a life threatening one. Am I in an impossible situation? I really am terrified now, but without sounding shallow, my job as a dj means I have to have a certain look, and I look pretty rubbish without my hair (I compete with a lot of younger people, so it helps keep my name in peoples heads that i'm the dj with the blue hair).
I hope someone can help, i'm scared, and worried that i'm going to have to look ugly or risk my mortality, which is RIDICULOUS. Help!
2 AnswersHair7 years agoI have had an allergic reaction but cannot take steroids to treat, am I at risk, i'm terrified?
Hi there, I hope you can help. I had my hair bleached on friday with a brand of dye thats relatively new, so I have only used it twice before at the hairdressers. I was fine thursday night, when I had it done, but last night, friday, I woke up at 2am going out of my mind with itching. When I got through to this morning, there was a rash like the attached photo all over my body itching like hell, it even went up to my face. It was an out of hours doctor and he prescribed steroids on a tailing off dose, but I hadn't told him I suffer from various mental health problems, and when I read the attached leaflet, I realised it wasn't a good idea for me to have the treatment. I also cannot take antihistamines because I get severe anti pyramidal symtoms. I'm a nightmare I know.
I still have a very big rash, and I have new hives, although small, popping up every so often. I'm terrified that my throat will suddenly close up and i'll die. Is the worse of this reaction gone, or am I in danger. Also, does this mean I can never get my hair dyed again. Its been blue for seven years and as a DJ, it's kind of my calling card, I really don't want to change it. I'm really scared and worried.
3 AnswersAllergies7 years agoA terrible hairdresser has butchered my hair and I look horrific. How much should extensions cost?
I hope you can help. I cannot bear to look in the mirror. I loved my pink sharp bob, and a hairdresser from a high fashion magazine hacked into it exposing the bits of my face I despise. I feel so ugly, and I know it's stupid but i've put up with it for seven weeks and it's going to make at least eight months for it to grow back. How much should extensions cost, and is there any area of london that it'd be cheaper, and does the type of hair make a difference? My hair is pink so it'd need to be matched to that. Sorry for such a girly boring question :(
6 AnswersHair8 years agoIs there anywhere I can watch the ITV series BAD GIRLS online?
I hope you can help, I have only just discovered it (and yes, I know it's not particularly amazing ;) ) and it was on See Saw but that has been taken down now and we're desperate to continue with season 3 is there anywhere at all it can be viewed online?? I tried to buy the boxsets but they're so ridiculously expensive! Help a silly pair of girls with an addiction to trashy tv please!
6 AnswersDrama10 years agoWhy has my formally lovely cat become a bully?
Hi there, I have a couple of questions. I have four cats. Originally I had two, one boy, very healthy, big fat and lovely, the friendliest sweetest thing in the world. A girl (his sister), very poorly, had a genetic disease which meant she was too weak to be neutered without complications. Anyway, we went away and the person looking after her must have let her snuck out and she, to our surprise, gave birth to two kittens, which we kept because she loved them so much. Anyway - ever since these kittens have come along (6 mths old now) the boy has become HORRIBLE. He attacks them, and his sister, who he usually is lovely with, and he hisses and is stroppy, moody and sulky all the time. I miss my lovely happy boy! What can we do to change this situation?
Also, the two kittens, they scratch the hell out of us if we even attempt to pick them up. I so want lovely cuddly cats, what have we done wrong? They're so naughty, they scratch when playing, they climb curtains, destroy things....it's exhausting!
6 AnswersCats1 decade agoUnable to pick home reared kittens up, what are we doing wrong?
Hi, I hope someone can help. We originally had two cats, a brother and a sister. The boy is very friendly, but the little girl is timid and scratches you if you try to pick her up. I think this has to do with the fact that she has a genetic illness which meant constant pills and vet trips, so she became nervous of people. Due to her illness she couldn't be neutered and whilst a friend was looking after her she snuck out and got pregnant. She had two kittens which we've doted on and kept, and they're lovely, but we cannot pick them up whatsoever. If we try they scratch us and struggle horribly. We made every effort to socialise them, although their mum was very anxious any time you went near them right up until they stopped suckling. Is there anything we can do to make them a little more friendly?
5 AnswersCats1 decade agoMy female cat has had kittens, and now our boy cat (neutered) hates them and us. How can I help?
My female cat is very poorly from a genetic disease and cannot be spayed. Whilst away my friend was looking after my cats and the girl must have snuck out and got herself pregnant (she's three years old). Anyway, she gave birth to two beautiful tabby kittens who are sweet and playful and currently five weeks old. Our lovely boy cat, Paddy, has changed for being a big friendly soppy bear to miserable, unfriendly, nervous and aggressive. We love him so much and it's sad to see him change like this. He does occasionally give the little ones a little quick lick, but mostly he's disinterested and confused. How can we help him feel happier about his sister giving birth?
3 AnswersCats1 decade agoCat abandoning kittens, what can I do?
Hi there, my cat gave birth to two kittens yesterday. We gave her a box and she stayed there all day with her two suckling babies. Today however, we have woken up and she has disappeared with one of the kittens, leaving the other alone in the box. When we returned the other kitten to the box she then decided to abandon both, not going near them. She then picked up one, disappeared behind the sofa and left the other one on its own. What can I do? I'm terrified she's going to forget to look after them both and one will die!
10 AnswersCats1 decade agoCat started giving birth today, bit confused!?
Hi there, I wonder if you can help. I had no idea my cat was pregnant...she is quite a sickly thing and the reason she hasn't been spayed is the vet said she's too weakly to deal with the drugs and recovery from the operation. I had no idea she'd got out the house so this has come as quite a surprise. Anyway, she started giving birth about one o clock, and so far she has had two kittens. Could that be the end of the litter or is two too small an amount for a litter?
7 AnswersCats1 decade agoHow to get my bleached hair to retain colour?
Hi, I hope you can help. My hair is naturally very dark brown with stubborn yellow tones. I have been bleached blonde for about two years, but I've decided I wanted to go a very strong copper color, like Vivienne Westwood. I had my hair dyed at Toni and Guy but every time I wash it it loses all its color and goes dull and manky looking. How can I make it retain a strong bright copper color without having to semi permanent dye it every other day...
4 AnswersHair1 decade agoPainful armpit and aching all over, should I worry?
Hi, I have been aching all over for a couple of days and today I have a very snotty nose, sore throat...usual cold symptoms I assume. However, today I have a very sore right armpit, is this something I should worry about? I've had several colds before and never had this before.
4 AnswersOther - Diseases1 decade agoCan my originally bleached hair be saved or am I stuck bright orange due to a hairdresser error..?
Hi there, I went to a new hairdresser yesterday to get my dark brown roots bleached to go with my white blonde cropped hair. The hairdresser used the wrong volume bleach and I had a reaction, so it only went bright yellow. She gave me seconds to decide and said the only way it'd not look bad was if I toned it a warm orange color. It was only after she said she didn't know if I could get it blonde again. Now it's had a proper wella toner on it, will I ever be able to get it blonde again? I don't mind the orange for a bit of fun, but I don't feel comfortable really...
3 AnswersHair1 decade agoHow can I stop my skin misery with foundation problems?
Hi there, I hope you can help. I've recently turned thirty and my skin has just become dreadful! When I was in my early twenties, it was so good I didn't need make up. now I have small thread veins, red blotches, massive pores and horrible spots that remain under the skin all lumpy.
Now, here's the question. I work as a dj, and it's obviously a very hot sweaty environment. I have used a million foundations. Oil free, moiturising, mineral, all sorts, and none of them will stay on. I use a primer, but for some reason the foundation just slides off my forehead and nose. What can I do? I currently use Mac Studio Sculpt which is the only one that makes me pretty flawless, but I have this misery of being ugly before the end of the night. It's depressing me, help!
Oh, and for info, my skin is oily around my nose and forehead, but dry around my eyes and mouth. Annoying.
2 AnswersMakeup1 decade agoBleached hair has big chunk that has fallen out at the root. What are my best options now?
Hi there, i hope you can give me some advice. I have been bleaching my hair for about two years now, and I finally got it a lovely pure white color, via Toni and Guy, not at home. Two days ago a couple of men, who turned out to be hairdressers, stopped me to say that I had a big patch of hair missing at the back of my head, which turned out to be true! What are the options for me? My hair is really short anyway, so cutting isn't really the answer. Can I continue to bleach it or do I have to dye it another color and let it grow out? I hate having brown hair, it makes me feel so ugly and dowdy. I feel miserable knowing I have a big patch of hair missing!
Strangely, none of the rest of my hair is breaking off, so why just the crown of my head?
5 AnswersHair1 decade agoWhen will tottenham court road station start being rebuilt?
Hi there, I was just wondering when all the surrounding buildings are going to start being demolished, like the Astoria and the other venues etc surrounding. I was told it was the end of the year but I can't imagine that being true! Also, are there any definitive plans as to what is being demolished?
2 AnswersRail1 decade agoProblem riding my bike effectively, could someone explain gears to me?
Hi there, this may sound stupid, but I am an extremely unfit young lady who has just purchased a bike to try and get fit. Now, beside the fact that I'm not that steady, and am already picturing me getting killed on the road because I have no idea about cycling proficiency or rules, I am finding going even the shortest distance absolutely exhausting. Now, I assumed that the gears were there to make going up hills much easier, but it seems that the higher gears are good for flat surfaces, but the low ones, even if easier to pedal, are literally exhausting! What am I doing wrong? I have back and front gears, but am thoroughly confused. Also, how long does your fitness take to build up? I'm exhausted!
8 AnswersCycling1 decade agoHow to fend off a cold before it's fully started?
Hi there, I am always coming down with colds, and when I get them they're really horrible, lasting ages. I cannot take decongestants or antihistamines, so I can't sleep for days and get very depressed and unwell. I can tell I'm coming down with one now, what would you suggest the best way to stop it coming on, or at least make it not as horrible? I have to work all weekend and drive two hundred miles tomorrow. Bear in mind I can't take lemsip or anything like that....
Thanks!
8 AnswersInfectious Diseases1 decade agoI have just been given a bike, how do I know whether it's too big for me?
I know this is a STUPID sounding question, but I have been desperate for a bike for ages and I just got given one, but i cannot sit on the seat and also touch the floor with my feet. My legs are 30 inches inside length, am I destined to be bikeless? It's a hybrid bike, so how do you know what the right size is?
5 AnswersCycling1 decade agoSwollen painful nose on one side, not a spot, very worried!?
Hi there, I hope you can help me. I have a rather swollen red painful nose on the left side, at first I thought it was a spot but it's not, as my flesh is just hard and swollen and very painful over the whole area. I have had it once before and after using tea tree it went but this time it's not going. I did mention it to a doctor and he said it could be a staph infection. Am I in danger? I've read staph causes meningitis and MRSA etc? I'm scared! Please help!
4 AnswersInfectious Diseases1 decade agoWhat is happening to me, can anyone empathise?
Hi there, I hope you can help me. I've suffered depression for many many years. I was coping, but then I had this dreadful experience with an ex boyfriend, who ran off with my then best friend whilst I was dreadfully unwell with a reaction to some mis-prescribed anti psychotic medication (haloperidol), I had parkinsonism, as well as facial and bodily dystonia which left me with speech problems. I became agoraphobic, and very unwell with paranoia and OCD as well as a very deeply depressed and terribly anxious twenty four hours a day. I slowly tried to rebuild my life, with basically no help from anyone as I'd cut myself off from friends and barely saw my family. Eventually I met my current partner, who I love immensely, and made myself as well as I could by forcing myself outside, and I became a pretty successful dj, which was a nice byproduct of what i'd been doing to be better. Anyway, all of a sudden my ex turns up in my music world, doing something similar, totally out the blue.....
