  • Is R&S like a car wreck? Just can't look away?

R&S seems to have degenerated into a forum for patting oneself on the back for one's own opinion and for intolerance and name calling when another disagrees. It used to be that, from time to time, there would be an interesting discussion or question. But now, it seems to me, just a forum for railing at those who disagree with your own personal point of view.

Saying that, I have still come back and participated. I will be saying goodbye now. May God bless and keep you all and may your lives be filled with joy, hope, happiness and love.

  • Was the thief on the cross next to Jesus the first person to die as a Christian?

Since Jesus died before the thief, would the thief be considered a Christian or, since Jesus had not yet risen, was he still under Jewish law?

  • What can you tell me about Ava?

Does anyone know about Ava (or Kava) drink? Other than it's from the roots of a pepper plant, I really don't know much. I heard there was a bar in Honolulu that serves Ava - does anyone know the name of the bar?

  • For the next 10 minutes ?

Would it be possible for just the next ten minutes to have questions and answers that are mature, well thought out, and non-derogatory? I'd really like to see a good intelligent question!

  • To those who profess hatred for Jesus, what exactly did He do that makes you hate Him?

I'm not talking about what people have done in His name, but what did He do that causes your hatred? Was it because He healed the sick, fed the poor, taught to love rather than hate, gave His life for yours? What exactly is it that you hate that Jesus did?

  • What was the best gift you received this year for Christmas?

My youngest daughter spent time going through our DVD's, she put them in a binder and alphabetized them. It wasn't necessarily the gift, although it was really a nice present - it was the time and effort she spent making something so thoughtful. My Son-in-law gave the blessing at Christmas dinner - it made us all cry it was so beautiful. My grandsons smiles were worth more than gold! My eldest daughter made us all so welcome in her home. My husband and I did not exchange gifts - we just shared the day. It was one of the best Christmas Days we have ever had.

  • Pre-tribulation, mid-tribulation, post-tribulation rapture, or no rapture?

Christians only please - all others please refrain - serious answers only - what is your opinion? Please use the Bible as you see fit, but I'd appreciate only 1 or 2 verses per response. Thank you.

  • Is this 'attack Christians' day on YA?

Do those of you who are lumping all Christians into a group of evil people really believe the stuff you are saying? If any other group of people, religions, ethnic or otherwise, were lumped together like this with horrific things like this being said against them, people would be up in arms about it. Most of the Christian answers and questions on this forum are not agressive or targeting others. Agreed, some are, and they shouldn't do that. Can't we all play nice together?

  • Have I offended you?

I find numerous posts that ask why atheists attack Christians. I see the same answer over and over again. Christians started all the wars. Christians force their religion down other's throats. I'm just curious. Have I ever been like that to any of you? I am truly asking because it is never my intent to antagonize or hurt anyone. Thank you for your honest input.

  • Who wants turkey?

To my fellow Americans, may you have a wonderful Thanksgiving! I hope your turkey is juicy, your potatoes are fluffy, your yams are yummy and your pumpkin pie is spicy!

To my fellow Christians, may the Lord bless and keep you this wonderful day. May you be thankful for the bounty He has provided and for the things in your life He has given.

To everyone else, may you have a wonderful day!

    Peace in Christ Jesus

  • What will you give thanksgiving for this year at the Thanksgiving dinner table?

At Thanksgiving dinner, my family takes turns telling the things they are most thankful for in the past year. I am thankful for the best husband in the world. I am thankful for my family, my loving grandsons and how wonderful it is to have them in our family. I am thankful for two of the best daughters God ever gave anyone. I am thankful for my son-in-law, and his loving nature. Mostly I am thankful for the faithfulness of God and His loving grace through Christ Jesus.

  • Should Christians take the blame for all the evils in the world?

I am a Christian. I've never owned a slave. I try very hard to be kind to everyone I meet. I've never been on a 'Crusade'. I have never gone into someone's home and killed them 'for Christ'. A lot of people profess to be Christians and say they are doing things in Jesus' name, but the evidence of their actions indicates that they are NOT following Jesus. There are bad apples in every group - there are those who profess to love God but their actions prove that they don't even have an inkling of Who God is. I guess I just want to know why people think that Christians are the cause of all evil.

  • A question for Athiests - Why do you care if ...?

    1) I don't believe in evolution

    2) I believe in God

If you truly believe that there is no such thing as God, why would it make any difference whatsoever if I do believe in Him?

Please, real answers only - I'm just curious.

  • What satisfaction do you get from hurting others?

Some who ask questions here in R&S are trying to further their own agenda - I guess that's pretty natural. But in doing so, what is the point of name calling, slandering, and in general making fun of others who are honestly trying to answer some of life's hardest questions? What do you really get out of it? I just can fathom how it helps anyone in any way. Can someone please explain - I mean REALLY explain?

  • Thumbs down?

I would really like it if people would refrain from giving a 'thumbs down' just because they disagree with the response. I give a 'thumbs up' when I find an answer that has merit. I rarely give a 'thumbs down' - only when the person is being mean, nasty and beligerant without any merit to their argument.

Does anyone else agree? Can we agree to disagree?
