  • How can I retrieve e-mail that was automatically deleted by Yahoo because of how old they were?

I had e-mail that had important documents and passwords attached and Yahoo deletes e-mail when it reaches a certain "age", is there a way to retrieve them?

  • In Virginia is a wife required to testify against her husband?

D.A. subpoenaed my wife and said she had to testify against me on an assault issue. Married 23 years, and neither one of us want to press the issues. It was an assault issue on my part, and a fidelity issue on her part, the issue just got really out of hand. Now the state of Virginia says she has to testify against me on the assault, and neither one of us wants to bring the issues up. Advise???

  • Fair compensation for politicians?

If our elected officials had to survive on a salary, lets say 50,000 dollars a year, and got none of the perks they are getting now, would they seek re-election and become "career" politicians? Or would we have a more diverse representation that would actually accomplish the rebuilding of our once great nation?

    Your personal opinions?

  • Point system question?

For some reason, the Y/A point scoreboard does not follow its own scoring system. I am now a level 3, but I only have just over 1400 points, according to the Y/A scoreboard, I need many more than that.

I have noticed that there are also others who have accumulated over 5000 points in under 20 days.

There are top contributors that joined 3 days ago with 14000 points.

    What's up?????

Your opinion? Or are there "Y/A hackers" making themselves more than they are? Am I the only one who notices?

  • Life in one place or many?

For those who have lived their whole life in the same place, what are the benifets and/or downfalls that you feel.

Do you feel that you have missed out if you have not been somewhere else, or do you feel that you are blessed for it?

I really could not fathom being one place for the rest of my life, but I would like to hear the opinions of others on both ends of the spectrum.

  • For those who actually vote.....?

Do you base your vote on the rumors and lies spread by each candidate or do you honestly try to do a little research into what the person you are supporting will "try" to accomplish in their term in service?

There are too many rumors abounding about both candidates for president, which of you actually have researched the facts and made an educated decision?

Or do you just stick with the lies everyone spreads, and place your uneducated, unresearched political propaganda on Y/A to show the world that you didn't actually do anything but be a republican or a democrat, just for the sake of running someone else down with false accusations.

Kind of like the original problem of non-representation that occurred in the early 1700's.

If there was even one educated question on Y/A about either candidate, we might have a chance to make a difference. The way it is, it is just a forum for each of us to show our ignorance of the real issues that effect the whole United States.

  • Are you that insecure?

Would you vote somebody the best answer if they blocked you just so you could get in the last spiteful word?

Just got a best answer and 10 points from a user I blocked for sending me nasty e-mails.

Thanks for the points, but you really need to grow up, and you know who you are.

  • Personal property vs. contractual obligation?

I understand the reasoning behind taking personal property, including jewelry from someone who is arrested and booked into jail.

My question involves wedding bands. If a person has not removed his/her band for over 35 years as he/she has deep religious convictions that it is an outward sign of a contractual obligation with God, would he/she be given option to keep it in certain situations?

I ask this because I know of some people who have worn their rings so long and with changing body composition, their rings would not be able to be removed without cutting them off.

Does a jailer have the right to forcefully break a contract with a person and their God?

  • Wanting justice or just out for revenge?

I want to testify as to child abuse that happened 20 years ago.

This was brought up as an issue because my parents gained custody of my sisters children when she was killed in a car accident.

My parents are now again facing allegations of child abuse and my niece and nephew have been removed from the home by the state. I was removed from the home when I was 14 for child abuse, both physical and psychological. No charges were ever filed because at that age, I was severely intimidated by my parents.

My wife says to keep my mouth shut, that all I want is revenge, I say that to keep quiet, I allow the cycle of abuse to continue. I feel I am out for justice and want my parents to answer and pay for their crimes.

Is that being out for justice, wanting the world to know what kind of people they are so they can never do to another child what they did to me?

Or is that revenge? Wanting them to pay for their crimes? Both past and present.

  • 20 questions, maybe less........?

    1. Do you actually follow the advise given or do you just do what you want anyway?

    2. Do you ask questions you already know the answers to?

    3. Do you spend time on Y/A to find the answers to questions you really don't want advise on?

    4. Do you spend time on Y/A to make yourself feel better? That others are having problems worse than yours?

    5. Have you ever followed the advise given by someone in Y/A?

    6. Did it help your relationship?

Statement: Guess it was less than 20 questions.

  • When growing habanero peppers, do they need to be picked before they will turn yellow or red.

Mine are the right size, but stay green on the plant. Should I pick them and let them set as with some other peppers. This is the first time I have grown Habaneros.
