  • I want a different car, but owe money on my current one?

OK, I bought a Jeep 2 years ago and owe 9000$ on it. It has 45000 miles on it and did a KBB on it and got the figure of 17,000$ resale value on it. Well, I went through cars.com and found the truck I want-but the appraisal at their select dealership only offered 10,500$ for it as trade. I got a weird gut feeling on this cars.com deal, because they wanted me to get a higher priced truck and I felt a rip-off in the making,

What options do I have to sell/trade my Jeep? I have the loan through my work credit union and they are very good to deal with. And has any one felt weird dealing with cars.com or their offers?

    Thanks in advance!

  • fight a careless driving ticket?

I got pulled over after a rainstorm for my tires squealing and the officer told me I had to appear in court for a careless driving ticket. My Jeep tires always squeal when I make turns on a wet road-I do not know why. He asked me if I knew why I was being stopped-I said "no" because I know I was doing less than 20 in a 30 zone.

He really was wanting to give me a no insurance ticket-because I didn't have an updated card, but called my roomate to bring over the new card 3 miles away. He had to sit in the rain-aw too freaking bad. Then wrote me this ticket.

Short story long-I honestly feel it is worth fighting, I do not feel I am wrong. Maybe next time I won't leave my hose when it rains...lol

  • why are cars so expensive in Minnesota?

I am in the market for a truck-new or used, taking my time-but kind of want it before winter sets in. I have been looking online and at dealerships. I am noticing trucks are a couple thousand less in Wisconsin and Iowa compared to Minnesota-where I live. Why is this??

Registration is higher here in Minnesota than in Iowa/Wisconsin ....what gives?

  • I want a new truck-how to do it with my FICO and trade?

I have my eye on a new truck-I have a Jeep now that I have KBB'd at 23000$ resale price, which I highly question. I owe 9000$ on my current truck, the new one I want is 22,000$. So I got an offer yesterday for 17,000$ in cash for my truck.

Now on to my credit score, I had a near perfect score when I bought this truck-but lost my job and had to miss CC payments for 5 months until I got another job. Now my FICO score is 580, way down.

What should I do? Can I get myself into the new truck or stay with what I have-from a financial standpoint?

  • Need seasoned managers advice about employee?

I am a "green" manager and am looking for some advice on an employee I have, he is typical of all the 20 somethings I have had work here. He comes crying about needing more hours, but i am unable to give them to him when he refuses to return phone calls when hours are offered. He either has his phone on silent, or doesn't answer-then whines about not having enough money or hours.

He tells co-workers "i ought to just quit" because of not picking up hours. I am like my predecessor in that I only give available hours to those who prove they can work them. How does a manager get him to understand?

  • HR manager upset about my overtime pay-any solutions?

I am currently working full time at a health care facility. There is no policy on overtime. Well last week the HR manager was having a cow about me being 18 hours overtime-which is time and a half. They want my manager to meet with the HR and administrator to figure out how to keep my overtime minimal. I signed a contract three years ago for 80 hours every two weeks, I always come in when someone gets sick or needs time off, and because people can't get in because of winter weather.

Ironically, the day after this all went down-they called me to freaking come to work-after complaining about overtime. I am here to make money, not help HR look good. It disgusts me that they expect people to come in, yet get upset when they have to pay out. What if anything can I do to get that witch from HR off my case? My supervisor has gone to bat for me twice before, because he says we have to have shifts covered, period. Any solutions, thanks in advance.

  • Mentally challenged sister is tearing family apart...Help/advice?

My sister has mild mental retardation, she is higher functioning than many of her peers. But she cannot get along at her workplace-which is a vocational rehab center. She wanted to get a job with a job coach, but they require one year of good, positive behavior in order to get a job in the community. She constantly fights at work with staff and co-workers.

My parents are getting to old for this, my mom and dad are retirement age-my sister lives back at home-after getting in an argument with the group home staff and threatening to kill herself. She refuses to help with her laundry, dishes, anything that doesn't involve sitting in front of the TV eating ice cream and candy.

I have tried to stay out of it, but my mom wanted me to get her in at my workplace. I said no-because the last time she was here she refused to do any work and kept talking so inappropriately that her co-workers didn't want her there. She is on an anti-depressant, and was in therapy. My question is what else is there for her to do workwise, living, surviving? I work 50 hours a week and am unwilling to keep up this pattern with her. I have live for 25 years with her and NOTHING has changed in her attitude-any advice is welcome.

  • My bipolar mania is out of control. What do I do?

I have lived with bipolar since 1995. Things have been well for a while on Lithium/Seroquel. But the last 8 months have been very stressful and I started drinking again-thought I had everything in control. I got a traffic ticket for property damage-paid it and got out of a probation deal.

A week ago I was out late-3am, after working a double shift at work and had 3 beers in me and an Adderall and Monster energy drink to keep me awake. I got pulled over and had to take a field sobriety test and passed somehow. But got another ticket and the officer said "you need help, I cannot give it to you-the next stop at 3am-and I pull your license."

I am finally working a decent full time job and enjoying life, I cannot go back to the hospital. What can I do in the next week to get myself right. Thank you in advance.

  • Pre-sentence interview?

I went to court on 4th degree property damage-I ran over someones turf in a rainstorm. I plead guilty, but now they sent me to a community service officer for a pre-sentence interview. I have a hap-hazard driving record. But why are they dragging this out-then I go to court again in a month. The officer said it was a payable fine?? This is all new to me..how much trouble am I really in here? Thanks in advance:)

  • Socializing with new coworkers?

We have had turnover at work, and now have 3 new coworkers-I work with them on my shift the most. They are all very slow workers, but sociable. The problem and question I have is when they visit with me they slow way down and are unproductive. At what point should I just not socialize...because I don't want to get in trouble for staying late getting them caught up, because they can't talk and work.

  • paid time off at work question.?

Why is it everytime i get sick or need time off the business office makes a big deal about me asking for PTO(paid time off pay). I am about maxed out at 120 hours and it comes from a different account than the paychecks do. The last time I got sick, 2 years ago at this time, the business manager had to "look into my eligibility" and waited too long-shorting my pay check.

We had a guy give two weeks and they cashed out his PTO and my co-workers grandkids were sick, she got to go babysit and get PTO. I want to know who I should see about this, it seems unfair. Everytime I go talk to her she gives a different story than what i see from others. I told her last time this happened that I will never be able to use up my PTO because they always find a reason to tell me no.

  • Help! Can't afford my vehicle renewal tabs-in Minnesota.?

I live in Minnesota and cannot afford to renew my vehicle registration. It is 300 dollars! This is outrageous. I just paid my taxes 2 weeks ago and there is no way I can pay this. Can I get a hold of someone at vehicle safety to work out a payment option. Last year it was over 315 dollars-I put it on a credit card. They said the fee would be cut in half this year-I cannot pay this any ideas???

  • Friend came to work high, what should I say to him?

I have a friend at work who I know gets into his share of trouble. Well a couple weeks ago, a coworker came to me and said she was 100% he came to work high when they worked together. She asked if it had ever happened when i worked with him-it has not. But I know he does stuff outside work, but I believe in not "rocking the boat" if work is not disrupted over it.

I think I should mention to him-casually about this. What do you think? Is it my business or what? If it happens again-I know this lady will go to our manager(if she hasn't already). Should I distance myself as his friend-where does something like this go?

  • I am gay but he keeps coming on to me?

OK I am gay..not flaming like-but people who know me know, if you get my drift. Well this guy at work, says he is straight and constantly comes on to me. If I get all professional and busy, he comes over and says "would you look at this red patch" and lifts his shirt and wants me to get close to look at it. I do like him ALOT, but I so often get the feeling when I do engage his shenanigans-he is playing some weird game with me.

He also says "do you think I have a fever?"-so i put my hand on his forehead then he says "feel my chest, my pulse is racing"-so I do and he says "I bet you want to tear this up".

Where is any of this going? He hugs me and is all touchy also-which kind of surprises me. Him being so manly and macho. I just get way too many feelings about this stuff, I feel sometimes like he is holding me like an aluminum can ready to crush me at any minute.

  • Getting rid of pot smell?

  • How much sex is this guy really getting?

I got a friend who is 22 yrs old and like most guys we are always taking jabs at one another and talking ourselves up. Well he said he has sex at least twice a week with this girl and that girl. Now honestly, I know how many people I had sex with in my 20's-and something doesn't add up. He has no girlfriend-he has even said he hasn't had a girlfriend for a year.

So what gives-is he just full of crap or what? It will not affect my friendship with him, but it seems pretty far-fetched to me. How much sex does a twenty year old guy really get?

  • Workplace know it all question?

There is a woman at work who has a "my way or highway" attitude. it was cute when she started working here-but it is getting old. The other day I went to correct her about a policy we follow-that the place she worked at previously didn't follow. She flew right into me, cussing and yelling. I backed away and she told me not be a "smart ***". I told her I have been in this position longer, and i would not be talked to that way.

She walked away-then went bawling to my manager about how bad I treated her. How do the rest of you deal with a "know it all" at work?

  • godparent snub? What do you think.?

My sister had a baby and I took her to the hospital and was with her for the entire birth. Our parents were on vacation and her husband was on a business trip and couldn't get there to later that nite. It was a very emotional experience for me, as I have never had kids or been involved in a baby's birth. My parents called and said they wouldn't be surprised it my sister and her husband asked me to be the godparent. Well they asked his brother and girlfriend to do it.

I feel snubbed, this has been an underlying reason our arguments and disagreements have gotten so nasty. What do you think.
