Rename multiple file types in ascending numerical order?
I want to take all my iphone images and videos and back them up in my google drive. I have all the files in chronological order, but there are gaps between most of their file numbers because I delete a lot of photos/videos. So I want to rename my files: IMG_(1), IMG_(...).
I can do this easily with the options Windows has, by getting the files in the order I want them, selecting them all, and renaming the first file. But the system discriminates between file types when doing this, so I end up with all the image files numbered separately from video files. I end up with things like, "IMG_(2451) IMG_(61) IMG_(2452)". So the original point of renaming -- being able to simply click and organize by file name and not date created -- is lost.Any suggestions?
Other - Computers6 months agoResponse of AC motor to frequency change?
I was wondering about this AC motor scenario:
You have an AC motor with some constant rms voltage applied at 60Hz. The motor is moving some load, so its stable at some rpm and torque. Now you increase the frequency of the applied voltage but not its rms magnitude. What would happen? Increasing the frequency would make the stator's magnetic field spin around more quickly, but what effect, if any, would that have on the rotor/load?
3 AnswersEngineering11 months agoWhat does the V*cos(phi) component represent for voltage/current/power phasors?
I know that the vertical component of the phasors represents the instantaneous voltage/etc... on a sinusoidal graph. But does the horizontal component have any physical meaning?
I don't really know much about this field, I just like to read online for fun :3

My friend has a remote control that I like: the ELEMENT LED TV Remote Control with VUDU NETFLIX Keys.
But my tv in an insignia. If I get the same remote, I'll be able to press the codes for insignia and use it like that, right?

I'd like to be more active in my local politics and do the whole civic duty thing, however I don't know how to start.
Thanks!

I just noticed this damage on one of my tires. The stuff in the gaze look like two threads of string embedded in the tire. Is this too dangerous not to replace. Can it be a patch job?
Thanks for your input!
7 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs4 years agoPrinter cannot be used with wireless LAN?
I've had my Canon Pixma MX892, and just the other day, for no reason at all, it just decided to no longer print over a wireless connection. The printer works fine, and I can easily print when connected by usb. wireless will not work!
I've tried re-connecting to the router a million times. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers. I've done a hard reset of the device. After I reset it and reinstalled the drivers, it worked for a day, then the next morning it wouldn't work again.
I know that the printer is connected to the network. It says so on its LCD and the little wifi symbol is lit up. Also, I can see the printer in "my devices and printers" and it has a green checkmark next to it.
I simply cannot understand why it suddenly decided to not function like it should out of the blue.

It seems like in the NGE universe, souls cannot be destroyed, so when a person dies of natural causes, where would their soul go? Into another person being born ala reincarnation style? Or would it go back into the Chamber of Guf? That's what I thought at first, but then in one episode, Ritsuko Akagi said that the Chamber was empty when talking about why Rei clones had no souls of their own...

Is there a difference between the two? Doesn't one imply the other and vice versa?

1 AnswerComics & Animation5 years agoHow does the writing work for songs that have featuring artists?
My biggest example is The Gorillaz and their song "Feel Good Inc."
The entire song is pretty much sung by De La Soul, but it's a Gorillaz song.
So did De La Soul write the lyrics? Did the Gorillaz write them and De La Soul just sung them?
How does that work in general for most songs?
1 AnswerRap and Hip-Hop5 years agoSAT question?
If f(x) is a polynomial and f(4)=1 then dividing it by (x-4) gives a remainder of one.
I know this is true, but I can t figure out the proof for it.
3 AnswersMathematics5 years agoHow long do I have to decide on my school loans?
I just got word from my school that I'm eligible for loans. Now I don't need to take these loans right now because I think I have enough money to avoid that. But if my car breaks or sonething happens, I might need them later down the line. But I don't want to take them now as a precaution because then I'll have to build up interest.
Sooo, how long can I put off the decision. Can it be like 3/4 into the school year before I take them?
Thank you!
1 AnswerFinancial Aid5 years agoJob options for math major?
I m currently doing my masters in applied mathematics (have a bachelors in general math) and started to wonder: if I dont do anything in academia, what are my options?
I could be an actuary, or a teacher.... But all these I think of include a bunch of extra stuff like CAS exams for actuaries and teacher certifications. So I was wondering:
Is there anything a math major can do in industry right out of the gate without a bunch of other lengthy certifications?
I m asking because I m very UNIMAGINATIVE when it comes to job searches :( but what if I suddenly have to provide for myself or others and can t wait to pass a bunch of other tests... Thoughts?
3 AnswersHigher Education (University +)5 years agoHow does one upgrade a cooktop surface?
My family has an oven/cooktop with the four heating coils on top. My mom hates them because they re hard to clean and always make the pots and pans wobbly and uneven. She insists that to get one of the flat, smoothtop, cooking surfaces, we need to replace the entire stove/oven. Now, I always thought that you could just remove the top cooking surface and replace it with a new one, leaving the oven alone and saving money. Which is true?
2 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs5 years agoCan a child drive a car in a test track environment?
The thought just randomly popped into my head one time.
Kids ( 8-15 ) cannot drive cars on the road, obviously. But can a supervised kid be allowed to dive a vehicle around on a track or something? I've got no clue :3
3 AnswersOther - Cars & Transportation5 years agoHow do you run programs from the Ubuntu terminal?
I'm learning how to code in C and every time I create a new a.out file that I then want to run in the terminal, I end up having to write the entire file path.
I tend to keep things on the desktop
I start with:
> cd /home/username/Desktop/
Then, I compile the program and the a.out file appears on my desktop. I then try to run
it from the terminal like so:
> a.out
but then the terminal tells me it cannot find such a file. But when i write
> /home/username/Desktop/a.out
the program starts up just fine. Why do I have to keep writing the the path
just to run things? I thought by using 'cd' before anything else would take
care of this... thoughts?
1 AnswerProgramming & Design5 years agoMy C code works...idk how/why?
I understand everything in the code except the "char* argv[ ] " part in the main function and lines 8 and 9 (where *fp is)
I'm just really confused by pointers so I can't follow what's happening.
I know that what the code does is take a character string from the command line and turn it into a float number using atof then the code below does some transformations to it that I understand. I just can't follow what *fp, ui, and char* argv[ ] are doing with each other.
2 AnswersProgramming & Design5 years agoBall rolling down a hill, find the radius?
A solid sphere (I = 2/5 M R^2) with unknown radius and 3kg mass is rolling at 8m/s. It travels 4 meters distance on a 30 degree ramp. What is the radius?
This was given as a "trick" question.
When I try to solve this problem using conservation of energy, I came to the conclusion that the answer is probably that the radius can be anything. I came to this answer because when I set up the conservation of linear and rotational energy, all of the radius variables end up canceling out.
Do you think this is the right way to answer it? Thank you!
