Gay is a choice? Really?
Does anybody still seriously believe being gay is a choice? Who would choose to live through three years in Buchenwald?

8 AnswersLesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender10 years agoHow to identify silk?
What is the easy way to distinguish silk from man-made fabrics when buying it from the roll? I saw some stuff in the local market that was labled 'silk' but it felt wrong somehow.
How may one readily tell the difference?

1 AnswerFashion & Accessories1 decade agoAnd people still pretend it is a choice?
"In 1952, he was convicted of 'gross indecency' -- in effect, tried for being gay," Brown wrote.
Alan Turing, the brilliant British mathematician, who could have gone on to do so much more, has received a postumous "apology" form the British Prime MInister for the appalling way he was treated for being gay
"[Alan Turing's} sentence -- and he was faced with the miserable choice of this or prison -- was chemical castration by a series of injections of female hormones. He took his own life just two years later."
Step by step we progress as a species ... but sometimes the steps are slow and far apart.

She-whom-I-love-to-obey has finally persuaded me to replace my 18-year-old Defender with something a little more up-market.
I still need something practical, so I'm dithering between a Jaguar X-type estate or a Saab 95 estate.
Anyone offer thoughts either way?

6 AnswersOther - Car Makes1 decade agoBlocking as opposed to debating - the Christian choice?
Why would a person with this as their profile statement [see below] block me rather than engage in debate?
Am I missing something here? Is it perhaps weakness of faith hidden behind bold words?
Their statement: "I have been called by God to go out into this dark and hurting world to bring home God's lost and wandering children.
God has shown and given me His heartfelt love for every soul that crosses my path, to help lead them down the straight and narrow path few find leading to Heaven.
If you are sincerely looking and seeking Him, then you have found one of His own to show you the truth leading home to everlasting life."

I have a HP Pavilion Laptop, with Altec Lansing speakers across the front.
Part of the top edge of the speaker, where I rest the edge of my hand when using the touch-pad, has become a little clogged with dirt/skin.
Yucky, I know, but does anyone have any idea how to clean it off with out harming the speakers?

You know when you lose something, everyone always says "It'll be in the last place you think of looking"?
When I lost something earlier today, I made a list of all the possible places it could be, and then looked in the very last place I thought it could possibly be ... and it's not there.
So where do I look next?
