Who Pays Child Support and How much?
I'm in IL. I have three children with my soon to be ex husband. Our oldest announced during therapy last week that he wants to live with his dad. He's nine. I am not the kind of mom that will keep my child from his father and am agreeable to this after the close of the current school year. He has special needs and I don't want his IEP to suffer due to his change in schools.
My question is if this happens then who pays child support to who and how much? Currently their father pays me 32% of his net income each payday. This is per Illinois Child Support Enforcement Calculator we found online. We are separated now and plan to file for divorce in the fall. I only work very part time hours (5-10 per week) as I am a full time college student and have the children to take care of. He works 40+ hours a week. Does his support payments decrease to 28% if our son lives with him, do they stop all together because there is shared custody, do I pay him 24% of my small salary because he has one child?
9 AnswersMarriage & Divorce1 decade agoI.E.P questions. I'm a mom that could use some advice.?
My eight year old has had an I.E.P since before he was in preschool. his problems started with a speech and language delay at the age of three. At the age of four and a half he was diagnosed with A.D.H.D, but it was not included in his I.E.P. In first grade I requested a re-evaluation because I had concerns about his Behavior at home, and there were anxiety concerns with school. He was e-valuated by a child psychiatrist and even had an I.Q. test. His I.Q tested at 130 but his classroom performance was much lower than that. The school wanted to label him Emotionally Disturbed, but I refused that label. We were able to proceed that year with out that label. We did not obtain a behavioral intervention plan at that time. Now he is in the third grade. He has had multiple violent outbursts at school that resulted in lunch time detentions, and now after school detentions. The next step is a suspension from school. I was not made aware of any of these outbursts, neither through parent teacher conferences held a month ago, nor through telephone communication, until I got a letter informing me of the after school detention last week. I requested a meeting with the principal to discuss this and was informed that because he did not have a behavioral intervention plan the school was not required to notify me. The also refused to take his Disabilities into consideration when using this discipline. I'm being informed now that they can suspend him if necessary unless a behavioral intervention plan is obtained. I requested another re-evaluation today at our meeting. Should I go ahead with the emotionally disturbed label if it comes up again? I could use some advice from someone that has been through this before. We live in Illinois if that helps.

7 AnswersSpecial Education1 decade agoHow long is milk good for after it has been opened, if left in the fridge?
We recently cut back on the amount of milk we drink and I've had a gallon open in the fridge for about a week now. Is it still safe to drink it?
10 AnswersNon-Alcoholic Drinks1 decade agoDo you wrap Santa's Presents?
When I was little my mom just set what santa got us out under the tree, it wasn't wrapped up. My friend says she wraps what "santa" gives her kids. This year we got my daughter a bunch of doll furniture we have to put together and set up, so I was going to set it under the tree put together instead of in a box. The boys are getting various building sets they asked for from santa. What do you think?

My daughter has thrown up three times in the last five days. She threw up on Thursday night around 11 so I kept her home from school on Friday, but she was fine all day. She was fin until sunday around 10:30p.m. when she threw up again. I went ahead and sent her to school on monday because we are moving, she didn't have a fever and she seemed find when I dropped her off. She was fine all day until 10:30 again last night when she threw up again. She got up this morning happy and cheerful, and fever free. she said she felt fine. I gave her some claritin in case it was allergies and I sent her to school. She's only three, but she seems fine other than those three instances.

And is fairly inexpensive? It's for a christmas dinner for my family. We don't usually eat expensive meat like this, so I'm not sure what to fix with it. Honestly I've blown a good chunk of my Christmas Dinner Budget on the Roast itself.
9 AnswersEntertaining1 decade agoMother in Law is paranoid, what would you do?
Two weeks ago she called me , I was four hours away, to tell me she thought she broke her wrist and needed to go to the hospital. Like I could do anything about it. She did break it, but I am afraid she did it for attention. She did it right after we told her we could not come up for christmas. Then she called me a week later to tell me that her neighbor was trying to frame her for stealing and selling prescription medications. Something she would never do. Then she called me today to tell me that she thinks the military is blocking her remote control from her t.v. I'm truly worried about her now. Any thoughts?

3 AnswersOther - Family & Relationships1 decade agoWhy do people automatically think we are scum scamming the government, because we are poor?
I'm recently a single mom with three kids going to school and I am amazed at how many people think I must be scamming the government, or be lazy because I get food stamps. I work very hard at going to school so my kids will some day have a good life. Why is that wrong?
27 AnswersOther - Pregnancy & Parenting1 decade agoHow do I get Thanksgiving all on the table at once?
My Husband and I moved to a new home this year two hundred miles away from our family so we could go to college. We are friends with two other families who are in a similar situation. So we decided to put on Thanksgiving at my house. Did I mention that if it doesn't come out of a box I don't know where to begin? I took home Ec but that was ten years ago. How do I get the Turkey, Augratin Potatoes, Sweet Potatoes, Rolls, Green Beans, ETC all cooked and piping hot on the table at once? I only have one oven. Some things I can cook on the stove top, but others require baking and at different temps. I will make stuffing but not in the bird, too many stories of people getting sick.
Any Seasoned Vetrans out there got a few suggestions for me?
