  • Which spark plugs and wire set should I purchase?

I currently own a 1988 Cadillac Sedan Deville with a 4.5L V8 engine. I definitely need to have my plugs and wires changed. I was looking at getting AC Delco spark plugs and wires. I've been told to get Bosch if the price is right. What do you suggest? I can get the AC Delco plugs and wires shipped for $71, and the Bosch may be a little more or a little less.

  • Which side of the street should I be parked on?

To give a little background, I received a parking ticket for violation of winter ordinance. I was issued the ticket on February 16th at 3:11AM. The winter parking notice states:

Parking during November 15 and March 15 is restricted between the hours of 8 p.m. and 8 a.m. On EVEN numbered days, starting at 8 p.m., parking is restricted to the even side of the street only. The same applies for ODD numbered days. NO PERMITS will be required. Any METERED AREA is still restricted to 60 minutes between the hours of 2 a.m. and 6 a.m. This policy overrides all other on-street parking restrictions in place on any street where parking is allowed. Thank you for your cooperation.

  • What's wrong with my 1988 Cadillac Sedan Deville?

Hey everyone, this problem started occurring Friday night when I was driving home from work. Traffic was kind of at a halt because it was pouring and nobody could hardly see. The car wouldn't accelerate, and it stalled. I tried starting it, and it'll crank, but not fire over. I ended up having the car towed to my house. Once it got home it started up and ran completely fine. I let the vehicle sit over night thinking that maybe the spark plug wires got wet on the drive home, and that it wasn't getting spark. Sunday I tried driving it to work. I was on the highway, and the vehicle again stopped accelerating and then eventually died. Again, I can crank it, but it won't fire. Again, the vehicle was towed home. I replaced the distributor cap, rotor, and ignition coil. I also had the ignition module tested probably a dozen times at Autozone to make sure it was hot when tested. After the vehicle died, we tested for fuel pressure at the test port when cranking. Fuel is getting through. We also checked for spark at one of the wires after it dies. I'm not getting any spark. I pulled the codes the day it first died, and got the following.

E30 ISC RPM Out of Range

    E53 Distributor Signal Interrupt

    F13 In-Car Temperature Sensor Circuit

    F48 Refrigerant System Problem

FF13 Repeat of In-Car Temperature Sensor Circuit

Autozone had mentioned the possibility of the pickup coil being bad. Also said it could be an issue with the computer sending a signal to the ignition module. I'm just seeing if any of you experts have any ideas as to what I should try next. Thanks for the help. I know it's a long post, but I tried being as detailed as possible.

  • What is wrong with the heat in my 2002 Pontiac Aztek?

My family has a 2002 Pontiac Aztek, and the heat works occasionally. When the vehicle is in motion the heat works fine, but when you stop and idle you get nothing but cold air. The temperature gauge then shoots up, and a light showing hot temperature displays. Any ideas on what's causing the problem?

  • Any tips or advice on changing an alternator in an 88 Deville?

Well, I got the No Charge message while driving, and then the Service Now light came on. I pulled the codes, and got

Voltage Out of Range [ALL SOL]

    and

    Set Vs. Vehicle Speed Difference

I went to Autozone, and had them check my battery in hopes of it being the issue. The voltage was only around 11volts while running, and looked like it was dropping as it sat. The guy told me it was the alternator. I've changed alternators on a 87 Cavalier and 90 Camry before, so is there any reason I would not be able to do this one?

  • What is a nice gun for a first time gun owner starting out?

I recently turned 21, and want to exercise my right to bare arms. I used to go to gun ranges with my father when I was younger, and now that I'm old enough, I'd like to start going again. What's a nice recommendation for a first time owner?

  • What is the title of this book?

I have a friend who said she knows a book with random interesting facts. She knows a few such as how flies can walk on the ceiling, and that male sea horses have babies. She thought the name of the book was How Flies Can Walk on the Ceiling, but she can't find it. Any ideas?

  • Rockford Fosgate P400-4 or Infinity REF475A?

I think I have a fairly simple questions, but I'd like a little feed back to play it safe. I'll give as much information as possible.

    1988 Cadillac Sedan Deville

Front Speakers: Infinity REF6422CFP 4x6 (45 watts RMS)

Rear Speakers: Infinity REF9623I 6x9 (100 watts RMS)

    Deck: Kenwood KDC-MP738U

I previously had the Infinity REF475A 4 channel amplifier. It decided it wanted to go into protect mode for no apparent reason. I had the amplifier sent out to service and it was confirmed that the amplifier was faulty. I now can either get the same amp for free of charge new, or upgrade to the Rockford Fosgate P400-4 for an extra $30. I'm leaning towards the Rockford Fosgate amplifier. Any reason why this isn't a better choice?

  • Where should my family go on vacation?

My family plans on going on vacation in a week. We live in Wisconsin, and would like to do something out of state. If we do decide to do something outside of Wisconsin, we'd more than likely drive. We went to Minnesota a couple years ago, and we're originally from Chicago, so that rules out Illinois and Minnesota. Anyone have any ideas for states that are either bordering, or close to bordering?

  • Why do you run?

It's a rather simple question, but I'm sure the answer will be different for all? What makes you wake up each day, and go out on a run?

  • Which would you prefer, Infinity Kappa Perfect 12DVQ or Rockford Fosgate P3D412?

I'm kind of stuck between the two. I currently have all Infinity speakers that are pushed by an Infinity amp, yet I know Infinity doesn't make an amp that is powerful enough to push two 12" subwoofers. As much as I'd like to keep Infinity for everything, that's not an option anymore. I'm getting a Rockford Fosgate P1000-1BD amp that is 1000 watts RMS at 1ohm stable. Any help is appreicated.

  • How do I get through the firewall of a 1987 Chevrolet Cavalier.?

I have a 1987 Cavalier convertible, and I'm trying to run the power cable for my amp. I'm looking all over the place for an opening to run my power wire so I can avoid drilling. I'm not even seeing a good spot to to drill a hole through either though. Any ideas?

  • Why will my tower not power on?

I push the power button, and the light on my cd-rom drive flashes on and off rapidly and the same goes for the power light. Where do I start trouble shooting? I was thinking of starting with the power supply, but is there anyway to do so without purchasing a new one?

  • Why will my car not start?

After driving the vehicle for a day or so after sitting the winter, the car decided not to start. I swapped the battery thinking the battery was a possibility. The car started, and after being turned off the car won't turn over. With this little information would you guess that it's a bad alternator, solenoid, or starter? Thanks for the help.

  • Why is the minimum balance the same as my finance charge?

I'm a little puzzled. I currently have a credit card and I paid off the entire balance. Today I received my statement in the mail and it shows a new balance of $9.33 with $0.00 in transaction. They do show a finance charge of $9.33 though. Can somebody explain why I'm paying a finance charge if I made zero transactions since my payment? Thanks for the help.

  • What damage can be done to a vehicle if it is pulled out of a ditch while in park?

My brother drove our 2002 Pontiac Aztek into the ditch the other night. The guy that pulled the vehicle out of the ditch did so when the vehicle was in park. The vehicle is also a four wheel drive model, and was towed twenty miles rather than being put onto a flatbed trailer. Basically, what damage could have all been done pulling a vehicle out of a ditch when in park, and also been done towing it if it has 4 wheel drive? Thanks.

  • How do I add a basslink to my current car audio setup?

I need a little help. I currently have a four channel amplifier powering four speakers, along with an after market Kenwood head-unit. I'm looking for an extra little bass since I currently have Infinity speakers for clarity purposes. How would I go about installing the Infinity Basslink?
