  • Links to websites about surrogacy?

Does anyone have a link to a website about surrogacy that involves the father of the child actually sleeping with the surrogate mother, i.e. not using artificial insemination? I need factual links please. This is for a discussion I was having with someone and not for my own personal use. Thank you.

  • Changing a Toilet Seat--does one size fit all?

We just bought our first home, and moved in this past weekend. The previous owners had a really tacky toilet seat in the guest bathroom. I decided to switch it with the seat in the master bathroom, since it won't be as noticeable in there until I can buy a new one.

I found out that the seat from the master bath is a lot shorter than the one from the guest bath and will not fit the toilet--I thought all seats were supposed to be the same size? Isn't that a standard? What do I do when I go to purchase one, i.e. how do I know if it will fit my toilet at home?

    Thanks.

  • Exercising while pregnant?

What excercises are ideal for pregnancy? I know not to exhaust myself, do anything rigorous, no sit-ups/crunches, etc. but what IS allowed besides walking and swimming? I was thinking of taking up yoga, and was wondering if light weight lifting is ok on our bowflex--I have a 30lb. toddler to tote around, so it would be less than that for working out. Thank you.

  • Chickens as Pets and the Law?

I am thinking about purchasing a chicken for a pet, but am not sure if it is legal to do so where I am living. I had a couple chickens and ducks when I lived in PA, but it was a rural area that was allowed. I am now living in GA, a surburban type neighborhood with a quarter acre of land. Is this allowed or not? I am not looking for farming several chickens, just having one as a pet. Thank you.

  • Growing Peaches?

I am interested in growing some peaches in my back yard. I live in Georgia, so this seems perfect. However, I was wondering if I could use seeds from peaches I bought at the store that were labeled from Chile, or not? I was thinking they might not work because they were cultivated for the climate of Chile, not Georgia. Should I wait and get seeds from Georgia Peaches?

  • Does anybody know about my Barbie doll(1980s)?

I am trying to figure out a type of Barbie doll I have(it is my first Barbie doll as a child). She is from the late 1980s, probably 88 or 89, since I was born in 85. She is also a ballerina Barbie, she came with a light pink silky leotard, sparkly bright pink long tulle skirt with old fashioned type metal snaps. She came with shoes and a brush, and I'm not sure what else. She was one of the last dolls to have plastic non-bendable legs. She also has silky hair, not the soft kind.

I want to find out which doll she is so I can look for another one in better condition to put on display.

Does anyone know anything about this doll, or perhaps point me to a site with a list of all the Barbies ever made? Thanks!

  • Toys R Us in Des Moines, IA?

I was wondering if anyone could tell me if Toys R Us in Des Moines, IA has Melissa and Doug toys or any other wooden toys in stock? I know the website sells them, but I was just curious if the Des Moines store had them. I am going on vacation there, and thought I could possibly wait until I get there to buy my son's presents, instead of buying them online. Thanks!

  • Waterproofing a suede jacket?

I bought a nice suede jacket and matching purse last year and never got a chance to wear it. I decided I am going to take it with me on a trip to see family in Iowa. I know it is very snowy and wet there, so would it be important for me to waterproof my jacket and purse before I go? I got a can of waterproofing when I bought it, but never used it. Is this necessary, i.e. will the suede get ruined if it gets wet? Any tips on how to waterproof, or do I just spray it on? Thanks!

  • Can you help me with WIC?

I have a WIC appt. tomorrow, I have been on it before when I lived in another state, but am just now signing up for it since I moved. I lost the paper that tells me what I need to take with me, and can't remember what they needed before. This is for me(pregnant) and my toddler son.

I know I need my proof of address(lease), ID cards, proof of income, but what else?

Oh and I can't find my son's shot record...will that be a big deal? Do I need to take his birth certificate or social security card? Thanks so much for any help!

  • Traditions for Women in the military?

I am doing a report on women in the military, and part of the report, I have to discuss specific traditions for women in the military(i.e. special songs, sayings, customs, etc.). I have searched and searched, but have found nothing but what kinds of jobs and roles women have had(which is good, because I need that too). Does anyone have any knowledge or traditions women have while serving, or past traditions? Maybe a link? Thanks.
