  • Soul Mate/True Love right down the street??

Most people who are married met their spouse in the city where they grew up or currently live. High school sweethearts marry all the time. My question is, how can you be so sure the person meant for you is from your high school/college/town?? I mean, isn't that a small pool of prospects? If I live in Pennsylvania then most likely the person I will date/marry lives in my area. But maybe my true love is from England, Japan, or maybe Missouri or Florida? You usually marry somebody with similar backgrounds, so I can see how living in the same town will give you a similar upbringing. I live in a relatively small town, and I haven't met anybody yet who I would consider marrying. LOL. I'm beginning to think he could be on the other side of the world.

  • Living/working in Washington D.C. area?

I'm considering moving to the D.C. area, or the Virginia or Maryland suburbs as well. I'm looking for a job that pays decently, and was impressed with all the job listings for that area in the Washington Post. (Jobs suck where I live outside Pittsburgh.) Anybody who lives there, works there, been there, offer any advice to me? Currently I live about 4 hours away, but the closest to D.C. that I've been is Annapolis. Any impressions of that area appreciated.

  • Is there anything wrong with political party straight-ticket voting?

Ok... Say you are a registered (die-hard) Republican. You go to vote in the general election. You only choose to vote for other Republicans. Is this wrong? (and vice versa for Democrats.)

I think you learn a lot about a candidate by just their political affiliation. How many voters out there actually take time to research every single candidate to make an 'informed' decision about them (without any bias as to which political party they belong to)? Don't most Republicans just say "I'll vote for the Republican" and most Democrats say "I'll vote for the Democrat"?

You can vote for whoever you want to, but is it 'wrong' just to base your vote on the candidates' political parties?

  • What have you learned by using Yahoo answers?

    I've learned:

That there are a lot of girls out there who are pregnant or think they might be pregnant and will constantly ask, "Am I pregnant?"

Spelling must not be important anymore.

And if you want to listen to a song, without downloading it, go to

www.song2play.com!! (actually my niece told me that, but I've given that answer at least 10 times, I'd say.)

  • Pete Doherty - Do the British actually like this guy?

I've only heard of Pete Doherty from his on and off again romance with Kate Moss. I could care less about either of them really, but he again appeared under the Entertainment News section of Yahoo. My question is - is this guy really popular in England or what? What exactly is his deal? Or is it just because he dates Kate Moss? Or is he just England's version of Paris Hilton (you don't really know why the person is famous...) I have absolutely no idea why this guy is on the news.

  • What's a good TV show that is out on DVD box set now?

Not the usual shows like Lost, 24, or Desperate Housewives. I want to find a good TV series to watch on DVD box set. I use Blockbuster online, so I want to catch up on some good shows I may have missed the first time around. Right now I'm on disc 2 of the "Freaks & Geeks" set. Any suggestions?

  • Does anyone like Panera Bread?

I have to say, their Chai Tea Lattes are way better than any I've had at Starbucks. Plus their asiago bagels are awesome!

Have you been there? What do you like?

  • How can you just start watching a soap opera?

I've never watched one single episode of Young and the Restless or General Hospital or shows like that... Have spent many years watching Days of Our Lives on and off though. Those shows have years and years of backstories.

So how can you start watching these shows without being utterly confused? Or what about that show Lost? Do I have to go back and watch the DVDs of previous seasons before I attempt to watch that show now?

Just wondering... no need to give me links to any soap opera sites.

  • Can you buy a Pepsi in Atlanta?

I've been to Atlanta only once- for 3 days and I did not see any Pepsi machines or any Pepsi products anywhere. But I might have just missed it. Even on the plane home they only had Coke.

  • What is the most $$ you've spent for a ticket to any event?

What is the most expensive ticket you've bought for any event? (concert, game, theater, etc.) I paid $150 for one U2 ticket last year. Definitely the most I've ever spent.

  • Who won "Who Wants to be a Superhero" last night?

It's a show on the Sci-Fi channel. I've watched a few eps, just wondering. I think the finale was on last night, but I had to work.
