I was under the understanding that you could claim yourself as a Jew if you were of Jewish descent, but not Jewish faith. I also understood that you could be a convert to Judaism (though difficult) even if you were not born of Jewish descent. Is this true? Is it offensive to those who practice Judaism for someone who is of Jewish descent but not of the faith to call themselves a Jew? Thank you to everyone who offers kind and moderated answers!

I know, I'm just curious as to how many other people do.

I hate tofu. Even in my miso soup, which I love. I hate the tofu. I pick it out and I don't pick anything out of my food normally. So I want to know, what am I missing that is good about tofu, and where can I get tasty tofu, or a great tofu recipe?
