Is this evidence of secret cloning experiments in Québec?
Look at this photograph of Prime Minister Stephen Harper:

Does this provide evidence of cloning in Québec?
10 AnswersCurrent Events1 decade agoWhat proof is there that the Afghanistan was involved with the destruction of the World Trade business towers?
It seems that this is one of the fundamental reasons that are always cited for Canada's involvement in the war in Afghanistan, but is there actually evidence? The only thing that I know of is the assertion that this is so by the Bush administration and their backers, and they appear to have lied about everything else, so why should they be believed about this?
The twin towers weren't attacked by Afghanis. How is Afghanistan actually a threat to Canada?

How will this affect social relations?
As an example consider the distribution of music and other information through the Internet.

4 AnswersInternet1 decade agoWhen babies are born, do they have air in their lungs? Can you help me with the questions in the details?
If so, how does it get there?
If not, what stops the lungs from collapsing?
Is a baby's first breath an exhalation (waaaah) followed by an inhalation or is it an inhalation followed by an exhalation?
If it is an inhalation, what causes the baby to only inhale when it is out of an aqueous environment?
Have any babies ever drowned in the womb?
Is it the same for all mammals?

11 AnswersBiology1 decade agoIs it possible that global warming can be the cause of earthquakes?
Is it possible that melting ice causes the balance bewteen tectonic plates to readjust?
Ice sheets that have exerted billions of tonnes of pressure from weight on to the earth for tens of thousands or even millions of years. When this ice melts, or breaks off and goes into the sea, the pressure is released on the ground.
Is there any evidence that this might be happening? Could there be a casual relationship between global warming and the reduction of the ice sheet in Antarctica and the tsunami in the Indian Ocean?
I would be interested in links for further investigation.

This is a subject that I have often wondered about. I'm looking forward to your views.
16 AnswersEnvironment1 decade agoCanadians: Are you embarrassed by the Harpercracy of the Conservative government of Stephen Harper?
I am so embarrassed at the display of aggression, pomposity, pride and mental dullness displayed by Stephen Harper on his trips abroad. His latest fiasco was a tantrum that he threw at the Francophonie meeting in Bucharest.
How long do we have to endure this disaster?
5 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoTo Muslims, this is a serious question: Is it against Islam to make effigies of people?
I was wondering about this because in my very limited knowledge concerning Islam, I thought that making images and effigies of people was forbidden. Since I thought this, I was perplexed when I saw on television that some Muslims (I think it was in Pakistan, but it may have been India or Kashmir) were protesting against the Pope by making an effigy of him and burning it. I was wondering what you thought about this. Do you think that some Islamic clerics will criticise them for doing this?
Sorry, this is a restatement of a question that I asked and deleted by mistake.
8 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoLooking for quote by Will Rogers about how the families are proud of their relatives dying in war?
I heard this once and I have been trying to find it since. Essentially Rogers says that families are proud of their relatives who die in a war, and how we will always have wars as long as we view death in warfare as being more glorious than say being run over by a truck.
I'm looking for the exact quote, preferably with references.
2 AnswersQuotations1 decade agoWhat is the quote that you've encountered that made you scratch your head and say 'what?' ?
O.K. this is just for amusement. Think about it.
Here are a couple of examples to show you what I mean:
During the invasion of Iraq Donald Rumsfeld went to either Syria or Jordan (I can't remember, I think it was in Syria that he said this) and a journalist asked him a question and he said "the future has changed."
During the 1980s at a Conference leading up to the Meech Lake Accord in Toronto, then Ontario Premier Bob Rae said that the Premiers at the conference had achieved a "high degree of unanimity."
See, things like that. They don't need to be from politicians, but they seem to be so good at this kind of stuff.
8 AnswersWords & Wordplay1 decade agoFor Muslims: Are forced conversions to Islam valid or not?
I just saw the two released jounalists in Gaza. They say that they were forced to convert to Islam at gun point.
Assuming that what they said is true:
Did the people forcing the conversion break any Islamic law?
Do you think that it is acceptable to do this?
In your view are the conversions valid?
I would appreciate serious, thoughtful answers.

6 AnswersCooking & Recipes1 decade agoShould Stephen Harper resign over his stand on AIDS?
Stephen Harper is quoted as saying about AIDS: "...Prime Minister Stephen Harper said it wouldn't be the right time to make announcements because the issue had become 'so politicized' . . ." (ref. http://www.cbc.ca/story/canada/national/2006/08/18... )
This admission that he, a politician, is not prepared to deal with the politics of an important issue like AIDS seems to be an admission of his incompetence. In general, one would think that politicians would be prepared to deal with political issues. Don't you think that it would be better for the country if he stepped aside and let people who would be willing to deal with the politics of important issues take charge of our government?
