  • I need help with clutter control, especially of 'other peoples/dead relatives stuff that I ended up with.?

I have so much accumulated, but don't know where to start. I'm afraid of tossing something I could get money for, and this is important, as my husband died of cancer leaving me with a mortgage, health care bills and 2 youngsters. When I sold some very nice furniture at a general auction I really got "taken" . Where do I find best prices for things? list on ebay one at a time? (ug!)

    A couple of specific questions:

    1. Are old National Geographics worth anythiing, or should I donate/recycle. they go back to the 60's.

    2. Record albums. They were my husbands, hundreds of them. I saved about 200, and got about .25 cents each for about 200. they don't want the rest . should I just toss them?

    3. old atari games, unused (we had a consession yrs ago)

    4. big disk movies, a system that competed w/video yrs ago. Good stuff: last seasons skiis used once. Waterford crystal. Beleek China. boxes and boxes of colored glass, china, nice knick nacks.I'm overwhelmed, please guide me!

  • Dell computer's cd-rom unit accepted disk, then made a 'pffttzz' sound and a big puff of smoke, game in pieces

I did an internet search on the problem, could it be dust or sometning else? the unit is about 2 years old. of course out of warrenty. the whole back of computer WAS covered with fine clumped dust. We got most of the many pieces out, not all.

It basically 'exploded'. The circular disk inside the unit, that CAUSES the cd/game to spin is usually 'invisible' but now youcan see all of it. There are a few fragments of disk inside. We finally got it to close, but it automatically opens again. We were using this computer and cd drive as we normally do, nothing was dropped, spilled, etc. My brilliant 15 yr old figured how to remove the unit. 1)Should we get it fixed. 2) can it be replaced with any other DELL cd/rom unit from an older (in the cellar no longer used) computer, are these units availible for stand-alone purchase or should I just get a whole new computer (and can you just get the CPU? the moniter speakers etc are just great.sons get new cd games for XMASS BUT NO CD/Rom now!

  • Is it possible to make my own meat 'hot dogs' from scratch? With no unhealthy preservatives!?

My boys love hot dogs. I know they are made from all the unmentionable leftover animal parts. and nitrates which preserve your organs as well as the hot dogs. I can't stand tofu pups, have tried so many times! but how would I come up with a similar texture, flavor and shape to regular hot dogs using beef, turkey, chicken? One boy REALLY likes corn dogs, so that might be the final product, of course I suppose those are deep fried? and thus just as bad??? Thanks your considered responses!

  • How to upgrade heat system in 35 yr old home? Electric heat cost is a killer. attic/cellar was insulated?

Would propane addition be good? switch completely to $ oil $ There are 2 fireplaces but do not want to get into wood stoves, because this was my inlaws house and i rent it out and don't want the tennants burning it down.. My husband was going to handle this but just died suddenly of cancer. I know I dont HAVE to upgrade, tennants pay for heat, but I can deduct cost of upgrade on taxes and make the house more attractive to potential tennants (winter heating costs top 800/month!) its about 2500 sq. feet.

ONE MORE THING since I still have 400 characters :-) What kind of caulk should I use (A)around outside doors and (B) around the bathtub surround? 2 different types? Thanks in advance, look for more queries in future!!
