20 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoBoth theists and atheists, what do you think of this quote? Agree or disagree and why?
"Man masters nature not by force but by understanding it. That is why science has succeeded where magic failed. Because it looked for no spell to cast on nature."

14 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoCreationists, how do you distinguish one kind of animal from another?
When i listen to creationists i often hear about "kinds" and an animal will not turn into another "kind". well, i guess you have to tell how we can distinguish one "kind" of animal from another "kind".
i asked this before and got one answer.
8 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoLucy a Hoax? Creationists please elaborate on this?
i recently read an answer that claimed one of the Australopithecus fossils (the one dubed Lucy) was a hoax. would any creationists be so kind as to elaborate on how, when, and by whom Lucy was discovered to be a "hoax"?
15 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhat is a "Kind" exactly?
can a creationist give me a biological definition of a "kind" or explain how one distinguishes one "kind" of animal from another?
for instance two animals are two species because they can no longer successfully breed with one another to produce fertile offspring.
so what distinguishes one "kind" from another "kind"?

4 AnswersPsychology1 decade agoif egypt didnt exist at the time of the flood?
here are the people who said egypt didnt exist
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AnR_....
when was this world flood supposed to happen? earliest egyptian society took off around 3150 BC. That is about 5000 years ago. and that was the unification of upper and lower egypt. so there must have been a large population at the time for 2 kingdoms to exist. and from these websites
http://www.creationtips.com/flooddate.html
http://www.answersingenesis.org/creation/v4/i1/noa... (i know so many of you like this website)
the world flood occurred around 2300 BC. this is around 1000 years after the unification of the already existing upper and lower kingdoms which have been in existence since around 5500 BCE.

so obviously egypt did exist at the time of your supposed flood, which begs the question. when did the flood occur?
6 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoin order to teach both sides?
creationists, if you think we should allow our under educated students decide what science is do you think we should also teach alchemy along with chemistry and astrology along with physics and phrenology along with psychology? or should we stick with science in science class?

can everybody (christian, atheist, pagan, buddhist... i mean everybody) with a basic understanding of science pick out at least one thing from this website that is blatantly wrong? i did this last night and got 5 answerers. i'm hoping for more today. you can pick more if you want.
and then if you could correct the mistake you found that would be great.

5 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agohow many creationists, when talking about time and the beginning of the universe?
how many of you dont understand relativity? that everything (space and time) is relative. that when people say the universe is 14 billion years old that is not when the universe began, but when that single point of space-time expanded. time to our understanding is infinite and is relative. the universe is 14 billion years old relative to the Big Bang. when measuring both time and length you need something to measure from. for space and time you need a point "A" and a point "B". point A for the age of the universe is the earliest known action we can detect. point B is now. there (if einstein is to be believed) is an infinite regression and infinite progression of time.
and now to make this a question, your thoughts?
15 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoradioactive dating methods?
so creationists, what are your arguments against radioactive dating methods? and what dating methods do you think they use to date fossils? and what are the flaws in carbon dating?
11 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoall christians who take the bible as literal 100% infallible truth?
how well do you read the languages the bible was originally written in? hebrew, greek, and aramaic? how many of you knew genesis in the original hebrew is a poem? and the meaning of the word "day" as used in genesis doesnt mean a 24 hour day, but an era.
15 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agocreation websites?
apparently many creation web sites are based on sound science and give only scientific information to the error of evolution. these said sites also apparently do not use the bible as their first source. this was told to me by someone im having an online debate with about evolution vs creation when i told him i wanted reputable sources for his data and he gave me creation sites. can any creationists tell me a creation website that is not founded on the bible? i would really like some respectable scientific backing on creationism if you are going to insist on it and if i am going to accept it. remember no bible and no religion, religion is not science.

and if you wouldnt mind just answering the question that was asked. i got some people before that added info that was pretty useless.
19 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agocreationists, would you mind answering a question for me?
