  • Hot flashes, can they be slowed down?

My hot flashes are severe and frequent. Is there a vitamin I can take to help make them less paralyzing? Night time is the worst, they are lowering the quality of my life. Any suggestions?

  • Relationship issues regarding an ex-girlfriend. Did I dump him for no reason?

I am fully aware that to draw conclusions without gathering all the information first is not healthy. However, I did not do that this time before drawing my conclusion. I want to know if this is a situation you would trip off of. My boyfriends previous relationship ended abruptly, He spent thousands of dollars on her in a 6 month period only to be dumped by her over some text msg. They did not get along until recently. Their relationship consisted of him giving her rides everywhere she wanted to go and an occasional movie. He enjoyed this immensely. At the start of this week he informed me that she got a new job so he would be giving her a ride to Bart everyday at 8:30am and then a ride home from Bart everyday at 5:30pm. Here s the thing the Bart station is walking distance from where she lives. It takes 5 minutes to get to Bart from where he lives but he leaves at 5pm to get there by 5:30 then he doesn t return for hours. He insists its what friends do for each other (funny how she is his friend now because she wants something.) What really got me was on Sunday I needed a ride from Bart and I couldn t reach him. After walking home I see him driving up with her in the car. It was a Sunday so it had nothing to do with her job. I dumped him, did I over react?

  • At what point should I be concerned about this man?

I have been seeing this guy for only 2 1/2 months. I have been attempting to engage in a conversation with him for 4 days, this is something that has never been a challenge until now. Is this something I should think of as a red flag ? I find it odd when someone you are seeing can t find 10 or 15 minutes in 4 days to converse with the person they are being intimate with. But maybe that s just me. Perhaps I m putting too much thought into it, what do you guys think?

  • Can a landlord evict someone who's name is on the lease but physically hasn't lived at the residence for a decade?

40 years ago Jane Doe rented an apartment after raising her kid she moved leaving the apt. to her kid Mary Doe. In 2005 Mary moved out of the apt. physically and let her friend John Doe move in yet never put his name on the lease. For what ever reason the landlord knew this was the case but let it go on. From 2005 to 2012 John occupied the apt. and because he never put the utilities in his name the only paper trail that proved he lived there are copies of signed money order receipts. In Sept of 2012 after John had already vacated the apt for 6 months he moved in his friend Harry year later Harry is still there and the lease is still in Mary Doe's name. Now John is trying to evict Harry because he no longer wants to be attached to the apt. In a situation like this only the landlord can evict? Is it not the responsibility of the landlord to update the paperwork to reflect who the occupants actually are? Mary has since past away, so Jane is on board with John. They think that Harry living in the apt. makes it so they are still living there. Is that true?

  • How does EBMUD handle refunds?

I have a credit on my water bill account which happens to be closed. Customer service at East bay Municipal Utility District told me they would be sending me a refund. Today I got a statement from them showing that the money has been refunded yet I have not received a check in the mail from them. After speaking with customer service initially she verified my address which left me to think they would be sending a check. There is no credit showing on my ATM card either. Do they traditionally mail their refunds?

  • Can someone tell me valid information re: Civil Law in Alameda County?

I've been illegally lock out of my apt. and much of what I own is still inside. I intend to file for an injunction today under CC 789.3.

    1. When I file does the court require that I also file a Complaint concurrently, or can the injunction be granted on affidavits and Declarations, only, with the complaint to follow in a few days?

    2. When I file the complaint for the lockout under 789.3, if I also intend to file for a Wrongful Eviction in tort, must I do so then in order to not be precluded from doing so?

    3. Is what I need to file called an injunction in order to be granted an order against my landlord to re-gain entrance?

  • What does it mean if you can't find the copy write date in a book?

Perhaps it does not mean anything and I'm just looking in the wrong place. I have run across this problem a few times in my life when I can not locate the copy write or print date showing anywhere in the book in question. I always thought that was standard in all books (usually found near the publishing companies name). What am I missing?
