  • How do you cut the hunger while doing a juice fast?

My husband and I are starting a juice fast in a week (we're morbidly obese and we're using this week to cut out the sodas & coffee so we don't suffer so badly)...I would like to know the best tips for feeling full so that we're not tempted to cheat!

We've been doing at least one meal as a juice since a week ago. I've lost 15 pounds, he's down 6 (but he was drinking beer up until yesterday).

Any helpful guidelines or hints would be appreciated!

  • Landlord responsibility for injury on property?

Just had call from police that our tenant's child fell out of the window while tenants were sleeping. Are we liable in any way for this? We don't have bars on the windows - just screens, like a normal house.

  • Scaredy cat that won't even groom himself?

A friend of ours gave us a 5 year male (not neutered) cat. They told us that they had him since he was a kitten & that he always "hid" upstairs of their house. I don't know why they wanted to get rid of him, but we have him now. He hides in my closet & comes out at night to use the litterbox & eat. Otherwise, he stays in the SAME spot, tucked in a ball. He does not purr, or groom himself. We've had him for 3 full days & nights now. From the condition of his coat, I don't think that he EVER groomed himself.

Has anyone ever seen a cat not groom himself? I just wonder if there's something mentally wrong with this cat.

  • Watching a jet this morning & it disappeared?

I was amazed a how high it was & I looked away for a second & then back again & it was gone. The vapor trail was there where I had last seen the jet, but then it stopped right where I noticed that I couldn't see it anymore. I just kept thinking "did it go into warp speed?" lol...any insight?

  • How can I found out why a development was razed & left to grass & trees?

We're moving into apartments across the street from what now looks like a park. When you "google map" the apartments, the map is old & shows a development that used to be there. What would cause someone to get rid of an entire development of houses & how can I find out what happened?

  • Are there any bad issues with living in Cleveland?

We're planning a move to Cleveland, OH in about 3 or 4 months. So far, I haven't really found a "down side" to the city. Its like internet dating - they always portray everything so wonderful...any scoop that I should know about?

    Thanks!

  • Do I need to wax over satin paint?

I am painting wainscoting or beadboard paneling with a dark green (think Olive Drab, but its actually called "Pier") in a kitchen. I was wondering, even though I'm using a Satin, if I lightly wax over the wainscoting - would it enhance the "richness" of the color?

    Any suggestions?

  • Bar-Height countertop - normal size stove...?

We're doing a kitchen remodel - and I was planning a counter "bar-height" above/behind the stove. The wall between the kitchen & dining room will be opened up with a "window" so you can see thru to the other room. In that window, we were going to put a "serving or bar counter". I didn't take into account the height of the back of the stove - its 47 7/8" high. Will the serving/bar counter be too high?

  • Being unconscious or knocked out for delivery of baby?

My co-worker just told me a story about "way back" (I'm thinking about 50 years ago) that they used to knock out women to deliver babies. I said maybe if they were Cesarean - she said "no - regular" and I said that doesn't make any sense - how would you deliver a baby that way? Has anyone ever heard of this?

  • Using the payoff security on a credit card?

My husband lost his job in April. We have been paying a security fee on our credit card that in the event of him losing his job, the balance on the credit card will be forgiven. Do you know how this would affect our credit? We both have good/excellent credit now.

  • Can you "float test" flower seeds to see if they're good?

My friend gave me a BAG of flower seeds - all different kinds last year for a wedding gift. I want to plant them this year and someone told me that if you "float" them in a glass of water just prior to planting, the dead ones will float and the good seeds will sink. Does anyone know if this is true?

  • Border Collie - shivering and lethargic...?

My parent's BC is about 8 years old. Very low maintenance dog, she's spayed and had rabies shots but no other shots. Yesterday she started shivering and acting very lethargic. I called the vet and she has an appointment tonight at 6:30. Does anyone have any experience with this?
