  • Wisdom teeth post-removal inquiry?

I had all four of my wisdom teeth extracted on tuesday, July 7th. This is the 5th day and i just have some questions, but first i should give some background information.

I'm 16 so none of my wisdom teeth had emerged...they were still deep in my gums. After the procedure, my mother told me that the surgeon said that my top teeth were extremely deep so they were harder to retrieve; that added about an extra hour onto the surgery. Plus, he had to give me extra antibiotics b/c those top teeth were so close to my nasal cavity that i had to get precautionary medicine. I went in on thursday afternoon b/c he wanted to see me due to my irregular surgery of the deep top teeth. He told me that the hardest one for him to remove was my top right tooth; I guess it was even deeper than the top left tooth. The bottom one's i guess were fairly normal. Also, i had these scar-ish kinda things on the corner of my mouths and they looked scabby but he gave me special ointment for them. i asked him why they were bleeding and he said b/c i have a really muscular face so they had to stretch my jaw a lot, so it cause the corner of my mouth to bleed. those things are now gone...

okay so onto my question. again, its the fifth day and so im sort of perplexed b/c i can't decide whats wrong with me.

the left side of my face doesn't really hurt anymore..just some sores when i open/touch that side..but i can only assume thats normal based on everything i've read. However, the right side of my face is killing me. I can't decide whether this is normal or if its dry socket. I haven't done anything to provoke a dry socket but just hear me out. The tooth area/gum doesn't really hurt...but my cheek is murdering me. just touching the side of my face and looking to the left, i can feel my cheek/jaw muscle be really tight. it's kinda like a leg cramp or some kind of strain. and since my doctor said i had a muscular face and he had to opened my mouth extra wide i'm thinking that this strain is probably caused by that. However, it doesn't make sense to me why my left side doesn't hurt like the right does. and my left side seems to be at the end of the swelling but the right side is still swollen. when i look in the mirror..i look, like, abnormal; my muscles seem to be pushing out. its just so tight and stiff....but its only the right side of my face. and i haven't completely ruled out dry socket but i've been doing the whole salt and warm water things and i haven't eaten any hard food...i've wanted to keep it safe and have basically stuck with pudding, mash potatoes, and frostys. i haven't sucked or any of that and i've been really careful. i just don't know what could have caused, if it's even, a dry socket. you might say food could have gotten stuck in there...but i haven't eaten anything that could have gotten stuck in there. what i've eaten has just smoothly traveled down my throat.

so can anyone tell me what you think is going on?...i can take a pain killer and it'll go away but i still feel the tightness on my cheek, it just doesn't hurt as badly.

also, my surgeon told me to 'massage' the areas of extraction with the warm water and salt by gently taking my finger, dipping it in the salt& water and then verry gently 'massaging', although its more like a circular motion, the area. and i have been doing that 4 times a day and just today i was doing it on my bottom left suture and it started to bleed...and believe me, i didn't push hard b/c im simply afraid to even touch the stitch (which are dissolvable, but haven't yet dissolved). it has stopped bleeding but i want to know if i should take any other precautions for that. b/c isn't it supposed to be clotted? i don't understand how it could bleed unless maybe i dislodged it, which would now qualify as dry socket. or am i wrong?

thanks for those bearing with me and all these words. i greatly appreciate any advice you have for me.

  • For those who have been to a Harry Potter midnight premeire?

I've been reading up on what time to arrive for midnight premieres in order to get good seats. Many people claim to get there around 9:30 at the earliest, and some say that Harry Potter ones are crazy and you should definitely get there before 9:30 and more around 8o'clock.

For anyone who has actually been to a Harry Potter midnight premiere, or even a Twilight or Star Wars, or other fan-crazy movies, based on your experience, if you wanted a REALLY good seat, what time would you recommend getting there? What time did you get there and was it already crowded?

Thanks in advance for the help!

Oh, and I know this belongs in the movie section, but Harry Potter readers/fans usually tend to be in the B&A section.

  • Need help with the name of a Renaissance painting

I remember this one painting I looked at a while back, and I just wanted to know the name of it, or the artist.

What I remember is something that looks like "the school of Athens", however at the top of the stairs there is a bath/bathing area. There are a lot of people in the painting. It has a lot of bright colors. There are white pillars that follow up the stairs, a few arches. I know its a pretty vague description but it looks REALLY similar to the school of Athens, but the main thing i remember is a bath/pool/bathing area at the top.

Thanks so much for your help!
