(It that all seems too much like hard work then please at least drop me a line with a note of your top 3 or something, it all helps with the research! Thanks.

    IBIZA

    ALICANTE

    MAJORCA

    MILAN

    ATHENS

    TENERIFE

  • Dyeing a dress - won't the dress ruin when I simmer it in the pot?!?

I need to dye a dress - it was the last one in the shop so it HAS to work first time!

It's 100 per cent polyester so I've bought a special polyester dye to make sure that it takes. I don't have a topload washing machine so need to dye it in a pot on the stove...however the dyeing instructions say that I need to add the dye, then add the dress, and simmer it for an hour while constantly stirring. The dress seems relatively delicate, does anyone know if the polyester fabric will ruin when subjected to that type of temperature? I'm worried that it will pucker or shrink or go wierd! A few words of wisdom from anyone with experience in dying clothes would be much appreciated. Thanks.

  • Why do you have to let a roast "stand for 10 minutes" after cooking?

I'm a bit of a newbie to roast-making, lol. Have got a beef joint, and the packaging says to cook it for 55mins then stand for 10 minutes before carving. What is the point in doing this? Doesn't it just start to get cold?! Any Nigellas out there who can shed light on this?

  • laptop problem: can't get online without inputting WEP key every time, help!?

New laptop with Windows Vista. (Going to replace it with Windows 7 though). Have got online with it, but every single time I install any kind of update, ie graphics card updates etc, I can't get online. Keep getting the "this page cannot be displayed" screen. This is despite the fact the wireless connection is coming up as 'connected'. (Also worth noting that it can't be a problem with the router as my other wireless devices are still getting online ok). The only way to get around this seems to be to go into the internet settings and typing in the WEP key all over again. I shouldn't have to do this several times daily to get online, I should just have to do this once and it's done! Anyone got any ideas of what's causing the problem or how to get round it? thanks.

  • How do you put software into a netbook WITHOUT using an external disc drive?

I need to install a programme on my netbook, which doesn't have a disc drive built in. (I don't have time to buy an external disc drive). Is it possible to install software by putting the disc into another computer, copying it to my external hard drive, then copying the programme from the hard drive onto the netbook?

  • What is another name for a balloon modeller?

Hi, I'm writing something and need an alternative phrase to describe a balloon modeller / balloon modelling.

Not looking for silly suggestions (yes, my colleages have already suggested 'latex technician' etc etc..)! Looking for a serious answer as, surprise surprise, this one is not covered by my thesaurus! Thanks.

  • Do we really have the 'best legal recruitment market in years'?

Why do people say that, for law firms, we have the best legal recruitment market in years? Is it because people are being laid off therefore there are skilled people out there ready to recruit? I'd be interested to hear from someone with knowledge of the profession who can explain this to me, thanks.

  • how long do I heat a whole cooked lobster?

I bought 2 whole cooked lobsters (frozen). I have now defrosted them, but have just noticed that there are no heating instructions on the packet! I don't want to overcook it, but I definitely don't want to undercook it and give myself food poisoning! Should I boil them in a pan for 5 mins? or put them in the oven in tin foil (for how long?)? Any advice would be much appreciated as I'm cooking them in half an hour for the dinner!

  • Can you buy mini Guinness kegs?

I am trying to purchase a Guinness 5-litre / 9-pint beer keg. I have emailed Guinness to ask if they make them but no reply yet.

I was looking at a home beer tap online - similar to the Carlsberg draughtsmaster - which said it was perfect for dispensing Guinness mini kegs...only problem is I can't find anywhere that sells them!

    Can anyone help?

  • Any UK websites selling 5-litre beer kegs?

Beer kegs, "party kegs", mini kegs, 9-pint kegs...they get called lots of things but despite Googling various search terms I still can't find a website selling a good selection of mini kegs. 10 points to whoever sends me the best link!

  • How can I expand the memory in my PS3?

I have a 60GB PS3 and want to expand the memory because I'm using it rapidly! I have an external hard drive for my PC...would this be compatible with the PS3 too? Or would I need to buy a hard drive especially for the PS3? Alternatively, is there a way of expanding the memory by adding more internal memory, and if so is this an easier or more complicated option? I know that you can replace the memory in a PS3 but I don't want to do this as I'd lose all the data I currently have stored, so that's why I'm looking for tips on expanding the memory.

Do any PS3 users out there have any tips?

  • How long do I cook pork pies for in the oven?

I have a few pies to cook and don't know how long to put them in for to heat the meat through thoroughly. They are the really big chunky pork pies (i don't know how to describe the size..,maybe like the size of a big fist, or a small grapefruit or something). Help!

  • Help...Where/when can I watch Heroes series 3 episode 1?

I accidentally taped the BBC3 episode instead of the BBC2 one, so I have episode 2 instead of episode 1. I don't want to start watching the series without having seen the first episode, is it repeated? If so, does anyone know when and on what channel? Or alternatively is there anywhere online I can watch a repeat?

I have googled and can't find it anywhere!

  • How do I use my laptop's built in microphone?

My laptop would appear to have a built in microphone...just to the left of the track-pad there is a little pinprick of a hole, approx 1mm or two wide, with a microphone symbol next to it.

I thought this would mean I could chat easily to people on msn or whatever as there are built in speakers too. However I have been into Control Panel / Sounds and Audio Devices, and I although I have managed to select the 'laptop stereo speakers' setting, I can't find anything that allows me to select the microphone settings to 'tell' the computer to recognise the mic.

There is a programme elsewhere in my computer for recording sound, and I have tried it, but the computer is definitely not regognising this so-called built in mic because the programme is not registering any sound.

    Anyone got any ideas?! Thanks.

  • Emmerdale question - what happened with Katie and the baby?

I was on holiday a few weeks ago...I went away just after the episode where Purdy had done a runner from the hospital and Grayson didn't see her taxi driving away. I've watched it the last two weeks and know that Katie is back, Grayson has sold his house and Purdy doesn't seem to be anywhere. Can any Emmerdale fans fill the blanks for me because I want to know what Grayson did next and what happened with it all! Thanks.

PS - For anyone thinking of writing answers like "get a life"...think about the fact you just clicked on a Q entitled "Emmerdale question"..what were you expecting?!

  • Is product placement illegal?

I thought there were laws against it now. Think of Big Brother...every can of juice and box of food has the label covered.

Yet, when you look at programmes like Britain's Next Top Model you see make-up brands and hair products galore. How is this different?!

Lets say, for example, I had a product or a brand and wanted it featured in Corrie. (ie a poster on a wall or something). Would I be allowed? Is it only PAID product placement that's illegal? ie if you could convince a pogramme to use your brand for free, would that be a legal loophole?

If anyone has marketing experience, please advise! Thanks.
