Who is this Annie May that is so popular these days?
Apparently she's from Japan and is very popular. She seems to have a lot of different personalities, though ... some people say they love romantic Annie May, others like mysterious Annie May, others prefer action Annie May. And why do they keep talking about mangoes? Mangoes come from South America, not Japan.
And what is this thing she has about chickens and neckties? I heard a couple of my friends talking about Annie May with the hen tie, but they changed the subject when they saw me.
7 AnswersComics & Animation1 decade agoWhat song makes you want to crank it up to eleven?
You're listening to music ... radio, iPod, CD, whatever ... and this song comes up. You just CANNOT stop yourself, you crank the volume all the way up, rip the knob off, and spend the next several minutes just rockin' out.
What song does that for you?
My vote: "Won't Get Fooled Again" by The Who
(2nd place: "Separate Ways" by Journey
19 AnswersRock and Pop1 decade agoHow do I find out copyright info for a song? And how do I contact for permission to use the song?
I frequently come up with ideas for song parodies. I'd like to actually record some of them, but I'd like to get permission from the original composers.
Where can I find the contact information for a particular songwriter? I'm assuming I'd have to get in touch with their legal representative.
4 AnswersOther - Music1 decade agoDid anyone see a bright meteor on Christmas evening?
Driving north on I-69 near Marshall, MI, I saw a bright meteor just after 6pm Eastern Time. It travelled from NW, about 45 degrees up, to slightly east of north about 20 degrees up, then disappeared. It was fairly slow-moving, visible for about 5 seconds.
Possibly a old satellite de-orbiting? Anyone else see this?
4 AnswersAstronomy & Space1 decade agoWhat is a good Yahoo! group for webcomics?
I have my own webcomic, and I'd like to find a group of other comic artists to chat with (maybe find some in my area). I've tried the 'webcomicsconnection' group, but that has very little traffic. Are there other webcomics groups out there?
1 AnswerYahoo Groups1 decade agoHelp ID this wild bird?
My wife and I saw a bird in our backyard that we couldn't identify. It was about the same size and shape as a robin, but with a black beak, dark grey back, lighter grey breast, and a patch of black or dark brown on top of its head.
We live in northern Indiana. Anyone know what this bird is?
Thanks!
4 AnswersBirds1 decade agoIs the British slang term "dolly bird" considered offensive?
For the comic strip that I'm developing, one character is a sort of half-bird, half-woman. I thought of calling her "Dolly Bird" (well, she looks sort of like a bird, and sort of like Dolly Parton).
According to various sources that I've looked at online, "dolly bird" can either mean an attractive young woman, or a trashy-looking woman wearing excessive make-up. So the question is, would a character named "Dolly Bird" be offensive to women in general?
7 AnswersWords & Wordplay1 decade agoMarvel Comics special on the "Mighty Heroes" cartoon?
I'm working on developing a web-based comic strip. It's a humorous superhero adventure, and I thought of adding occasional references to obscure superheroes.
Back in the 1960's, there was a short-lived TV cartoon called the "Mighty Heroes". Later, around 1997, Marvel Comics had one issue that included the origins of the Mighty Heroes.
My question is, where can I find a copy of that comic? Thanks, y'all!
