  • I want to wear contacts, but I have dry eyes and a very high prescription...?

I'm 25 and I've never had a problem with dry eyes before, then I moved to Florida and they're dry most of the time. I've tried countless drops including prescription drops.. some work.. and I get all excited and get trial contacts and they just suck up what little bit of moisture I'm able to muster.

As of last year, the only contacts that made my prescription were Proclear and O2 Optix. My prescription goes to -14.00 in contacts.

Please, does anyone know of any lenses or drops or treatments (besides the plugs) that I could try? I see so much better with the contacts, it took me 8 years and several tries to be able to get them in and out only to run into this roadblock.

  • OTC fix for dry eyes that you can use with contact lenses?

I recently moved to a new state and have had problems with dry eyes since I came here. I used to wear contacts, but can't now because they are too dry. Rewetting drops don't work - I go through a bottle a week and they're still uncomfortable - I've tried several different brands.

Drops for dry eyes like Visine etc. cannot be used with contacts ( I would have to take them out for 15-20 minutes to use the drops and I can't do this half-way through the day all the time )

Do you know of any medications, preferably over-the-counter, that can help me? I don't care if it's drops or pills or what, I miss my contacts, I could see so much better with them as opposed to glasses!

  • Finding Spot Builders in Central Florida - building a new home - where to start?!?

We live in Central Florida and would like to buy some land and have a home built on it. We have attempted to research this online and with a realtor and can't seem to get any information. We have no idea the cost of building a new home vs. an existing home, or where to go to find a spot builder - all of the new home construction places we have found only build within their own communities and are now harassing us to move onto their land instead.

Does anyone know of a good spot builder in central florida who will build a quality home on vacant land (not already in a community)?

  • Title issues and cash-only offers - are these major red flags to move on? What do they really mean?

I had my eye on a home which is bank owned but it was recently withdrawn due to 'title issues'. What could that mean is happening? Also, are many bank-owned properties cash-only? What does it mean if they are only taking cash-offers? Should both of these things put up a red flag that there is something seriously wrong with this house?

Knowledgeable answers are appreciated - opinions are not very helpful.

  • Down payment / closing cost assistance for Medical Personnel in the state of Florida?

We are buying a home in Seminole County before the end of the year. My husband is an ED Tech at Florida Hospital in Orlando. He overheard someone talking about a $140,000 home they just purchased, had to pay no closing costs and only $1000 for a down payment through a program only for medical personnel in the state of florida. He failed to get the name of this program, however, and have not seen this employee for a while. We've tried searching for it, but can only get realtor phone numbers who harass us rather than help us. Does anyone have any information on this program? A name, a link, or anything?

  • What natural herbs are good for women?

My hormones are very imbalanced. I was on medical birth control for 5 years, but they caused depression and anxiety. Since I've been off of them, my depression is WAY better, but my anxiety hasn't changed much and my menstruation is extremely irregular (sometimes going 6 months without a period, then periods that last 2-3 weeks). I've been to 3 different doctors and they only thing anyone can suggest is birth control since they can't find anything wrong enough to correct with medication (i am borderline everything).

I am looking for something natural, no side effects, that would be good for hormones. I came across some all-natural breast enhancement pills that work by regulating hormones released while maturing and many reviews stated that they regulated the womens' menstrual cycles.

Does anyone know anything about these? I would not take them specifically for breast enhancement but, hey, I'd rather have bigger boobs than suicidal thoughts.

  • When buying a house, what does the buyer pay?

Everyone keeps telling us that the seller should pay the closing costs, but there must be some things that are left to the buyer other than a down payment. Who pays for the appraisal, the investigation, the taxes for the rest of the year, etc? Will the realtor selling the house charge a fee to the buyer? Does a binding payment have to be made when in contract? It's common sense that the buyer should pay for mortgage application fees and utility activations, but other things are not so obvious.

What I need is a list of every fee associated with buying a house, even possible hidden ones, and which ones the buyer always has to pay. We need to figure up how much of our savings will go towards these things and how much can be used for a down payment and the only answer I can get from any realtor is "you don't pay closing costs".

  • Pre-tattoo question..?

I want to get a tattoo on my ankle. I've already drawn it out on my ankle with a regular ink pen to see what it might look like. I know that, when you get a tattoo, they draw it first for similar reasons. Do they use regular ink like I did? Can I go in with the ink drawing still on my ankle and they can simply trace my drawing? Or would the ink cause poisoning or any other health concerns?

  • Does anyone role-play in chat rooms anymore?

Does anyone remember The Forest and The Red Dragon Inn on AOL? I know, I'm going back about 10 years ago, before World of Warcraft and EverQuest and all that came out. Are there any chat rooms around like that anymore? I miss being able to use my imagination and not have to form to what a game is programmed to give me...

  • Key Lime Pie filling?

I have a frozen crust and some Comstock Creme Key Lime Pie Filling... but I have no idea what to do with it. Neither has any instructions on it for pie whatsoever. Every recipe I've found is if you're making it from scratch.

Do I need to bake this?

If so, how long and at what temp?

Or do I just put in the filling and stick it in the fridge?

And if that's the case, should I bake the crust or just defrost it??

Darnit Jim, I'm a seamstress, not a baker!!!

  • What kinds of fish (other than Betas) can be kept in small bowls?

I've had Beta fish for years. I've put them in an old blender I have which I have altered to be a neat looking fish tank for our kitchen. (Don't worry - I took the blades out and removed the wire and plug)

My latest fish has recently passed away, and I'd like to try something different, but I really like the blender thing. I'd say it's about 3/4 of a gallon.

What other kinds of fish can stay in a small area like this?

Would a few Tetras be okay?

Do you know of any websites that might help me?

    Thank you!!

  • For those who are Pro-Life...?

If abortion was made illegal, what do you think the punishment should be for the women who have abortions? Would you give them life imprisonment and/or death penalty?

If not, and you believe that abortion is, in fact, murder, then do you think that someone who murders a person after they are born should not be punished either?

  • Do children in orphanages go to public school?

I need to know for a graphic novel I'm working on... I know they would if they were in foster care, but I'm not sure if I want the character in foster care or at an orphanage... She's just a supporting character anyway, but I'm a perfectionist and want to get it right, so any details about how that whole thing works will be helpful. The character will be a 17 year old girl. :)

  • What do you think of this Christmas gift?

My husband is easy to shop for - but that's the problem.. I want to get him everything that he likes!! He likes comic books (espeially spiderman, ironman, and green lantern), the Pittsburg Steelers, several movies, etc etc...

He *needs* a new light jacket.. so here's what I'm thinking..

I'd get him a plain zip-up hooded jacket, probably black or grey. I have an embroidery machine that I rarely use, but I can embroider things all over the jacket like.. the green lantern symbol, a spider, the Stark logo, um.. the stealers thing, etc etc...

What do you think? Is that being cheap? Is it too nice of a gift since it's personalized and I'll just be getting store-bought things? Do you think it would look stupid with football, comic book, and movie logos all over it since they really don't have anything in common other than "things my hubby likes"?

  • What do you think goes on in those Presidential-Elect Briefings?

Obama can't tell us what was in the briefings, obviously, but what do you think they talk to him about?

Does Mr. Obama now know that we indeed have been working on alien technology in Area 51, or that the whole thing is just a rumor?

Does Mr. Obama now know that our troops are actually in Iraq fighting off the zombie apocalypse, or that we're there for monetary purposes only?

Does Mr. Obama now know of the government planned "terrorist attack" that will be used to re-unite our country to avoid civil war, or that our "intelligence" has listed threats from other countries?

What else do you think goes on in there?
