How would you translate "I would forgive you" in Latin?
Would it be the same as "I will forgive you," as in absolvam? I just need a simple translation - and please, no Google Translate.
1 AnswerLanguages8 years agoWhat should I do if I was bitten by a spider and a week later the bite did not hurt, but turned green?
Last Thursday, I woke up with a blister on my left arm - about the size of a dime. Thinking it was a bedsore or something, I just pressed it until it popped (clear, foul-smelling pus going everywhere), and then my arm was in extreme pain for about a minute or so. I washed it and bandaged it before preceding to work. When I got home, I examined it - it was pink - and re-bandaged it. The next day, I forgot to bandage it since I do not touch my arm or do anything that would involve anything that can infect wounds at my job. I determined it to be a spider bite, but since I made it through the first 24 hours without any issues, I assumed I was home free. The bite widened slightly (about quarter sized now) and the edges scarred, but the center gets deeper and deeper every time I bandage it - I saw my melanin layer - so I stopped bandaging it. The middle of the bite is green now, but it does not hurt (unless I press down on it), and it is not warmer than the rest of arm, nor blistering or pus-filled, so I do not believe it is infected. It is just green - like snot - and it has not progressed pass this green scab thing.
And, no, I do not know what type of spider it is. It is not a brown recluse bite since there is no necrosis, but I am still unsure. What should I do? Bandage it anyway? Seek medical attention? Take some antibiotics or something?
2 AnswersFirst Aid8 years agoWhat is "Venus" in the Latin Abaltive case, as in "with Venus"?
I know Venus is third declension, and the genitive is Veneris, but what is the ablative form?
1 AnswerLanguages9 years agoPompeii had a population density of roughly 120 people/acre, if it was 164 acres in area, how many escaped?
I don't understand how to do this problem.
1 AnswerHomework Help9 years agoChristians: if you believe in the second coming of Jesus, doesn't that mean that you believe in reincarnation?
I mean isn't it a bit strange that a good portion of you believe reincarnation doesn't exist and then say that there will be a Second Coming of your messiah? I was just wondering.
10 AnswersReligion & Spirituality10 years agoHow do you tell a six year old to...?
How do you tell a six year to get over their suckish life, to stop acting like their four-year-old bratty step-sister and to overall stop being a female dog without hurting their feelings....too much?
She is throwing things and screaming, and throwing herself on the floor, flailing limbs and whining and won't stop. How do I make it stop? For at least three hours?
2 AnswersGrade-Schooler10 years agoR&S What if someone came up to you on the streets & claimed that Jesus spoke to them and they have a message?
And that the message was the if you wanted to go to heaven right now you had to go out on the streets and the sidewalks and dance.
...And it was true?
BTW I am an atheist and I am talking completely hypothetical situation.
10 AnswersReligion & Spirituality10 years agoWhere did the "atheists eat babies" thing originate and why?
I mean I take my aborted baby lunch with a side of fries and a Bloody Heretic as a beverage but still!
11 AnswersReligion & Spirituality10 years agoWhat are the Jewish standpoints in society? Christians & Atheists are usually generalized in different groups.?
Like a lot of Christians (and I'm including the Catholics and Baptists and Methodists...) say that all Democrats are Atheist which is obviously untrue and some Atheists say that all Christians are Republicans. A lot of vocal Christians are homophobic haters and a lot of vocal Atheists either don't care or are supporters. I mean I don't hear a lot of vocal Jewish people on here, or at least they don't make it clear. Atheists believe in evolution, Christians believe in creation. Global warming, atheism, who cares for Christians, you know that kind of thing?
Can I have some standard generalizations (or technicalities) on their standpoints?
1 AnswerReligion & Spirituality10 years agoMy best friend likes me and I'm attached to him, but he knows that I'm gay, but is in denial about it. I mean?
...he's cool and all but...
First he goes into denial about my atheism and now he's in denial about my obvious orientation. I mean I don't gush about dates or hit on girls to his face, I mean I know I'm bi but he is not right for me. I tried to explain this to him but I get so flustered around him, because I for one know he likes me. I have made cracks about his flamboyantly gay personality and I think he does realize I am what I but...he freaks out and denies it--he's a Mormon (not the polygamist kind mind you), so even in that aspect we are incompatible, but otherwise we are perfect for each other, or so they say. How do I explain to him that I like his company and I like hanging out with him but I'm not attracted to him?
WHY are religious, nice guys so freaking crazy?
2 AnswersLesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender10 years agoWhere, when and how did the "Make a Deal with the Devil" originate?
I mean, like if one sold their soul to the devil that sort of thing. Where did this belief originate, Bible, Torah, Koran, folk tale, myth, oral tradition, etc?
And if it does hold merit with the religious texts or something of that nature why the heck can't you make a deal with God or an angel or something?
2 AnswersReligion & Spirituality10 years agoChristians: Have you ever heard of Lilith, the first Eve?
You should have if you were as attached to your scripture as you make yourselves sound at times.
6 AnswersReligion & Spirituality10 years agoHow can I tell my friend that I *like* him without ruining our friendship?
I've known him for two years, we talk all the time and we've been just friends all along. But I've developed feelings for him, and no I've never *liked* anyone before and no I'm not "in love with him." I've been hearing from all our other friends that he likes me, but I can't see how he can. Can I test him somehow? And, any guys out there, would you rather your gf/crush/bf made the first move or would you be so quick to potentially ruin a good-friendship for the chance that they like you back?
2 AnswersFriends10 years agoJust out of curiosity, have any of you guys heard of Unitarian Universalism?
I know what it is, I just want to see if you guys do.
6 AnswersReligion & Spirituality10 years agoI'm atheist, so if everyone around me is extremely religious to the point of not speaking to me what do I do?
I'm atheist, like extremely atheist, but I live in the smack dab middle of the American Bible Belt in the south, and no I can't move. Everyone around me, besides my own family, is extremely religious, even my closest friends (Mormon, Catholic, Baptist) are religious nut jobs (no offense, seriously, they have been trying to convert since I came out of the metaphorical Atheist Closet). Some of those acquaintances that I have to see every freaking day refuse to speak to me and even when they have to they are either bashing everything I say or think on the basis of what I do on my Sundays and my Wednesdays.
I mean I'm okay when they have a well thought-out question that I answer to the best of my bility (when did you become an atheist, were you ever religious, do you go to church anyway? etc) but seriously, I don't know how to handle this semi-shunning that is going on.
What do I do?
