I'm not positive which med was used, but I believe it was brevital sodium. I was nauseous for the first couple days, which I was warned of, but my stomach has been a little upset in another manner since I started eating again for the past few days.

I'll be put under in a similar manner a few times a week for a few weeks for ECT, so I'd like to know what to expect before I see them in the morning.

I'm by no means small and defenseless, but I'm still wary of walking a few miles in the middle of the night. Is this a ridiculous notion or should I really wait until it's lighter?

I work 3rd shift, so this is the "afternoon" for me.

I know there is a tendency to believe we're better when properly medicated and decide we don't need the meds anymore. I know paying for them can be hard. I know side effects can be annoying. However, I also know how terrible I am to be around when I'm unmedicated and I do everything in my power not to subject the people I love to that.

I don't understand why so many people are so resistant to stay in treatment when it's often the only way to lead an even slightly normal life.

I'm diagnosed bipolar and medicated, so I have to avoid all the fun stuff like alcohol and staying up all night. Granted, I don't always, but I can tell the difference and it's frustrating.

I hadn't realized how much my medication muted my thoughts until I lowered the dose. However, since then I've been up and down a lot more and it's getting to be more than I can handle. I don't want to go back to not thinking clearly, but I don't want to be miserable, either. I thought I was stable, finally.
