Silver or Gold Bell on an Orange Tabby Cat's Collar?
What color bell would you prefer on an orange tabby cat's collar? Silver to contrast against the warm orange fur or gold to go with the shades of orange?
3 AnswersCats5 years agoBig Barker Dog Bed or Buddy Rest Bed? Which is better?
Trying to figure out what is the better orthopedic bed for my large aging dog. She tends to get hot often here in the desert climate with her black coat so how cool the bed would keep is a factor. I can't seem to choose between these two because I don't know if the Big Barker would get especially hot but the Buddy Rest is much more expensive. Which would be better in the situation or which do you think is the best value over all? Just wanted to know what people thought :)

I've been seeing warnings about PVC being toxic. I live in a very hot climate so would it get hot and release any harmful chemicals on the sections of the steering wheel cover that is made out of PVC?
3 AnswersSafety6 years agoToyota Corolla Warranty and Maintenance Plan, is it Worth it?
Hello! I needed some advise on the warranty and maintenance because I just bought a 2014 Corolla LE and was wondering if I should cancel. This is my first time buying a car from a dealership and I think I may have made a mistake getting these plans on it but wanted to make sure before taking them off.
Here is my list of points about the car
- I purchased the Platinum Extended Warranty that's good for 7 years, 100,000 miles with a painful price tag of $1,775.
-Car already has 42,600 miles on it
-Car was originally a rental car
-Car is a certified pre-owned with power terrain warranty good for 7 years, 100,000 miles and a year left of a pre-existing maintenance plan
-I also purchased the classic care maintenance plan that is good for 4 years, 55,000 miles with the price tag of $800. For the price, is that wise?
I did not know I could haggle with them about the prices so I made no attempt to do so at the time of purchase. The prices seem too high to me and I am inching towards getting them off but what would I do for things like the maintenance?
8 AnswersBuying & Selling6 years agoWhat's Your Most Effective Fish Medicine You Like to Use?
Just wondering what people's favorite stuff to use is that has actually worked for them time and time again. I have hard water so I think medications for me sometimes have a hard time taking effect but I like knowing what has worked for other people and researching it. Plus I just wanted to see what was the general favorite. Vote now! :D
1 AnswerFish7 years agoWhat is a Good Medicated Fish Food?
Needing to know, what's a good medicated fish food for bacterial infections or how do you make it? This is my main question that I need to know more about.
I was wondering though on how you make medicated parasitic fish food too. Just wanted to prepare for it incase I ever needed it and came up on google to use some Seachem products but didn't tell me specifically how to make it :/ Was also wondering if I could use API General Cure instead of Seachem's metronidazole.
1 AnswerFish7 years agoWhat Are Some of the Best Fish Keeping Forums for Advise?
When I have problems with my fish, I like reading various websites and seeing various people's personal accounts of things that worked(or didn't) for them but sometimes I have questions that I just can't find and would like to talk to multiple people to get various opinions/accounts of dealing with fish sicknesses/parasites to make the best decisions. There seems to be so many forums but I'm not sure which ones to try talking to people on. Suggestions for a few good ones?
3 AnswersFish7 years agoDoes this sound like my African Dwarf Frog has chytrid?
For at least about a month or two now, I've noticed that my female african dwarf frog isn't shedding skin like normal. Her skin has looked flaky like it should be before she sheds her skin but she never does and she's been in a permanent state of looking flaky. I've been puzzled as to what it could be because I know it's definitely not normal. The tank is regularly cleaned and the water parameters are normal. The male frog that's been with her since I got her appears to have a tad bit of milkiness to his skin but it's very hard to tell and he's not in a constant flaky looking state as she. They both eat vigorously so at least their apatite is up and they are still active. I've had these two frogs for around 2-3 years now
A while ago I had bought another frog to replace a frog that had died due to an infection of a cut on his leg (I originally had 3). This new frog after a little while got skinny looking and died off and I couldn't figure out how he died since I was feeding like normal and it's an all frog tank (with the exception of ghost shrimp for clean up) So since after then, I've noticed this very unnatural skin problem with my female. I just recently bought another ADF since I like having three froggies together and he looks clear and healthy, different from my female and how she always looks like her skin is about to shed so I know something's up.
Does this sound like it could be chytrid? I tried looking up the symptoms on google and it sounds like it could be it but I'm not sure. And pictures are hard to find except for one in which the frog looks extremely milky. My frog is not super milky but is somewhat since she hasn't been shedding and stuck in a state of flaky skin that is not a natural shedding. Has anyone else ever dealt with this and can you tell me how your frogs appeared? I know the treatment but I want to be sure that it is indeed chytrid and not something else like capillaria infection or skin protozoa so I don't have to go through needless stripping and of the tank and medicating frogs with Lamisil.

3 AnswersReptiles9 years agoIf I download the Homebrew channel to my Wii, can I take it off again?
I want to modify my Animal Crossing City Folk map because a bridge was built where I don't want it via town funds so of course I would like to download the Homebrew channel to change it to a different place and tweak some things. If I do, can I safely remove it when I'm done without messing up anything? I'm worried that it might mess up things on my Wii and I don't want it to but I REALLY want to change things on my game.
2 AnswersNintendo Wii9 years agoShould I include a resume to Petsmart or not?
I'm filling out the application and it has a section where you can choose to include a resume but you can skip it. I'm not sure what to do at all because I've never worked at any job yet.
The best that I can say is that I've owned many small aquariums that I routinely clean and have successfully kept them for many years, that I used to care for pet rats, cleaned their cages every week and made sure their food and water was fresh, that I have a dog and cats that I care for, that I helped someone wash and ride their horses for a little while, that I research animals that I work/care for to learn everything I can about them, I once convinced a mom while at Petsmart that rats made excellent little critters for children to care for and she ended up getting them one (not sure if that counts for anything) that I really love animals and I've been eagerly wanting to work at Petsmart for some time now, that I have a high school diploma and wish to attend college. I wouldn't word things like that of course, I'm just saying, that's about all I have.
I always hear from talking to the employees that I need to come in and talk to the hiring manager when I apply for best results. So should I just leave out the resume and count on just talking to the manager or try to come up with something with what little I have?
Also, if I should do the resume, how should I say things? I have some idea of how to do it but I need a little help with what to do since I haven't worked at any other jobs or have any big achievements or things relevant to the job other than what I've done at home. Short and simple about me?
4 AnswersOther - Careers & Employment9 years agoWhat is the best current complete freshwater aquarium encyclopedia?
I found an encyclopedia called "The Complete Aquarium Encyclopedia of Tropical Freshwater Fish" by J. D. van Ramshorst at a Bookmans store and it looked pretty good but then I read the copy right date which was in 1991 and was thinking that the info might be outdated so I didn't buy it. I scanned through it a little and also noticed it didn't seem to include things like ghost knife fish so I was thinking that perhaps it didn't have all the current fish. I didn't like either how sometimes it would say something like "see ____ for more info" instead of just having it there or had pictures of fish that where a page before flipping to the info on it, it looked sort of confusing. Does anyone know if this is a good book at all?
Over all I would like to get opinions on what is the best freshwater fish encyclopedia with good covering info and colored pictures.
1 AnswerFish10 years agoIs Putting Gorilla Glue on the Outside of a Fish Tank to Seal A Crack Okay?
I have a small fish tank that got lightly cracked during cleaning by something hitting it on the outside and wouldn't hold water. I emptied the tank of water and put gorilla glue on the outside and let it dry for a day. I put water back in it and it was water tight so I put my betta back in it and it's been fine thus far, betta seems alright.
A relative that I talked to about it though said that I should just buy another tank because they thought the crack would just get bigger over time from the calcium depositing in the crack so I went on a google search to see if I could find anything on it. I ended up reading instead that silicone sealant should be used on fish tanks because other things are toxic. It made me wonder if my already dried gorilla glue was fine and I began to worry. My fish has SEEMED fine so far but the dried glue won't leak chemicals through the itsy-bitsy cracks would it? I have no idea where I'd even find silicone anyways, Petsmart doesn't have that sort of stuff I think..
So is already dried gorilla glue for tiny cracks alright? Since it's dried, will it not do anything?
3 AnswersFish10 years agoHow long is the period that you can't write to someone in basic training?
I have a dear friend in basic training for the National Guard. He sent a letter saying that starting in July, I can't mail him anything. How long is it until I can send him letters again? I'm sort of anxious to know so it makes it hard for me to wait for him to write me. Two weeks or something? Or until the basic training has ended?
1 AnswerMilitary10 years agoHow Good Are Perfecto Fluorescent Light Strips?
I'm a beginner at planted aquariums and wanted to have just a little 10 gallon. I know lighting is important but I am confused with what to get, there's so many different lights and lighting fixtures out there that I'm not sure what's best, it seems a bit complicated to me. I do know the bulbs that you want for planted tanks should be in the 5000k-10,000k range though. I think the regular hood that came with the aquarium might not be the right fixture for strong enough lights though I was wondering if there was anything I could do with it but then I saw at Petsmart the other day, I think something called "Perfecto Fluorescent Light Strips". I was wondering if they're worth the money to get, if they'll actually grow some stuff. I have pretty hard water so the plants in my tank will be hard water compatible and from what I've read, most grow slowly and don't need as much light. Anybody have any experience with these light strips, good or crud? If cruddy, what else can I get for my 10 gallon?
3 AnswersFish1 decade agoHow often does my 5 gallon aquarium need water changing?
I have kept a 5 gallon tank for about a year and a half now with an apple snail and a few guppies and I've always changed the water and cleaned everything weekly. I went into a pet store today called "Tropical Kingdom" for some fish supplies and an employee there told me that changing the water once a week was way too much and stresses the fish out. He said that he only cleaned his tanks every once in a while and they did fine. I thought this odd since all the information I've ever heard/read is to do water changes on smaller tanks frequently to keep ammonia and nitrates and stuff like that down. Like I've said, I've had the tank for a while now and things have been alright for the most part but now I feel confused with what the guy told me. Which information is right?
7 AnswersFish1 decade agoAre Female Betta's Fins As Fragile As A Male's?
I have a beautiful blue female betta in a 1 1/2 gallon bowl. Petsmart just recently started having discounts on 10 gallon aquariums that come with a hood and filter so I was thinking about getting one because I hear the females are spunky and zip around in big spaces and I always wanted to create an asian themed tank with one of those bubbling chinese dragons (I know that they don't need bubbling stuff but I think it looks cool) and a plastic bonsai tree and maybe some other decorations like fake bamboo. I know from experience with my male bettas though that their fins tear quite easily so I was wondering if a female is prone to fin tearing as well on decorations such as plastic plants and rough-ish things like rocks.
2 AnswersFish1 decade agoHelp with Betta tank color coordination?
I looked around for a website with color coordination tips for aquariums but could find none. Does anyone possibly know of one? I recently acquired a purple veiltail betta fish with a dark face and a red tail that appears pink in dull light due to the light blueish/purply streaks through it. I was thinking about giving him some white gravel to maybe make his color stand out more but I wasn't sure and wanted more ideas.
1 AnswerFish1 decade agoDo Ginseng Ficus Bonsai Trees go through a dormancy state like other bonsai trees in winter?
I was thinking about getting a Ginseng Ficus Bonsai tree from Home Depot because I've heard that they're easy to care for but I've never had one before so I'm not sure if they go through a dormancy state in winter. I've been looking up information about it on the internet but I can't seem to find anything about what to do with it in winter other than not to let it be in cold temperatures.
