We'll end the world, when all hope is gone.

  • My roommate moved my furniture?

My roomie and I have been living together for about 6 months. We were good friends before and never had any issues. Now when we moved in I had a little bit of furniture: a lamp, a small bookcase, a sewing machine that doubles as an end table, nothing big. She had pretty much nothing except her mattress and clothes. After a few weeks I come home from work and she has moved in a (large) dining set, several end table/bookcase things, a couple chairs, and a very, very large entertainment center. I was surprised, but didn't really have any issue with it as I'm fairly easy going and wasn't planning on filling the house with my own stuff anyway. Tonight I came home after working a 24 hour shift to find my room has been filled with every odd and end of mine that she can find. She moved my lamp, my sewing machine, a throw blanket, even my spare keys and sunglasses which were sitting on the kitchen counter. I couldn't even open my door she just stuck it in there. I'm not a messy person, all of this stuff was placed appropriately and even if it bothered her, she could have just talked to me. I don't get it. Is this some passive-aggressive way for her to establish her dominance?

  • Tell someone they're narcissistic?

    Hi everyone,

Sorry this is going to be a long one.

A few months ago, my ex ended our two year relationship with little explanation. He was cold and very inconsiderate when he did it, and since this wasn't any new behavior on his part, I decided to take it as an opportunity to figure out my own life and get on without him. Of course, a month later he wanted to get back together and was enraged when I told him that no, while I love him, I won't ever be in a relationship with him again. The next day he called me apologizing and begging for me to take him back. I have told him no repeatedly, but he is still calling me, sometimes just to talk and see how I'm doing. I recently realized that he displays a lot of signs of a narcissistic personality disorder and I'm wondering if there's any point in gently letting him know that. I still love him as a person and I don't want to see him ruining his whole life if there's any hope for him to get help. He has a 5 year old son as well, and I want him to have a healthy relationship with his father. So, should I mention that he needs therapy? He did acknowledge that he was inconsiderate and that he should have thought of my feelings, but I don't know if he really meant it or if he just thought it would help get me back.

    Thanks

  • Chicken bleeding from the eye?

I have a 9 year old hen, and this morning I found her bleeding from her left eye. There's no sign of swelling, cuts, scratches or anything like that. I found quite a lot of blood spatters, so it looks like it's been going on for at least an hour, if not longer. At first I thought she had gouged it on something, but the surface of her eye looks fine, and the pupil is still reactive. The blood is thick, and almost bubbling out. I cleaned most of the excess blood off and put a little anti-biotic ointment on it, but I'm really concerned.

    Thanks

  • Could this be the flu?

It's a little complicated but here goes. Friday a week before last (the 18th), I came down with a sinus infection that lasted until about Monday or Tuesday (21,22). Around that time, I also got a bladder infection and Wednesday started a prescription of Macrobid for that. By this time, my sinus infection was mostly gone. I was feeling fine the rest of the week, until Sunday (27th), when I woke up with excruciating pain in both arms, from the shoulders down through my palms, chest pain and a bad headache with light sensitivity. I frequently get migraines, so I wasn't too worried about the headache, although it felt more like a tension headache and Excedrin didn't seem to help at all, so I thought that perhaps I was having a reaction to the Macrobid, and I stopped taking it that day. Monday (yesterday) I had a temperature of 102 and a slight sore throat, so I went to my doctor's office and saw a PA, who assured me that it was only the flu. Today, I still have the headache, which has only worsened, photophobia, my hands and arms feel bruised, I have a slight fever (between 99 and 100), chest pain, difficulty breathing, severe upper back pain and a mild sore throat. I do NOT feel weak and or shaky, as I've always felt before with the flu, and while I feel slightly nauseated, I haven't been vomiting. I also occasionally feel like bursting into tears, but I don't know if that's related. Anyway, my question is, do I have the flu? Or could it be something else and should I go back to my doctor?

    Thanks

  • BJ's restaurants, dress code?

I applied for a job at BJ's and I'm wondering if they have a dress code. I not only have tattoos and a piercing but my hair is also a few different colors. Really it's the hair that I'm slightly concerned about, because everything else can be covered. It's dark blue and purple with a little bit of red. Will I have to change it? And should I do it now, before the interview?

  • Perceptions survey...?

When you see a person with multiple tattoos and/or piercings, is your first reaction a negative one?

    Why or why not?

Being an inked person myself, I was just wondering how other people felt about it.

  • Short survey, yes/no?

When you see a person with multiple tattoos and/or piercings, is your first reaction a negative one?

You don't have to tell me why or why not, but I'd like to know.

    Thanks

  • what would you have done?

I'm a cashier and I have dealt with all sorts of rude/belligerent customers, but I have never had to deal with this before. I had agreed to stay an extra hour and a half after I was scheduled. I had closed my line and was finishing with my last two customers (this was already 15 minutes past the time that I had agreed to), when a lady walks into my line with her teenage daughter and insists that she'll be my last customer. To be honest, I would have taken her, except for the fact that I had already turned away several customers who had been waiting for much longer than she had. I politely apologized and told her that I couldn't help her. She kept insisting, so much that my customer told her I wasn't taking any more people, to which she replied that she was a manager at our other branch, and I would definitely help her. I told her again, that no, I couldn't help her and several other customers had already been waiting. Finally, she went and told my manager, who helped her himself. Now what I want to know is, how could this lady possibly think that she was more privileged than everyone else? And what would you have done in my situation?

  • Jazz shoes help?

I've my jazz shoes for about a year, although I haven't used them for the last 5 months or so. Anyways, the shoes are still in great shape but the bottoms are really slippery, mainly because I'm dancing on hardwood rather than Marley. Is there any way that I can "rough 'em up" a little? They're leather lace-ups by Bloch with a rubber sole. I've heard that with leather soled shoes you can run a sharp knife over them really lightly, would that work with these? Or maybe sandpapering them? I know I should buy new shoes, but right now I can't afford to! Any help is appreciated, thanks!

  • Piercing question?

Okay, I'm planning on getting my lip pierced, but I need to know exactly how much it's going to swell up. I keep hearing that it's not much, but I don't want to go to work the next day looking like I was stung by a killer bee. Also, is it okay to ice it, and for how long?

    Thanks
